I grew up in the 70s in SW Colorado, this video brings back great memories, thanks so much. One thing I will mention is the pronunciation is Ouray should be more like youray. Not trying to be critical just FYI. Love your videos and looking forward to your future posts. Thanks again.
Thanks! Appreciate the correction!
Stunning views, your son did a great job with the drone footage!
Glad you enjoyed it
We recently completed engineer, corkscrew, Ophir and last dollar pass. This is the most beautiful drone footage I’ve seen so far!! I haven’t stopped thinking of going back since I’ve been back home.
Thanks so much, glad you liked it!
The whole Ouray area is on my bucket list for Jeeping and because of the beauty that the area has to offer. I also think that I need a dedicated drone pilot with me.
It is gorgeous!
@@ProdigalOverland David kept sending us pics of the area and rubbing it in too.
@@NotICON we are so glad we got to connect with David. We had some fun out there!
Guys… this was the most amazing intro you have ever posted. Incredible. I understand feeling the need to find what Caleb may think others esteem but what he has found and discovered in himself is something that he really needs to recognize. HE IS VALUED!!! Amazing, Amazing work! Can’t wait to see you all again!
Thanks so much for the kind words! We are pumped to meet up again and I’ll pass on the compliments to Caleb!
Agreed! Thank you so much, Cara!
I agree so good
Yur-ay…it’s a beautiful place!
Hi Brad, I’ve followed your videos for about a year now. Your production quality has really improved! I live in Colorado and your son’s drone footage in this intro reminded me of how lucky I am to live here. I drive a 2017 wk2 overland and I plan on purchasing as many Chief Products as I can thanks to your videos. Keep up the good work and maybe I’ll see you on the trails one day.
This trail is on my list. I can't get enough of Colorado, use to live there in Highlands Ranch. Keep saying I'm going to move back but this time in the mountains near Silverthorne. Just feel home when I'm there always have.
Probably my favorite video so far! Great camera work, such a beautiful place.
One of your best videos
I love the fact that your traveling and taking your family along for the ride. I'm happy for you guys! Thanks for the videos!
Absolutely!
Well done. Did ya'all air down your tires to about 20 - 25 psi or leave them full? Thanks and great stuff.
Fantastic! I was in the same area last week I wish I would have bumped into you. Your videos are part of what helped me decide to buy a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and a big part of my inspiration to go out exploring! Thank you!
I'm happy to hear that!
I was taught by a local Ouray rhymes with Hurray, as in to cheer.
I was there last week. Too bad about the cloud at the top, nice drone footage though.
Brad, your prologue about Caleb is priceless and moved me; it shows your love, pride and paternal concern very plainly! Kudos to you and Caleb! And Lauren for coming along despite her fears and anxiety of heights! This is a stunning video!
FYI, parts of this look amazingly similar to the Tzoumerka/Athamanika mountains in the Epirus area in N.W.Greece where I do most of my off-roading! I definitely will have to visit this part of the States in the Fall. (Together, maybe?)
Thanks Evan! It is gorgeous! Worth the stop! It bee fun to go together there sometime!
Prodigal Overland indeed!
Just recently found your channel, and I must say, great content! We just got a New Grand Cherokee and I am for now just dreaming of taking it off road, and living vicariously through your videos! Still all stock, but hopefully not for too long but depends on my wife, haha. Also love the family vibe. Oh, and how you don't have more subscribers is beyond me!
I’m glad you found us! Tell your friends!
I think Caleb was right on with his drone work. Breathtakingly beautiful. Thanks for sharing and taking us along. I hope he enjoys the beauty and artistry of his work. Well done!
Thanks! He did do great!
I think Caleb should look into getting his Part 107 certification. He's really good!
@@thesweet2ma I have mine but he has to wait to be 16 I believe to apply
Wow ! We have done Imogene several times since the early 1980"s. The footage is so awesome !
Thank you!
Man y'all got some good drone footage.
Thanks!
Idk who's right but my family always pronounced it "yur-AY" and "TELL-yoo-ride" or tellyaride.
I road from Telluride to Ouray on my MTB bike over Imogene Pass in the early 90s, but the weather was much better on that day.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride man, I couldn't make it up that way this year and I'm really kicking myself now for taking the little time I had off to r&r because boy do I miss the magic of those mountain passes. That larger structure used to be 2 stories, we have family pics of me and my brother and my mom hanging our heads out the windows of the building back in 2002 it was still in relatively good shape.
Photos do not do the Uncompahgre National Forest justice. Videos almost never do either. But that intro did the forest justice!
Great drone photography and production, well done to your son. 👏
Its great seeing the American wilds through the trails. Spectacular scenery in this video.
I wish we had the off road parks and trails in UK 🇬🇧 like you have in the US 🇺🇸, not the same attitude to the leisure pursuit over here.
Best wishes from Wales 🏴
So Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Nice footage.
Opening music is a bit melodramatic for my taste, but well done, overall!
The shelf road looks a little scary but overall it doesn't look too technical.
Great drone footage and music, makes we want to get out right now. Thanks for sharing a great adventure.
Thanks for watching
If a previous comment didn't say it, it's pronounced you-ray. :) Beautiful scenery.
Nice job to the entire Prodigal crew! Just made a note and put it in my bucket. Think you saying that its not technical lends to the chance to enjoy our great planet in a top 10 spot. Thanks for giving us a 20 minute break from the Arizona heat. Be well. And hats off to Lauren for taking on her fear. I would have been the same way as her but would do it anyway.
Hope you guys are doing well! miss seeing you!
Next time you guys have to join us!
Wish you guys could use 4k cameras, love the content and that would make it even more mind blowing that it already is!!!
We have the cameras for it but actually it's my computer that can't handle the footage. Hopefully come fall we will switch over. But yes I agree!
Nice nice very nice!!
Thanks!
We have a 2020 wk2 but have never taken it offroad. Were you using the snow, sand or rock mode for the tranny?
I agree this was scary but awesome, even though I was scared at the top I’m doing this again next year, I hope
It's pronounced Yer-ay. Awesome drone footage!
Beautiful scenery. Epic drone work!
Thanks a lot!
prounced "YOU-RAY" and "MMM-OGENE"
Always love when you are here in Colorado! That was a beautiful video, Brad! Loved the drone footage
Thanks so much !
It doesn't matter where you go, it is almost impossible to find more beautiful places than the Rockies in Colorado! Another great video and great job by your son of capturing the beauty in the drone footage.
The absolute best vacation I have ever had was when my wife and I along with another couple that knew the area, spent 10 days riding 4 wheelers in the Gunnison National Forest. We timed the trip successfully to catch the first snowfall and the Aspens changing color.
A question about your trip. How did all of the vehicles perform at altitude? The highest elevation we were at was 13,020 and I noticed what seemed to be a drop in power. Just curious how your vehicles performed.
They did well but I could tell they were working harder.
If you are ever closer to the Denver area in Colorado let me know, me and my family would love to follow you in our Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. You guys are the reason we went with the Trailhawk and it would be an honor to hit the trails with you.
Thanks for the support! We are heading to Moab next.
Dude!! We passed you on the trail June 30th. That 6 wheeled tour vehicle posed a problem for us as we met it going opposite directions in a narrow section. I noticed your WK2 that had so many badges on it and wondered to myself if it was you. Too cool! If I had known, I would have stopped and introduced my wife and myself to you. I enjoy your vids. Keep them up as I also have a WK2 that I am building up.
Awesome, You should have stopped us. We usually have a patch or a sticker with us to give out!
Fantastic video and great footage, thanks!
Great video - fantastic drone work!
Incredible drone shots!!! I am hoping to go out there for the first time next May. Also my first video of your's I have watched and it was awesome stuff.
I’m glad you found us!
So glad to have been a part of this and looking forward to more combined adventures! And yes Caleb rocks !
Yes for sure, looking forward to more rides!
That opening minute was what expeditions are made for. Absolutely gorgeous out there.
On a side note, how many times did that 392 stop for gas? 😂
We just passed him on the trail, when I saw the bronze tow hooks, I knew exactly what it was!
Was this actually shot in July? I’m planning trips on how soon I can return up to the mountains 😎
yes it was
Yes, it's u-ray, not o-ray.
Over the top videography. You're right. He got it. And got it in a big way.
Thanks!
Where is the Grand Cherokee roof box in the video? Please tell me where to buy
The rack is made by Gobi Racks out of Colorado
That trail is in my backyard..Looks to be the month of May?
End of June actually. Beautiful!
Great drone footage ....
Brad, please pass along to your son, he did a really great job filming with the drone
I let him know. Thanks!
Great shots, your son has the eye, what equipment are you using?
the drone was the mavic air2s
These videos make me love and appreciate my Jeep Summit even more....eventhough my Jeep is basically just used as a grocery getter 🤭
This is fantastic. Good job Caleb.
Thanks!
I'm with Lauren, I'd have to invest in some Depends in order to do that. That Black Bear Pass video had me freaking out BEFORE the Wrangler went tumbling by! I was thinking to myself, "What are you people, nuts!?!"
She's glad to know she is not alone!
@@ProdigalOverland, it occured to me that Imogene Pass is probably in the same area as Black Bear Pass and as it turns out, it's just down the road from there. Don't tell me that you're going to do Black Bear Pass to get one of those Jeep Badge of Honor emblems!?! If so, you're going to give that poor woman a heart attack! I might consider it......if there was a gun to my head. Otherwise, I'd be like "Sorry, I'm going to have to sit this one out."
@@jimwheeler6094 Well there was drone footage of the switchbacks in there, along with Bridal Veil Falls.
Spectacular footage , your son’s got a future in video! Thanks for sharing.
Excellent
Stunning visuals
Wow. What am amazing journey.
Yes it was!
Отличное видео, виды потрясающие, всегда мечтал попасть в Колорадо со времен фильма Сияние))) Удачи Вам и Вашей семье!!!
Was there over Fourth of July weekend. So much fun
Man that wrangler 392. That's a sick rig.
Please tell me you have footage of you doing black bear pass coming soon. My wife, some friends, and I will be heading out to the Ouray area in September to jeep the trails. They all have Wranglers and we have a 2019 GC Trailhawk. We plan to do black bear pass as well as many of the other trails while we are there.
I was a passenger in a JLUR back in 2008 and it was amazing going down Black Bear and back over Imogene, but that's not a road for those with a dislike for heights. I do plan to get out to Ouray either this year (unlikely) or next but I think I'll give the descent from the top a hard pass. I'd do it in a Wrangler but I don't think I'd be comfortable taking my WK2 2018 TH down the steps and switchbacks. Especially since the brakes have never really felt right, despite three Jeep dealerships saying they're fine.
Another incredible video.
Always looking forward to your families adventures!
Definitely bucket list material.
That drone shots into was killer.
Those arial shots are cinematic and look professional all day long, then add the dramatic music, and I thought I was in a movie theater for a sec. Well done gang.
ps...my wife would freak out on that trail, heck I'd be nervous.
Glad you liked it. It was gorgeous!
Amazing video! This is on my top 5 lists of places to go.
If your planning a trip out in CO area.. how many days/weeks would you recommend to spend in the area? There’s so much to explore! Look forward to your future videos.
Cheers!
I'd say at least a week. But you could spend more time and find things to do.
Amazing video! Great photography, good music, good narration.
I did the trail on July 15th this year all the way from Florida along with 8 others including Black Bear. I was a bit more fortunate on the views at the top as I had a crystal clear day. Not so on Black Bear 2 days earlier where I had heavy rain, hail and sleet coming down the steps and switchbacks. I did Imogene in the opposite direction as well.
There's no way I captured the beauty of it as you did! Thanks for the memories!!
Thanks for watching!
Spectacular scenery. Thanks for sharing this! I don’t know if I will ever get to see this scenery in person. It’s so beautiful and awesomely BIG, - I’d imagine it must feel surreal at times.
It sure does! Amazing stuff
I would say your son killed it on the drone work!🔥🔥🔥 keep up the good content and a big thanks from this JGC trail hawk owner!
Thanks for the feedback!
I did Stony Pass a couple of weeks ago. This area is next!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼⛰👊🏼
You will love it!
Great Vid love the camera view from the jeep as it really shows the terrain you’re driving on. Your son did a great job with the drone footage also. 🤙
Thanks!
Great video! Are you using a Skydio 2 drone?
No, we are using the mavic air2s
@@ProdigalOverland Thank you!
Great quality of video~~ I'm happy to watch your good quality video.
Thank you very much!
Awesome scenery!!!! Thanks 😁
When was this? If you don’t mind.
Just the other week
I was thinking early June with that much snow left. Planning next year this drive.
Thanks. This has amazing drone footage and overall brilliant movie.
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome! That’s on my list too and I’ll be up there in about 10 days
Have a blast!
What a beautiful trail, its my dream to head out here. Too bad it wasnt the best weather for yall :/
It's worth the trip!!
Thanks for sharing this one. The views are nice and I bet even better in person.
It was incredible!
Fantastic video! CO trails on the bucket list!
It should be!
Fantastic footage!! Well done young man! 👏
Glad you enjoyed it
Really great drone footage. Whatever his reasoning for shooting what your son does, it reveals an innate talent. The opening few minutes prove that God loves us!
Absolutely!
Wow, I loved this vid. Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
Beautiful place
Awesome Trip! thanks for the ride! cheers
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful!!!
Amazing work
