Color theory 101: no black (exceptions of lineart, pupils, ect) .and do not shade anything other than grey with grey.

I like to use black, white, and grey with little pinpoints of color on details like eyes or jewelry to make them stand out more. I still make sure the values have a good contrast, but you can absolutely still make some rlly good art using grey!
