- Lupe Fiasco inserts himself in the conversation saying that he will beat any rapper in a battle doesnt matter who. Drake, Kendrick, J Cole, Underground rappers, Battle rappers, and more. He even said that out of 100 lyricist that Kendrick isn't in his top 60 out of 100 rappers??? This is wild. Alot of respect for Lupe but is this true? The Game posted on his instagram Drake's Energy song which is crazy to see him support Drake when him, and Kendrick are both Compton's finest. Is the West Coast Divided? Kendrick has to feel some type of way.

We can’t even say it was a diss verse in the classic sense of the term. But Kendrick is known for “spontaneous” disses in his last 4 bars. Not a Kendrick fan but I’m really trying to find what people see is impressive about him. No bars, can’t really bump him with the wifey driving, don’t wanna overthink about songs I ride to. I haven’t heard not one line that wowed me.

I don’t have any problems with people supporting Drake. It’s strange for Game to choose to back him. Lupe I’m good with him choosing Drake. It’s the other statements he made about Kendrick not being lyrical, and 60 other battle rappers, and underground rappers are better.

Ive always been more of a Kendrick fan over cole until recently...however i nevwr really thought Kendrick was that lyrical ...he just knows how to make great songs imo ...but hes never been that lyrical to me ...i honestly feel drake when actually rapping is more clever and witty ...the problem with drake is he stopped rapping along time ago ...Kendrick has nothing touching 5am im Toronto...
Witty Drake definitely is that. Kendrick is more relatable for me. Plus I enjoy the way he switches flows, and sounds often. 5am in Toronto I went back to relisten to see what I might have missed. It’s the Drake I like where he is aggressive. K Dot has blacker the berry, rigamortus, heart part 5, Black Friday where he flipped J Cole’s song

Kendrick Lamar is dope but I didn't think much of any of his diss tracks. The only one that was hard is in that BET HIP HIP cypher. Sometimes I think people say shit is good because they feel like they are supposed to say it.
I feel that can be said for some people I genuinely like how Kendrick structures his songs and bars better. If I’m going to the club or trying to play rnb i listen to Drake songs.
@@SplashTalkPodcast I think that he has a higher ceiling than Drake. I'm typically going to bump music in the ride. Drake has more songs that I can slap. Songs with more replay value. I thought that Kendrick Lamar was going to be the best when he first came out, but he didn't fulfill his promise. I don't think any of his diss songs sound good. Except he went nuts on the BET Hip Hop cypher. Bro can gas. . . I just don't hear him doing it. I think he has bad taste or something. He seems like he his trying too hard sometimes and it doesn't sound cohesive or sonically pleasing.

Where he sounds pleasing to my ear is because his beat selection usually has influences of soul, and funk music which are 2 genres that were heavily sampled in early hip hop so it touches my roots. Drake just started to use my favorite Rnb artist in his songs and I was actually irritated by it haha. Jodeci & Ginuwine to be specific I didn’t enjoy most new artist sampling them besides Brent faiyaz he does it with flair.
@@SplashTalkPodcast I feel you. But consider this... the hip hop that I think initially moved us all was before the sampling was really the primary tool. I'm thinking Run DMC, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Whodini, Planet Rock, Fat Boys and UTFO. And of course the break dancing songs. There was a lot of drum machines, DJ cuts and etc. Beats like Friends, Hard Times, Roxanne Roxanne and Six in the Morning. The samples were good too. There has always been a original music vs remake thing. And to be clear... I'm not what you would call a Drake fan at all. I'm not really into mainstream stuff and he is the Paragon of commercial music. I just think that Kendrick is often boring or just clever. You might hear a song and think, "That is interesting." Or maybe suggest it to the homie to listen to it. But never play it again. His music is kind of boring. Lukewarm. Drake is McDonald's. But even though the burger is just okay... you know what you are getting and when you are hungry it's pretty good. Plus the fries are fucking crack. Hahaha.
