  • Well, this sucks. Do I find a replacement or just get rid of the car...? I also forgot to mention that the oil filter sandwich plate was being used for an oil temp sensor. I was making a video on that install, but I never got finished with it...

definitely time for over sized pistons, forged rods, ported head, oversize valves. Don't give up on us now.. I am so close to getting my 1.6 kraken low-mount build together. Hang in there

Not something that is fun to admit but, this might save a couple people looking to install one on there car. Which makes you the hero.

Sorry to hear that man! That sucks!
Now I’m not doubting you double checked but are you sure this is oil pressure related? It may well be that the sensor is bad and something else is causing the issue and lifter tick. Even if it is oil pressure If it spins freely still I would remove the sandwich plate and, change the oil ( check for glitter) and try starting it. Maybe the sounds are loud lifter tick and would go away once you have good pressure again.
Either way if the engine is dead then it’s just time to build it back better than ever! More material for videos too. Hope things work out man!

Yeah. I’ve looked at an “oil flow” diagram in the FSM. If there is no oil passing through the oil filter, essentially everything is starved.

@@ConnorsCorner1 😐 well I guess it’s time to build back better and shoot for high power 😬 any reason why you don’t want to go 1.8 though?

Just saw your other reply about kit buying a new manifold. New rods and pistons for 1.6 it is then 😁😁

@@ConnorsCorner1 In my plans for my 1992, I will definitely stay NA. I have thought of a 1.8 swap, but I lean towards building an optimized 1.6 (despite its limitations). I would look forward to that on your channel.

I had a similar scare with mine. with the sensor, got some shimmery oil but flushed it good and it appears to be fine now.
Now youve got an opporunity to do rods!
