These look so much better than the 1.0. I think no logo on the side was a smart choice. Minimal aesthetic shoes should be plain and minimal branding. Also, that tan color sole is so much better than a true “gum” sole color. Tolos really did an awesome job here in my opinion. You can tell there’s a lot of thought, effort, and care that goes on behind the scenes. I’d much rather support tolos over some of these big brands like Vivo.
As somebody who tried the 1.0 but had a super hard time getting them on, I am big stoked for these. I feel like I missed out on the first version but Evan told me through his customer service lines that this was coming soon and I’m jazzed.
I never quite pulled the trigger on the 1st iteration but always thought they looked like a great shoe. Seems like some improvements have been made. Cool to hear the behind the scenes stuff. Thanks Jake!
Never managed to get version 1 as my size was always sold out. But I really want to try these out. Gotta jump on v2. Also, I would LOVE to see a high top model blacked out.
great review and interview! i love the 1.0 and wear them every day. I'm psyched for the 2.0 in terms of the improvements, especially the removal of the logo to make them more classic and versatile. I still wear other shoes though when it comes time to do parkour, because of the sole not being grippy enough. I would wear Tolos for parkour IF they had a grippier but still flexible sole. For example, the inov-8 bare-xf 210 v3 as well as the old f-lite 195 (i own both) both have super grippy rubber that wears fairly well and is perfect for parkour (or anything else, since parkour is probably the most intense thing you can do with a shoe).
Looks really nice! I wish that in V3 there will be a sole that is even better, like with better grip, also will be nice to have a shoe (not instead of this, but one more) that will be waterproof for the winter
I agree about the sole. I would wear these shoes 100% of the time for parkour if the sole were a different compound that was grippier without sacrificing flexibility.
Great video. I used to love my old NB Minimus shoes but they don’t make that model anymore. Would this shoe be comparable to those? Is the company based in Denver? I’d love to support a local company as well, this shot straight into my top 2 shoes to try when I buy a new pair.
@@thatfitfriend Thanks. I’m looking for something that is lower in stack height because I like the feel of being lower to the ground. But I also want to be able to do jumps for power/explosive training. Wondering if this would have enough cushion for that or maybe look elsewhere?
Great review. TBH Im a fan of vivobarefoot shoes and now I like to try this TOLOS ARCHETYPR 2.0. I am really excited to have one. Just want to ask if you deliver in UK or do you have SHOP in UK?
I have possible one of the lowest insteps in the world. I would love a version 1, with version 2's upgrades. Sorry, I know everyone is different lol. Even chucks are hard to tie tight enough to my foot lol.
These look sick. I liked the first ones but the tongue was something that stopped me from wearing them. It was so stiff and would push down on the top of my afoot and caused me to cramp during workouts. these look like they should fix that. Side note: what brand hoodie is Evan wearing? Looks comfy lol.
They've worked for my sprints! I've used them for my 20-30 meter speed bouts. Not the most breathable like the first iteration, but should be fine for some sprints here and there
@@thatfitfriend I’ve been running in 210 xf for 1 mi runs before workouts at a 6:30 min mile pace. Do you think I would be up leveling if I replaced them? I like the slight more cushion of tolos and better grip for when I need to anchor
Some complaints on Reddit about the shoe falling apart after 6 months light use and the customer service not being helpful and almost dismissive. Maybe this new one might be better
Not surprised, lol. Reddit people only go to complain mostly, very rarely is it good stuff so I’m sure it seems like it’s a lot. Plus, newer company so I always try to cut some slack as they’ll only typically improve with feedback and data. V2 should have fixed some of these issues.
@@PauloftheSky for sure - good to have varying perspectives, but if we could dial back the whining/entitlement that would be lovely 😂 A lot of folks in my community rock tolos and they seem to do well regarding longevity. I know there were some batches that I believe Evan mentioned had some issues and he’s since hired customer service. Could not imagine starting/running a shoe company by ones self honestly
BOut to pick up a pair, but ya the fella did say that it was probably a batch thing

I just got the 2.0 in all white only to find out they are actually very light blue. They look funny when wearing with white socks, a colour mismatch. Don’t know if I got a dud, the customer service isn’t saying anything. But pretty disappointing.
Hmm, def reach out and ask! That seems like an error - let me know how it goes

@@thatfitfriend Cheers. I reached out, and Evan said it's a production issue. The factories apparently have a hard time dying the mesh material, although the rubber soles and shoelaces are all the same light blue shade despite not being mesh. It looks the worst in artificial light, but still noticeably blue even outdoors. If I had known that before, I would have stayed away. I saw you had a white model in your review, what was it like?
BOOTY STYLE!! SECURE THE BOOTY!! I really hope there is eventually a less than 5mm stack height model. After wearing Merrell Vapors and Vivos, I just can’t wear anything thicker.

Feel that! And I'm with you, I'm very much less is more with branding and like the softer tan color over true gum for a shoe like this

Let's goooo! Keen to hear your thoughts on the rework with these.
Can’t wait to try these out, love what Evan is doing with Tolos
Same. He's a good dude, too, which is an awesome perk for supporting the brand.

Thank you, Luke!
Just ordered a pair. Hoping for the best!

Nearly ordered the 1’s a bunch of times. Will be getting the 2’s
Sick, stoked for your thoughts!
Oh snap!! I love these shoes and this channel, this is nuts
Appreciate you, my friend!
But yeah, I LOVE the new design changes. Nice looking site too.

Not exactly comparable. You’ll have much less cushion in this shoe! Yep! Evan lives & operates out of Den.

Excited to try these out! Had creasing pain issues with the vivo trail fg models (knit & non-knit), so crossing my fingers these work out.
Let's go! Let me know, friend
Can't wait on the review
I just ordered these, I’ve been watching your barefoot shoes reviews .. it was these or Vivo, landed on these all white color way. 🔥✅
Keep me posted on how you like them!

I'm not sure, tbh! Worth trying and seeing.
The 2.0 will be my 3rd pair of the Tolos!
Sick! Love hearing that
Appreciate you Jake !!
Two way street. Appreciate you trusting the brand 🤝
Evan is like 400x cooler than the founder of Xero shoes😂 the shoe also has an awesome look. I’m excited to get mine in.
LOL, don't do him like that!
Ev is a good dood.
can you make an off-white beige color version? And a no tie version?
Let's hope Evan sees this!
In terms of shoe size, safe to go same size as whitins?
Yep! Should be fine
Was there any changes to address the upper separating from the sole that the 1.0 had? Got the updated glue version 1.0 and still had the same problem.
I never had that issue, but I think the reworked TPU overlay should help with that!
Hello, I would love to order them but I live in Belgium (Europe). They don't seem to ship their shoes here on their website unfortunately
Yeah, I don’t believe they have full international yet :/
Let's go!! TF2!

This tongue is a lot softer and should be better in that context, imo. I'm not sure, I'll ask him, lol
Do they ship to Canada?
I'm not sure, tbh!
