🙏 Thank you. I like the gentle approach. How soon after the fracture incident should one begin physical therapy? I have an appointment in 5 days and it feels too soon, my accident was 2 weeks ago.
PT can be very helpful even early before the fracture is healed. The primary goal in the beginning is to teach you how to move safely with a fracture, use good body mechanics, sleeping positions, pain management, and gentle decompression exercises to relieve pressure on the fracture. . In general early intervention education is helpful. But you do not need more PT until after its healed and you can begin strength exercise. Absolutely communicate your concerns to your therapist.
Thanks so much for this video, I was recently diagnosed with #L3 and bulging discs x5 after sudden back pain (no fall or trauma).Apart from the pain I have experienced so much fear about what my future will look like. Im 66, still working until this. Your approach is so gentle, thank you! New sub here!
I did your exercise this morning Lisa & actually had a sleep in this position awoke then another set of 3. Honestly felt straighter & less tight afterwards. Thankyou so much, really appreciated this exercise xx( Betty , N. Ireland)
Thank you so much. My orthopedic physician said I can do nothing until 2 to 4 months have passed. I know that is incorrect. Thus, you give me hope .. and encouragement. I appreciate this so much.
Thank you so much. Shall definitely browse your channel for other exercises as have been doing very similar as shown (positioning of feet slightly wider apart) recommended by Sara Meeks (Psysio Therapist) which have helped immensely.
Thank you for this. Did I hear you say that these exercises are a good place to start AFTER your fractures heal?
