Nice Jeep! When I start to build mine, a lot of people say no don’t go to 37s - you need 1 tons - you will break the 44s…. So after 8 years on 37s on my Diesel JKUR with much more torque than the Penta - I still drive the D44. Now I start to collect the parts to go for 40s. I want to beef up the axles a little - sleeves and C-trusses an Chromoly Axle shafts … and then I hope it works as lang as it do with the 37s - if not … I go the way of - build, break, repeat. An old saying here in Germany “- the people says it can’t work… than someone come and he don’t know that - and so he do it….”

New subscriber here and I'm really enjoying your videos. Love the build of your Jeep. Looks very clean and well done and I love that you've used bolt on off the shelf parts that anyone can buy instead of specially fabricated pieces. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful tough-looking rig, you should be very proud of it. I am still running my stock 33” tires since I didn’t see a reason to immediately trash perfectly good tires. I will wear those out and then only probably go to 35’s since I am not a boulder-climbing guy, I am more into over-landing type trails. Nor do I want to have to trash the whole suspension/drive train from the perfectly good one that came on my Rubicon. To each his own, I perfectly respect the choices and mods you did, you have created a great-looking, capable rig, enjoy it!
Glenn I agree with you there is no reason to Replace something if it’s not broken. I hope you enjoy your over landing and I hope you enjoy nature out there that’s what it’s all about and that’s what my wife and I try to do when we’re out on a trail.
What type of off roading do you do? I only ask because 40's on the the stock axle housings is said to be a no no. I have the same upgrades + sleeved, and trussed, but I run 37's.
Check out Rebel off road coil overs also can't go wrong with the Tera flex long arm kit great looking jeep would like to meet up some time in a trail. Broomfield keeper here.
I was looking at your front axle setup and I notice that you did not have the C-GUSSETS. However you have everything from CV, Reid Racing and Diff Armor. I guess I don't feel so bad with 37" without C-Gussets.
This is sick build! This inspires me to to go 40s with my dana 44. Have you upgraded your drive shaft at all during the making of this vid? Thanks man!
Hi John! Thank you so much 😊 I have upgraded front and rear drive shafts to adams drive shafts and I am glad it inspires you as long as you’re not being extremely hard on your Jeep and you beefup your axles I think you’re fine to run 40s
Love your build! How long have you been running the 40s on the Dana 44s? And any issues with them so far? I’m on 37s right now, but thinking about jumping up to 40s
All depends on build weight and driver mod. You can break a Dana 44 on 35s. I’m currently running suped up Dana 44s on 40s but rock crawl emphasis on the crawl. Wheel speed kills axles.
Have you ever used 4.88 Axle Gears on your 40" tires? I was just thinking that it would possibly give you better mpgs to counter act running heavy wheels and tires.
Got a 2012 with 120,000 only had 1 problem, which was the oil pressure sending sensor. Other than that she is still running strong. Enjoyed your videos.
I would stay away from the coil-overs. I heard they are set and are best at a specific weight. If you change the weight of your jeep at all then the coil-overs will not be as affective. Just what I heard. Love your Jeep though. 60’s axles and long arms would be awesome on your Jeep. That would be the ultimate set-up for off-roading.

Nice Jeep brother
What a nice looking rig. Need to see it flex. It looks so clean. Great build
I’ll try to get it on a ramp or a boulder one of these days

Great advice I’m a big fan of rebel off-road and the teraflex long arm kit seems very nice 😎
Absolutely if you see us please stop us to say hi
Clean Jeep, and love the "don't follow me" sticker!
How often you check the tq of your beadlocks?
Nice jeep congratulations

Looks great, man. I need to look into those headlights. What bracket are you using for the front track bar?
Thank you I’m using an aftermarket teraflex bracket

About 6 months and no issues at all
Don’t do it … without having at least a 60 in the rear

@@outsidewithdj how much more does a 60 cost vs building a 44?
What wheel spacers and offset rims are you running? Thanks

That’s a very interesting point. We run 5:13 on it and gas mileage… well is not the best but thankfully it’s not our daily driver. 😅
@wsjovrlnd MPG is a main concern as I base nearly everything on how things might affect a vehicle as a daily driver.
I would suggest doing an axle truss front and rear. Some c-gussets are a must as well. Happy trails 🤝🏻
Are those oem control arms?
How many miles are on it? I have a JLU Willys with the 3.6 engine. 37k miles and no problems yet
75k strong

Teraflex HD
