I don't see how a degree is even remotely helpful. I'm a lead developer and DBA and have no degree. I lead people with multiple masters degrees and I can't see what good it does them at this job. They definitely have more letters after their name than I do...and more loans to pay off.

Depends on the workarea you are in. For years and years i havr been programming just in sql t-sql and pl/sql. Backend developing programming in database without c or other languages.

Shalaka you don’t need a degree for databases, it’ll also most likely earn you a very nice raise just learning SQL
