Thank you. I've just received this kit for my 1st ever Tamiya build. Always like to watch your stuff when it's new to me. Thanks again for doing these videos for us.
It makes sense to have the interior and bottom of a race car in white, because it makes finding fluid or gasket leaks a whole lot easier for the pit crews and mechanics: many modern aircraft have the undercarriages and undercarriage bays painted white for the same reason. Great build, as per usual; with the quality of their molding techniques, Tamiya usually make things a lot easier.
This is by far the best and most enjoyable kit I've ever done. Tamyia never disappoints. Only problem is they set the bar so high when you go back to a revell or something else you get frustrated quick.
Great build! I love Tamiya kits so much but unfortunately they don’t make as many 1/24 models car as they used to, the quality of their kits is always outstanding.
I remember a crew chief saying they paint everything white because it's easier to see cracks in welds and also for heat. Love the unboxing, l can see what l am buying before hand. Thanks friend!
Tamiya kits are always top notch. I have even built them unpainted, and just polished the bodies with Novus2. They are hard to tell apart from my painted models. Thanks for this look at a great new kit!
The race teams usually buy white vehicles and then put a vinyl wrap on the body. Saves weight and white usually helps keep interiors cooler. Not matching interior or under body saves weight and money. Painting the roll cage just keeps it from rusting away and weakening
Always a pleasure watching you work, and I've been using some of your painting techniques which have marked an improvement in the standard of my models. Great stuff.
Another nice build! I always forget how nice Tamiya kits are until I build one, or in this case watch someone else build one haha! Something different and again, nice build!
Great result Chris, looks sinister! You are the 1st RUclipsr to build this kit I believe. Seen plenty of reviews but no one else has actually built it yet. Well done!
If l could subscribe again l would, I love your Channel, your builds are just Simple and Clean unless weathered with no crazy mods. l have been building for at least 45 yrs. & love it. Please do a video of your entire collection but go slow with those little back stories.
This kit has taken some heat for the lack of an opening hood and a complete engine, and I have to say that I'm a bit puzzled that with all the other fantastic details, plus *some* of the engine, why not just go the rest of the way? But, the built kit looks so good and sits so nice with a perfectly engineered stance and presence, that it makes the engine detail secondary. Great job, looks lust like the box art.
Thanks for the nice words! It only gets 'heat' from those on the interwebs that don't understand that Japanese and European designed car kits are mostly (not all) curbside models and have been for a long time.
Just beginning my kit and expect to rely on your demonstration as I go along. I really appreciate you saying to build it MY way. I had a 69 Torino GT that was my 'best looking' car, and I am thinking of going with the Black Jade that my Torino had. Would you use actual Black Jade paint from the auto supply or ... Thanks!
I'd love to see you build a Dehavilan Beaver or Otter bush plane with your techniques and skills. I built both and they looked okay but not my best work. I love both planes and are the iconic aircraft for the Canadian North. You do such Awesome representation of of modeling I think you could probably do a wonderful job. Please let me know if that is a build you would be willing to do. With Your ideas and choices of color would be great to see but I'd like to see you build them with the floats
Ford Fact: The majority of race cars are factory delivered as a "Body In White". All you get is just the body painted white. No interior or engine, because most racers would have to replace many of the stock components for race specific parts. So the choice to keep many of the parts white is very correct.
Luck? No issues here unless it's super humid, then it takes days, but I dehumidify the shop. I also spray LIGHT coats, people say they look thick on camera but all wet paint looks thick when sprayed.
Thank you. I've just received this kit for my 1st ever Tamiya build. Always like to watch your stuff when it's new to me. Thanks again for doing these videos for us.
Now , if they make a " STOCK " one that would be GREAT !!!
I never realized how well detailed the Tamiya kits are!!
Sorry ..no motor and a non opening hood is not what i call detailed

Thanks for coming along for the FUN!
Some sanctioning bodies requires the driveshafts to be white to to make it easier to spot them with they fall out on the track
Couldn't agree more!
That's right! "Push 'em down the stairs"
Thanks for coming along for the FUN!
a tuff looking machine indeed...
Quick - fast - efficient built to perfection
I remember a crew chief saying they paint everything white because it's easier to see cracks in welds and also for heat. Love the unboxing, l can see what l am buying before hand. Thanks friend!

I would build this as a highly modified GT350R street Mustang. No decals on it. Take the wing off and leave it spoiler-less. Nice build.

Just built two of these. One is the Motorcraft car. Silky.
Cool!
I believe the Rust-Oleum deep blue would be a better match, but that looks amazing. Looks like a diecast!
Good call!
That color is what I'm using for my Revell 427 Street Cobra circa 1989. I got 2 from a friend 😃
Great Job, bought this kit after seeing this vid. I have to disagree with you, the white interior/roll cage looks great!

I want to get this kit
Thanks for coming along for the FUN!
really good quality kit but way to expensive for me (edit nvm i was looking at the rc version)
Push em down the stairs lol 😂
Right!
Chassis are white in race cars so cracks can be seen easier

Thanks for the info! I figured I'd listen to the directions and leave it as they said. Plus the pics online showed it white. Pretty cool.
Two days? How do you get your Rustoleum to dry so quickly? Ive used it before and it took about a week to be workable.
Luck?
No issues here unless it's super humid, then it takes days, but I dehumidify the shop. I also spray LIGHT coats, people say they look thick on camera but all wet paint looks thick when sprayed.
I remember hearing this instrumental tune but I can't put my finger on who did? Who did this tune?
