- I bought this 'light stand' to mount my little Sony X300 video cam on when I'm out on a photoshoot. It extends to a whopping 2 metres tall, is fairly compact and light, and costs less than $50 Australian.
The unit itself is good, but the instructions (and some reviewers) lead you to believe it has a ball head. It does not. It has a simple tilt head, so watch out for that.
I believe I'll keep this and give it a lot of work to do.

That's an interesting stick. A monopod that doesn't fall when you put it aside. 😉
Could be useful as a lightstand indeed, if it's stable enough when extended, but I might be more inclined to trust lightstands that have wider legs!
So long as it's light *sic and on level ground, it should be fine
@@GregCarrick The lights themselves are pretty light, it’s just when I attach a softbox that it might get unbalanced!
@@TimvanderLeeuw oh yeah, that might be a bit too much for it :)
I have a shorter version, the MT-71, pretty much the same design, it’s a great piece of kit.
Bought it to use with a GoPro for vlogs, also use it on a desk with my phone and as a light stand for macro photography.
Very versatile piece of gear
Is it a weird little tripod or is it a light stand ? ... 🦘
It's whatever you can mount to the top of it :)
