  • Installed a set of Bilstein 5100s on my 2023 Ram 1500 etorque. Got the kit fully assembled from suspensionlifts.com with the fronts being on clip #5, which is roughly 1.7" of lift in the front. During the install I found an easy way to install the front struts which will save a TON of time for anyone else who wants to install these. Truck came out looking SWEET, almost perfectly level with a tiny bit of rake, which is exactly what I was shooting for.
    Have plenty more mods for the truck that I will be making videos on, so if you want to see more don't forget to hit that subscribe button!
    This is the EXACT kit I bought.

    Looks amazing. Installing the 5100 on my 21 built to serve edition.

    Connor's Corner.. The upper control arms are not technically plastic. They are steel with plastic over mold on them to add a little bit of rigidity but mainly to help with corrosion. If you try a magnet on the you will find that the magnet does stick to the control arm indicating that they are in fact metal.

    There's an Allen key on the top to keep it from spinning the shaft on the shocks. If you rake out the ucs at least mark the camber bolts. So when your on your way to the alignment shop you don't drag ur tires. A million ways to skin a cat. Glad you got it.

    Yeah a lot of the other videos remove the caliper, bang the control arm with a hammer, looks like a pain but your way is way easier. I’m going to be doing this job soon and I feel better about doing it now, thanks and good video!

    Great video. Was wondering what running boards you have on your truck? Thanks.

    Question, wondering how everything is holding up since the install?
    I installed these 5100’s on my front suspension of my 2020 Ram Rebel, along with Ready Lift UCAs & new links. I have a lot of clunking coming from the front suspension. My question is, with this set up do you think it puts too much stress on the CV axles? Wondering how your CV’s have held up.
    Thanks man, love your videos 💪

    Great video! How does it drive? Any issues? Asking since I see the kit doesn't have new UCAs like the mopar 2" lift has.

    great video, appreciate the clear instructions for getting the UCA out of the way and placement of the front strut. I am thinking of keep the stock for the rear but only swap out the fronts with the 5100s (clip 5), looking for a front level only that would raise the front 1.5 - 1.8 in. Do I hv to swap out the rear also?

      What did you end up doing? I was thinking of doing the same with my' 23 Laramie.

    Made a comment to one of your replies on another video. Dunno if you’ll see it. What exhaust did you end up with? You mentioned you might go back to stock?

    Did you have any rubbing issues prior to leveling the truck? Just ordered 275/60/20 tires with the Lock Offroad Krawlers with -18 offset.
    Ill be doing the Fox 2.0 leveling kit later this month

    I just bought same rims in 22” for my Laramie. Did oem night edition lug nuts work for these lock rims or did you need aftermarket?

    Just got a ‘23 and looking at doing this. Any reason why you went with this kit vs something like the Motofab 2” leveling pucks?

      Pucks ride like trash this’ll keep your truck close to riding stock also keeps warranty so I’ve bren told

    Have you noticed any change in fuel mileage?

    • @ConnorsCorner1
      @ConnorsCorner1  Год назад +1

      I have yes. With the front level AND the 33s, I lost 1-1.5 mpg. Didn't drive the truck hardly any with the new wheel/tire setup before I threw the level on, so I'm not sure which of those 2 mods is more to blame.
      If I had to guess, I'd say the NEW wheels/tires weigh a good bit more than the factory setup AND since they're poking out the are adding drag. I would imagine they are a bigger contributing factor to the MPG reduction than the Bilsteins are.

    Should have gone with the 6112s instead of the 5100s.

    The whole spring cost is a waste there the same as stock why spend 500 bucks more

  • @josephsantana3094
    @josephsantana3094 9 месяцев назад +1

    Hard to justify the cost of the assembled kit when you're getting the same factory springs that are already on your truck but they want $500 more it.

      $500, where are you seeing them that cheap…?This is the EXACT kit I bought, just disassembled and no springs, currently on sale for $706 down from $811. For an extra $140, I’d much rather not to have to mess with a spring compress, AND get new top hats AND new springs.
