The latest innovation in database is the autonomous database released as part of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
It has features such as automated tuning, automated patching etc.
It is covered as part of the free OCI Foundations associate certification
    Thanks

I’m currently enrolled in a web software development associates degree program, interested in working as a DBA, I’m told by a friend of mine currently working as a DBA that there’s really no schooling for it (he completed the web software development program that I’m enrolled in) so basically should I just pair certifications along with that degree to better increase my odds of eventually becoming a DBA?

Hi @CBT Nuggets. I have no previous IT experience. Starting this august, I will be enrolled in Associates degree Program in Network Administration. Python language is already included in the program. After finishing the program if I learn SQL, Will i be able to get jobs as a Database Administrator if i do not have Bachelors degree?

Hi Reza! Thank you for your question. It really depends on your passion and drive!
To be a Database Administrator, you'd want to learn SQL, Postgres, and a few other SQL languages. Microsoft, AWS, and Oracle are the big vendors to look into. If you get an associates in Program Network Administration, I'd make sure you have Python down really well. Going outside of your degree, and doing Database Administration, that will require a lot of building and self driving education. We have quite a bit of content with Database Administration. We also have virtual labs that can assist in your hands on experience.
With your college work, we encourage you to continue down that path, and see if you really like it and as a side skill, work on databases. Both are great career paths!
Let us know if you have any other questions, we're happy to help.

Hi Benjamin, thank you for your question!
The Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate (1Z0-071) course that we have on our site is 63 videos, with 6 hours of video content, along with 6 virtual labs and a practice exam. Depending on your comfort with the material, the course may take your more or less time than that. As with any exam, you’ll want to make sure that you prepare well and are ready for the exam.
More information on the actual exam is available from Oracle directly here: education.oracle.com/products/trackp_457

These certifications are nearly all out of date, I think. Certainly, the MTA Database cert is no longer available.
