    Canadian fighter, Dave 'The Nomad' Leduc is the biggest name is Lethwei, Burmese Bareknuckle Boxing today.
    Undefeated in 11 Lethwei fights, 5-0-6.
    Dave Leduc is the current openweight Lethwei World Champion and current
    WLC Cruiserweight World Champion.
    In 2016 he became the first non-Burmese fighter to win the Lethwei World title.

      Tony Ferguson is one of the best fighters in the world!
      Dave Leduc fought never a world class fighter. There's plenty of fighters at his own weight that a willing to fight him, but obviously he don't want that since he know he will get exposed. He fights at open weight and chooses smaller opponents.

      Hard mofos for sure, they have very short careers tho, personally I wouldn't want to have a fighting career in Lethwei/Muay Boran/Bokator Khmer (all three martial arts are very very similar because come from same area), but they are extremelly effective :D

      Lifting gives you the looks and these guys dont lift much because thats fatigue that could have been used in other workouts that help you more as a fighter. Ive been doing gym my whole life and got into muay thai 1 year ago, i kinda wish that i could just stop doing gym and use that fatigue to train muay thai instead but i love my appearance too much, dont want to lose it.

    6:56 the fighter Too too who was in blue fighting dave in red was one of the best in the sport. The Myanmar government took him and killed him unfortunately, very sad I was actually really affected when I read the story about how he was fighting for the peaceful democratic leaders and they found him and most likely its speculated they tortured and killed him. REST IN PEACE TOO TOO I never knew you but watching you inspired me in my own battle of sorts

      Fun fact: The combat sport lethwei comes from the neighboring conurry of Thailand called Burma (Myanmar) but yes Thai fighter are very honorable and humble can’t agree more

      Gold. Inc he’s tall and has a fixed weight, the smaller guys have to give up their optimal fighting weight to meet his, in order to fight. That’s the basis of the whole Traditional Lethwei and that’s why it’s flawed, and unfair for smaller guys.

    His skills are off the charts....As a fighter and Muay Thai , Kali stick and k*fe fighting "practioner" and fellow Canadian (Toronto),
    I've looked up to him for years. Dude literally said fu*k it, started destroying all comers in a sport he was new to. In a county he wasnt from. In my mind, one of the true legends in combat sports. If I ever get the chance to meet him, it'll be a strong handshake,
    then I bow on my knees to the true master. That said, sparring with him is the thing of nightmares.

      @@braveheart4922 Most of Dave's fights are against heavier oppoennets. His last two fights were against American opponents with 20-25lbs heavier than him, won by KO both of them. However the best fighters and most difficult fights in Lethwei are shorter because they have the advance for headbutts.

      Lethwei is brutal and came from the battlefield. Muay boran and Khun khmer also used headbutts and all 9 limbs in the battlefiled but took them out for ring sport.

    It's a different with different set of rules and techniques. He uses his size and reach, keeps you guessing if the front kick is going to the body or right in your face. He became famous in Myanmar for a reason.

    Lethwei is savage, I like it for its traditional South East Asian boxing authenticity. Muay Thai is great but you can see a vast difference between Lethwei and Muay Thai. Muay Thai was reformed with an emphasis on elbows, kicks with little regard to punching in its modern sport focus.

    How on earth is the shorter fighter supposed to headbut a taller guy.. Just like in clinching the advantage goes to the taller fight.. Not very fast hands and feet.. Fighters should be of same height and weight if headbutts included..

      Back in 90s, I saw a match where a shorter guy flew like superman and head-butted right into the chest of his opponent and knocked him out of the ring. We call it "BALAR GAUNG" and it is deadly when it comes from a shorter person.

      @@boshirahmed But as far as I see, Lethwei fighters are pretty weak at wrestling. I saw most of them train their bodies to increase tolerance to knuckles and knees.And they are very proud of how they take beating and still standing in the rings. Obviously, Dave beats the hell out of standings.

      Please do enlighten me, what does real fighting look like and what works in street scenarios? Mma, thai/lethwei, boxing, wrestling, bjj are all amazing effective arts that translate well to the street and develop fighting instinct. Now let’s compare that to wing chun, taekwondo, aikido, hapkido and other McDojo arts which try to imbue you with predetermined responses to every attack. I have tried both types of arts and quickly learnt which is effective.

      Really wide stance, let's him generate a ton of force. Its pretty unconventional, but as you can see he close distance really fast and uses knees as uppercuts. He is a really talented dude, he has won grappling contests too. I think a shot at MMA would be interesting. He is really tall 170lb, with that striking he would really be really entertaining to watch for sure.

    If only I joined my gym earlier so I could have met Dave with my Cousin, my Cousin met and has a video with him over at our Gym that does Muay Thai, Dutch Kickboxing. I’m sad 😔 Dave came at the gym here in colorado about 3 months ago for a Seminar teaching his combos

      Dear sir, that's not true. Dave is 6'2 Yilmaz 6'0, Jallon 6'3, Bacynski 6'3, Washinton 5'11, Nilmungkorn SudsakornGym 5'11 ect..
      As fo the Burmese fighter he faced they were smaller, but we have to understand that headbutts (without talking if the fight grew up using them) they are way easier on a taller fighter because your forehead goes directly on the jaw. As for taller fighter, they have to drop their level in order to reach the jaw of a smaller opponent. Also Dave fights like a short man, as he always goes inside where his reach is nullified. Dave often said that the strongest opponents he faced where the Burmese, who were smaller, and tougher, instead of the taller foreigners.

Its harder for the taller men to land headbutts as have to drop their level whereas shorter man have their forehead already aligned on the jaw of their opponents. Also given the facts that Dave mostly fight in the clinch, he completely gives away his reach advantage and fights like a short man. Dave's hardest fight were against the shorter Burmese. If being tall was the only thing needed to become champion, then all champions would be the tallest, but it's not the case, you have to be skilled.     Couldn't hack it in muay thai, couldn't hack it in MMA, moves to Lethwei where the competition is lacking and becomes champion in 11 fights, goes on Joe Rogan, suddenly everyone thinks he's hot shit. I don't get it, his striking technique is garbage and every compilation I see of him, he's fighting absolute fools. It's like when Andy Kaufman became the women's wrestling champion of the world except everyone takes this dude seriously.
