    @Edward Shin, Great dive into the mods you're doing! 👍🏼👊🏼Personally, I would truss any 5-lug axle running 40s, especially with such aggressive tires like Cooper's. Axle wrap and excessive torsion is a very real thing with all of that dynamic weight turning on such a small axle shaft. Maybe ask Nate @Dirt Lifestyle to help you do that?! And with 1-ton axles and 40" tires you won't lose ground clearance. I had Mickey Thompson 40" tires on my '87 Bronco w/1-ton F-350 axles back in the day and I never had a ground clearance issue, and only a one time minor issue with being high-centered down a deeply rutted mud trail.
    I ran 37" STT Pros on my '99 F-350. They are a GREAT tire. They are the only tire I'd run over BFGs and Wildpeaks, but nowadays they are cost prohibitive compared to BFG & Wildpeaks.

    You went really deep on the gears, for the diesel. In the JL/JT Eco Diesel Jeep pages the general consensus is 38-40’s is 4:56 and 4:88 for more of a trail only side.
    Speaking of 40’s only on the Eco’s
    4:10 get 20mpg
    4.56 get ~23mpg
    4:88 18-20
    5:17 16-17
    Sweet spot for most have been 4:56.
    I’m on 38’s still rolling 3:73’s and on average get 18.5-20mpg. I would love to regear but not for awhile. Still have loads of torque and I do tow. I’m pushing 68k miles on our 21. Banks power was a nice power bump but for about same price GED has emission complaint tune that been getting great reviews as well. Now EOC across the north border has full on weight loss and seem to be the best on everything from a spectator’s perspective. Looks great.

    At least wear the balljoints out first, but you should swap them aluminum knuckles.
    I run 37 sst pros on my 2djl. They do great in deep snow, but its hell driving on snow-covered roads that others have driven. It wants to drag you into deep snow or ruts pretty bad. Its even worse in my shorter wheelbase. Not the tires fault, just the way it goes with big wide tires in the snow.
    I'll be replacing the sst with another set of sst, outstanding tire.

    You made the right choice with Rockrawler suspension, I feel their suspension is the best on the market for jeeps, I’ve owned 14 jeeps and always used rock crawler, just received my new 2023 392 and my parts came in last week from Rockrawler 4 1/2 inch lift very similar to yours, I have a set of 37 inch tires and a set of BFG 39 1350s I’m going to test both out and see what I like best, I like the way you have set up your jeep you’ve used good quality components, and you should have good luck with those tires, i’m considering those same wheels I’m just concerned about the legality of running bead locks here in Northern California on the road, I would think if an officer knows it’s a beedlock and pulls you over and you’re out of town what would happen? Could they stop you from driving? did you install flip kit for your drag link? thanks for the video!!! you do a good job with these!!👍

    • @vincentmamotos9937
      @vincentmamotos9937 Год назад +1

      heres an exact build you can get for your axles that will be the the best you can get before 1 ton. RCV front axle shafts, front and rear axle truss (including C gussets), rear 35 spline chromoly axle shaft WITH SET 80 bearings, reid racing knuckle for the front. That exact combo is the ultimate strengthening you can do to these m210/m220 advantek axles without going to 1 tons. That's not including the cost of the regear AND the 35 spline carrier you need in the rear. With what I've listed, you're looking at an easy 3k in parts alone. You will need the ARB 35 spline rears to fit those rear axle shafts I listed and thats another 1k on top.

    • @vincentmamotos9937
      @vincentmamotos9937 Год назад

      @@J.Young808 1 tons are absolutely not cheaper. Not at the slightest. Theres 2 ways to go about it. Go buy a crate 1 ton that comes out of the box ready to be installed directly which costs around 15k+ for front and rears OR get a junkyyard 1 ton and fix it up yourself (gears, hubs, shafts,) which is pretty hard to find these days and you have to deal with scalpers. Not to mention they run ALOT heavier than the 1tons that are direct swap. With what i listed, you're looking at around maybe 5k on the low end and you'll be as close to 1 tons without spending the money. And yes, Sport S is the way to go if you know youre gonna be havily modding it. I got my sport S in 2021 and with all the mods that I listed, its WAY MORE bulletproof than a stock rubicon and still be around 10k cheaper than rubicon MSRP. Only difference than my sport S now and a rubicon is the transfer case ratio. But my axles are WAY WAY stronger. Not to mention fron and rear AIR lockers.

I was in the Firewood buisness and only 1 time i broke a long side front axle with a Cord of Oak loaded on , and i made the mistake of backing up a hill due to easy loading of wood ! I had to backup about ten feet to turn around and POP !! Other than that The Rubicon trail or 3ft of snow Never bothered the 44 , But i wasn't hamming the gas peddle all the time and that makes a huge difference

      Thanks gramps. The problem is the new Jeep Dana 44s are not the old schools 44. The only similarity is the name.

      @@dudleybaggerman9574 lighten up Francis. It’s called a joke when your first comment on the video starts with “ Boys listen up”. 😂😂😂. Secondly you have no idea how much home work I’ve done and third you have no idea how young I am. But you are Ina roll and also struggled with reading comprehension thinking “ in my words” I sad the current D44 offered even compare to the old school D44s. When I was a kid I was running Waggoner Dana 44s and Scout Dana 44s so put that in your old man pipe Gramps. 😉
