- During the Parana State Velocross Championship, Gabriela Valentini would suddenly go over her handlebars and slam into the ground on a turn, the bike then flew and hit her, she died shortly after been taken to the hospital.
There's something so haunting seeing someone still slightly moving after an accident caught on tape, knowing they died just later. RIP Gabriela Valentini
It is terrible, but is at the end dead? It seems that it was hard crash but not so hard to cost his life.
@@childofcascadia So sad.....

I flipped a 400 lb street bike trying to stop before I rear ended a brake checker, and I think it might have fallen on me because I had a broken hip and the craziest bruise I've ever seen.

Absolutely EVERYONE that rides has crashed like this... multiple times if you have raced or really ridden MX enough... it's crazy how the bike landing in the wrong spot or your head/neck getting hit wrong can be the difference between walking away or gone forever... sad she lost her life racing and having fun... my kids ride now and want to get into racing... I know the odds are highly in their favor but still makes me hella nervous... RIP young lady 💯
I've raced for years both dirt and street and never had my front brake lock up out of the blue. Someone fkd up badly who bled the brake or changed the tire last. Mechanical failure due to neglect is my guess. But yes we all crashed badly but this was very odd
Makes me realize how lucky I was
Had a 400-500lb 4wheeler do me that way on blacktop at top speed without a helmet at 15 years old.
Was hit in the rear by a sport quad doing 70-80mph while I was doing 45-50. His front tire went up over my rear tire, came through the front of my rear fender plastics pinning my leg between the fenders, picked up the whole rear of my four wheeler flipping it end over end, nose first. Onto solid blacktop. The back rack hit me in the back of the head as it came forward and I came back, and drove me face first into the blacktop. I was on top, on bottom, with 4 wheeler on top , on bottom again, and on top again before it stopped on its side on top of me. I looked like a rag doll riding a bull then it riding me, I bit half my tongue in half, pushed my teeth through my lips, top and bottom, tore my nose half off, 50 stitches, a broken elbow later, and a shit ton of road rash. I walked out of the hospital and began a 2 month long healing process.
The ER MD and the bone specialist for my arm, both said if I’d have had been wearing a helmet it would have killed me, or I’d have never walked again, snapping my neck, at the back with the way I bent. Or have breaking my neck. Said that it was one time the person was lucky for not wearing a helmet, allowing my neck not to catch at the back and rolling with my body, ironically a guy who was brought in right before me passed on the medivac flight, from flipping one without a helmet on and a helmet would’ve saved his life.
I was lucky he wasn’t.
With these machines and speeds you just never know.

Very sad. I lost a good friend 26 years ago in a very similar way. Ironically, It's the better riders that suffer the most from a crash like this. They will stay on the bike longer
than they should because they believe that they can save it. RIP Gabriela Valentini
oh yeah, i came from a mtb background into motocross and the very first thing my coach said was whenever shit hits the fan just let the bike go immediately.
instead of saying fuck it and jump the ship.... plus they have more acidents cuz they are adrenaline junkies .... but its sad to see stuf like this
I was an expert and pro am in the national's there is no making any rhyme or reason to a crash just in my experience
@johnny cash what happened to her bike? Usually if you get blocked front wheel, its slips of aside.
I don't agree totally. I think it is best overall to try to save it, hang onto the bars as long as you can. On an endo like this, you don't have much choice. But I have tamed a few bikes when they put me into a rodeo ride. I was glad I saved it.
I’m just now seeing this but I used to ride dirt bikes for many years of my life so I know how brutal crashes can be! She didn’t deserve this… Rest in peace Gabriela ❤️
May she rest in peace.
Unfortunately I think she got a handful of front brake, and her body position was forward and not stacked for the terrain nor the upcoming turn. RIP from an ex-motocrosser in Texas.
Not what it looks like to me.. Looks like she caught a kicker bump that sent her over the bars.
@@racerx143 if you slow it down, very obvious with rotation of the bike that it was use of front brake, aswell as front dancing around due to not being balanced or rough terrain.
@@cay378 Who knows in this case.. but I've never had a front tire tank slap from a locked brake. A rotating tire will though. And from looking this girl up, she was a damn good rider and a good rider isn't going to lock up the front brake like that. Fully looks to me like she got rebounded over the bars from either the front or rear tire (or both) catching an edge and throwing her off balance. I've been there...
@@racerx143 i disagree it looks to me like a total front wheel lock up with body position way forward ...maybe caliper froze up when she used it....axle broke or something like that maybe a bearing failure....idk but it was definitely caused in the front end...big rock we cant see or something.

Brutal.. She locked up the front break and the bike smashed her into the dirt... That was incredibly stupid.
What caused the bike to flip like that?
Maybe the front wheel got locked or something and the spinning momentum of the wheel caused the bike to flip forward?
@@GreenRobotCat_R4702 Looks like a stone or small packed mound right where the front tire was...speed and traction factors, so perhaps locking is possible. May she rest in peace.
Inertia. Momentum. Gravity. A number of things actually.
Something kicked her wheel left and she over corrected to the right. I’ve done it mountain biking. When your front wheel suddenly turns you’re going over the bars.
Very sad for her and her family
A woman was driving it
Why is there no explanation of her front brake locking up?
Panic braking
Sitting up on the gas tank, coming into the corner a little too fast and over breaked. Because how she was positioned there was no chance at riding it out unfortunately. So sad 😞
She was just a kid chasing the dream. This goes to show that this sport is one of the most hardcore things out there. May she rest in peace.

What I don't understand is what exactly happened, its like she rode into a huge hole in the ground but at the same time the track looks relatively flat, or it's like the front brake just locked up suddenly. RIP Gabrielle 😢
She grabbed a lot of front brake.
@@cuzimaluzer777 Don't think so. The wheel itself failed catastrophically though it is vaguely possible that damage was inflicted during the incident. If you look carefully you can see the front wheel deform.

Gut wrenching, especially watching the other riders go right by her body laying there.
Those kids need to learn about sportsmanship.
@BlakeGibbons
In the race, you don't really (sometimes you literally CANT) stop. You have to keep going, and just hope that the person will be fine.
@@BlakeGibbons To people with no experience it looks like poor sportsmanship but it's literally what you're taught to do. Don't stop unless it's a red, don't get in the way of the track workers or ems getting to someone, don't stop and clog the track and risk another wreck or yourself getting hit.... the list goes on why you don't stop in the middle of a track and just hop off
There’s also the issue of target fixation. These riders weren’t looking at her, but at everywhere else. You look at your escape route, not the crash or obstacle(s) in your path. Making the mistake of looking at her may have caused more crashes, possibly more injury and casualties. (And anyone who ran into her would be accused of being an idiot, dumb, dangerous, etc. possibly even blamed for her demise.)
So the riders who rode by probably never saw the gravity of the situation. And they did what all riders are trained to do.
Plus it’s a race, with everything mentioned above.
Actually they are doing the correct things. You NEVER stop on a live track, it creates danger to other riders, that could end up in another fatality for example. Don't say shit, when you have no clue please.@@BlakeGibbons
Its a difficult crash to understand, full power into speed wobble- release throttle- fly over the handlebars- get hit by the bike. As a youngster i survived a horror crash whilst getting destroyed by a very fast girl on a KX 60. Life (or the lack of it) is a whimsical thing. Rest In Peace
No it's not difficult to understand IMO. She should have been standing and back, not sitting near the tank. She hit a kicker with her weight too far forward, (probably elbows down, that high handlebars make you do.), the rear end came up, she had too much weight on the front wheel with he forks at that angle to the ground, and the steering did what is called "head shake", which caused her to endo. It sure did not look like a life ending crash. But you only have to bent the wrong way.
Very sad.
@@EarthSurferUSA a lot of these mx guys rely on their strength to avoid these crashes. it is damn innocuous and fuck, but you when you see the way she lands, you know shes dead or seriously fucked for life and its not surprising, if that bike is a 450 if it is then it would be a lot easier to understand, even if it isnt difficult -I think she is unlucky but not as unlucky as someone who brought a lotto ticket was lucky, no where close to that

I am a physician. I wish everyone knew that if you break your neck at the C3 level or above, the immediate cause of death is paralysis of the diaphragm you may still be awake, but you can’t breathe if this is the case by standard CPR or even just bystander mouth-to-mouth might save the victim. if there were no other critical injuries like that bodybuilder that did the back flip on stage. He broke his neck. Nobody used mouth-to-mouth he could have saved him possibly at least keep you alive, but probably quadriplegic

This would only complicate the problem and make a bigger target for those coming from behind. You don't stop in the middle of the track with a race going on. It's hard but that's how it works. The other riders have been through enough without people saying they should have stopped.
@@armysenior1780 if they been through accidents, the problem is they should ALL stop the second they see someone laying motionless in the middle of the track, it is basic humanity... you can't see that and keep going as it is normal. Senna, David Purley risked their life to save fellow driver's life, Senna did saved a driver who's car were in the middle of the track, Purley tried to save a driver who's car were ON FIRE, they didn't give a shit about being a target or keep going because they have a race to win.
@@chanmax2 You have a valid point but alot of that depends on the track. Here they are coming around a corner. To clear a corner and suddenly the track is blocked by several riders and bikes could cause a dangerous pileup. Also a track that is blocked and complicated further by riders running everywhere will surely hinder the medical teams. So circumstances defendantly play a part. I think there is no place for those who were not there, don't race, or know anything about the circumstances, to judge those who were. 👍

@@EarthSurferUSAJust watched this video for the first time, and I made the exact same comment you did about the bikes being faster before I Read yours. It was actually in an article somewhere talking about the severity of crashes now a days vs from the late 90’s into the early 2000’s, and they theorized that’s it’s due to the speed and power of modern 4 strokes. And I completely agree. To all the disrespectful trash talkers, who posted mean spirited comments like how did that mild crash kill the dude...i have been thru worse. One : it wasnt a dude, if the first name didnt give it away the shape of her body certainly should have. She was a 17 brazilian female motocross rider who died from that horrible crash. Cant u see it was a high speed section on a hard bluegroove type track. It appears,to me she was Deaccelerating going into a turn and front wheel caught a hard rut that yanked the bars out of her grip than almost instantly went into a tank slapper until it locked to steering stop or close enough to Catapault her off bike slamming her into the hard, baked clay almost concrete and while tumbling thru the air the 225 lbs piece of metal hit her at a high speed high impact. She died on the way to the hospital after rescue workers revived her while laying unconcious. The human body is extremely resilient and can withsrand a tremendous amoounts of force but only in certain areas, some areas like temple , a spot on your arm , internal injury, your neck and spine can be severley damaged with relitively minor inpact or force if hit at certain places angles. I was standing at Unadilla and saw jesse nelsons crash. It was not as violent as gabrielas he just was rolling tru a deep thick mud rut at maybe 20- 25 mph and caught a yellow plastic track corner/ boundry marker which caused his front wheel to jacknife and flip over frontwards pile driving him into the thick loamy soil head first as bike landed in top of him. Thats, all it took that instant to cause spinal injuries. Everytime u get out of bed and face the day you put yourself at risk from simple injury to Cstestrophic ones. Racing anything esspecially a motorcycle that can jump a hundred feet with ease . Consider yourselves fortunate that at this point in life u havnt suffered anything as severe. But dont think u are immune. Its only one wrong accident away and thats why being in shape strong core muscles ,flexibility and knowing how to roll in a flip or fall to lessen the impact. All good traits for atheletes of any sport.

When it’s your time, it’s your time.
Rip and condolences to the friends and family.
Yes, most educated physicians will advise against wearing a helmet, for this specific reason...SMH
I once rode a dirt bike that was THIIIIIISSSS BIG!!!
Yeah, horrible accident where things went tragically wrong, even though everything was done to prevent it.
That's usually how you get hurt real bad, when the bike gets you. There's little you can do. It's almost luck. That's why motocross is so dangerous
As much as the bike was flipping, she was going really fast
Epitome of a freak accident. RIP. Hate to see a beautiful young person have their life cut short.
Why did the bike flip so randomly?
So sad......
Very sincere thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace.
Lost two friends in the past 33 years this way. RIP❤

Strange crash,it was like the bike stopped and flipped,on a smooth straight away . mechanical failure maybe.
Why don’t they try to help him
It's a girl !
BECAUSE ITS A LIVE TRACK! it's very dangerous to do, especially in motorcycle racing, riders are taught not to stop until the red flag is waved. Riders also look far ahead into the next corner, etc, had someone stopped they could possibly not be seen and get killed. Please stop judging like that, they did the correct thing, doing otherwise would be putting other riders in danger.
Dang, that was a tough one to watch. Rest in peace, Gabriela.
A 17 year old girl, sad very sad it's proof god can take you at any time rest in peace and paradise
Yes God is pretty evil if he exists.
Her name will live on and remind us how serious and brutal this sport that we Love so much can be ❤😢
Maybe people could have stopped instead of riding around her
No, they could not.. stopping on a live track is incredibly dangerous for you AND THE OTHER riders..riders are taught not to stop on the live track, same goes for drivers, in every single racing category. That's a very dangerous thing to do, not so much in car racing, bit very much so in motorcycle racing. Track Marshalls exist for a reason, riders only stop for a red flag and are taught that. Stopping on a live track could get you banned. Someone else can get killed because of that.
