It's such a common story. Men who have been with the same woman for a long time, and truly love them, they really can't live without them. I used to work with an older guy, really great guy. But after his wife died, he really just let himself go and didn't take care of himself because he just didn't care anymore about living and eventually died from heart disease.
@@sandrafrazier3423 You actually literally can. It's called Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy, but more commonly simply known as "Broken Heart Syndrome." With enough distress, the heart can literally start pumping irregularly where not enough blood gets circulated and you can die from it. 😢
Thank you for this video. I lost my dad 5 years ago, and my mom died in October. It's a different time now for holidays. But, I will see them again one day. Tell your parents you love them often. Merry Christmas and a happy 2025.
Well heck, this one hits hard. My dad bought a brand new 66 Impala. Nothing special, just a 4 door Impala (327 of course with the PowerGlide) Mom passed in 1980, Dad in 2008 The car is long gone but the memories are still there. Dad did remarry after several years to an absolutely wonderful woman, she was the lady that my kids knew as Grandma, but the memory of my mom was always there. Just for the record, my dream car is a 64 Impala SS.
This reminded me of how much I miss my husband Owen. I still have his Pontiac Fiero, our first date car. Alot of great memories and he taught me how to how to drive a stick shift on it.
Got a lil misty watching it. Reminded me of my Dad's dream car, and El Camino. Always wanted one but could never afford it. His 5 kids always came 1st.
When i was little, Dad had a '65 Impala 4 dr. That was the family car. Dad also had a '66 impala sport coupe, 2 dr hardtop with a big-block, 4-speed and a posi-traction rear end. We used to call it the "heavy chevy". They were great cars, easy to work on, looked cool. I used to stand on a stack of milk crates and lean on the fender and "help" Dad work on them when i was really little. Miss Dad the most!
The emotion of this commercial is real for a lot of people, but from a car enthusiasts perspective it really drives home the fact GM/Chevrolet makes NOTHING today that can compare to what GM was building in the 1960s. I'm only 47 so I'm not even talking about these cars from "my" era which would be the 1980s-90s...... GM from the Mid-1950s-mid-1970s made cars with personality, passion, and they had soul and style and performance that moved you. Today they make plastic appliances with sewing machine motors.
I feel the same way about my long gone '69 Belair. It came with a 327 and ohhh was it fast! Used to drive through the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station on PCH in excess of 100 mph. What a car! What a company! -mikenotpaula.
Went thru this myself...lost my boyfriend to a seizure in his sleep right before my 41st birthday...i was getting ready to ask him to marry me...3 yrs we were together...that first Thanksgiving and Christmas were rough as all hell without him...i shut down for over a year or so then my brother got married and then my nephew was born ❤...i keep going for him now i still have moments but thats because I loved him and that will never change ❤️
I want GM to make a commercial about a man and his son riding in a 1972 yellow Chevy c 10 on the way to a hunting trip. Make it around 1975 and have it be in the south Texas valley region. Then flash forward to present day and the son gets the old truck out of the barn and restored it in memory of his Daddy.
If only Chevrolet / GM could make vehicles as good as this commercial today. Their value & roots are a time past; as they market a name of what once was. Generations to come will never know a tangible bond like this to one’s legacy. Because today it’s meaningless transportation; whose unreliability force it into recycling, nothing of value here.
Family ties and hearts are priceless.
OK what is it when a car commercial makes grown men cry? A good way to remind us of how a car can inspire us to remember the joy they bring to us.
When my mom died, so did my dad. He was never the same and then he died one year later. True love is definitely a mystery. ❤😢
My Dad died 6 months after my Mom. Almost 55 years together❤
My partners mom and dad died 30 days apart. I honestly believe you can die of a broken heart. 💔
My Dad died less than 6 months after my Mom. Their 55th anniversary was coming up and we know he died of a broken heart.

Damn onions again... it's not just a car it's the memories attached to them. Well done!

Remembering the good times and love lost. Then re-connecting with the past and the future.
love folks....don't discard it....long lasting love....its the most beautiful thing...
If you're not crying, you've never had a soulmate
that is so true

There were tears ! I won't lie. Always loved Chevy's, even when they were building alot of crap. Nothing more American than a Chevy in your driveway.
Hell yeah old cars are the best rides!

I'm 57 and the cars from that era had soul I grew up under the hood of Chevelles and GTO's.
Great daughter, great message.

I'm telling you, there's magic in that Chevrolet bow tie that Ford and Chrysler just don't have! -mikenotpaula.

It's always about lost love
Always loved this commercial. Why can’t Chevrolet build cars like that again? I love my 1971 Nova.

You almost feel how the man misses his wife.
Who plays the daughter? She has some great acting in this...

Crazy how they keep going back to the vehicles they use to make that actually lasted an not the modern garbage the keep trying to convince you to buy
I know, all they make now are either SUV's or ugly EV crap!
