The train was entirely in the crossing well before the bike rider came charging into the crossing. Had the lad been thinking a bit he would never have had to make the emergency turn. Hopefully, this will change their future way of thinking. Just think of the fun & games if they were driving a speedy auto the same way they ride a bike...
When I worked for BNSF back in the late 90s, the punishment for BREAKING THE SEAL was a automatic 5 years and a felony in Federal prison mandatory. Judge could not shave off no time. Others charges were added accordingly...trespassing, entering the container/trailer, then stealing the continents, etc. So again...break the seal automatic 5 years, PLUS additional charges for other crimes committed AFTER breaking the seal...

Now with Virtual Railfan and other railcams, the chances of of criminals getting caught are much higher. The thief on the train didn't notice that there was a railcam or two on the line. If he finds himself being greeted by the railroad cops, the locals or both, he was confused over how he was found. Despite technology does have its bad side, the railcams like the ones on Virtual Railfan and locals prove that technology is proving its worth.
And people complain about wanting to close the border ! They some how get tips when fire arms are being shipped and are breaking into containers looking for them was reading a news article about the epidemic of containers being robbed . The railroad used to have armed police of their own my father after WW 2 was a detective with the old K&I railroad in Louisville . For a few years . I have his old .38 revolver he carried .
The 3/5 bay tanks have very bad stuff in them and they have them set up to prevent excess motion and also might have different types of products in the same tank
The big tanks in 17:20 holds molasses for Animal feed.. how i know is my dad had to unload ot from tbe railcar.. and at one time he worked production..

Looks like the party was in Kansas city at around 2300 or so with all the lights on the Amtrak train... I'd certianlly would like to own those three Georgia Peaches bright engines. Colorado now I know why they call it a birds eye view. A radio/cell phone camera tower? Is Ohio getting ready for a major construction project? The eb Amtrak isn't due in KC for many hours and it uses the lower level for its approach to the station. Kinda blurry but I think that its the rail grinder train.

It's one thing to see rail cars broken into, but when you actually see the person who's breaking into one, now that's crazy. It's a shame that there are people out there who are stealing from trains; there needs to be more done about it.
Sadly, this is actually nothing new! I've heard stories here that back in the Frisco days, people would climb onto the autoracks (they weren't enclosed in those days) and steal transmissions out of the cars, WHILE THE TRAIN WAS MOVING!
Has anyone thought about using the cameras available to inspect the train while it's in motion. The crew can get a good look on their phones, and if they spot something they can alert people.

No idea on those tank cars because they don’t have the warning diamonds with the UN ident number. They are multi-cavity tanks though, so could hold more than one fluid. Anything with a warning diamonds and UN number I can help with
