  • This week is a build video on the walnut dining table I just finished for my home. I went with a more modern look for this one. Love how the Rubio Monocoat Pure turned out for the finish.

    I would like to give a special thanks to Peachstate Lumber in Kennesaw, GA. They were nice enough to donate the wood for this table. If you are local to the Atlanta area, I would strongly encourage you to go check out their great selection. I’ll leave a link to their website below to find out more information.

    Very well done. Easy to follow. Easy to listen to. You hit the high points and fast forwarded through your procedure. The worst videos out there, and there millions, are those people out there that go on and on and on about nothing. Those people I think just want to hear themselves talk. Such a well made refreshing, clear, concise video. Thank you. Please make more like this.

    The big scare for me on flush aprons is that it seems like an inset apron can hide the seam better, however, the seam/joint you showed in the beauty shots at the end was about as perfect as it gets! LOTS of careful tool setup and craftsmanship are required for that so major props. Beautiful table!

    Jason I ordered the plans and they were very well done the only concern is that you didn’t source the materials like the the Z clips or the adjustable felt Feet. The only adjustable feet I can find are only an inch and a half in diameter with a quarter 20 thread count stud. Is that sufficient to what you used or were more substantial! Thanks and awesome channel!

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  4 года назад +1

      First, thank you for purchasing the plans! The z clips I usually get from Rockler. I usually get the felt feet from HD and use the 1 1/2” as well. The only thing you may want to try and find is metal threaded inserts that will accept quarter 20 thread. With that being said I typically just use the plastic ones and haven’t experienced issues. Mainly because the feet are barely protruding just to allow for the legs not scratching the floor.

    Jason, one more domino question. I am just starting to use domino system and was planning on using 2 8x50 in my apron to leg joint but my apron is only 3.125 “ tall. It’s seams a little tight and am wondering if I would better off to go with one 10x50 domino centered in the apron? Also will the Rubio Monocoat protect the wood from glasses that might sweat while sitting on the table. Thx

      Sean Henry we just buy our chairs because we prefer upholstered chairs.

    How far from the edge of the table to you start the C channel? If this were a live edge table would you start closer or farther away?

      I based mine off of where I had my apron. I personally wanted mine inside where the apron was going to be. I think I would want mine as close the the ends as possible.
