Nope. He’d be totally cool to ask for a trade just about anywhere. I’m not against guys asking for trades unless it’s some cop out move. And Dame certainly wouldn’t be doing that. I fear it maybe too late if he moves now.
Damian's self and public identity is tied to being loyal, that's why he's psychologically reluctant to ask for a trade. That's also why he is so salty in interviews.
Long time Blazer fan here thanking you for hitting every thought about Dame I’ve been losing sleep over for months. Nicely done. And btw, if Dame leaves he has my complete blessing.
I'll never judge dame for leaving. He's given it all, is still in his prime, and could be that one piece a lot of teams need, while granting a massive haul of picks for the blazers, which they should be looking for
Exactly, I mean think about it if Dame had turned out crap the Blazers would've traded him no question and yet when a great player is on a crap team he's supposed to show them loyalty? This is why all the arguments against player power fall apart, in a world where teams can trade you, cut you and send you down in order to compete and make the most money possible why shouldn't the players (you know the people who matter the most in sports) do the same. It just seems like another example of people taking the side of faceless corporations over their workers.
Dame realizes it.That’s why he shared his feelings about not being part of a rebuild. If he leaves, his family is going to determine where they might thrive. They also mean more to him than a chip.

Yeah, I agree. While I truly think he is a loyal dude, Dame passed on multiple great windows of opportunity to get out during his prime and get at it with a better team, and he wouldn't have much time to get it done at 32 years old. His legacy is all about loyalty, longtime carrying a team (and city), and incredibly clutch performances, and an ultimate "what if" discussion if he'd retire, as in what if Dame had gone to a better team? He would risk his entire reputation and everything he worked for during his career, if he went back on what he preached for years. Not to mention he could end up like a Russ, or PG13 type of player.
And tbh idk what he really expects the Blazers do they can’t really make any big moves next year because not a lot of star players available. The best he can do is break that “loyalty” image and leave the Blazers. I mean he has done everything for Blazers at this point and they haven’t gone any where

At this point no one would disrespect Dame for leaving. He gave Portland everything and stayed there for better and for worse. It's the Blazers management that failed and everybody knows it
8:41 that would be a sickkkkkk squad. Not a NY fan but wanna see this team ball
He reached the WCF. He is getting paid 60m a year for 2 years. He already achieved success. For every championship team, the media ALWAYS pushed the narrative that the superstars of the other 29 teams needed help, but rarely gives sound solutions which is beneficial for all teams involved. This western conference has the best parity for decades, no guaranteed favorites, no more dynasties, no more superstar reliant teams. A Doncic and Lillard led team might not make it to the PlayIn, while the Kings are the 3rd seed. I would rather see good teams win, than fan favorite superstars win just because of loyalty or marketing.
Dame leaving Portland is the only occasion when every basketball agrees in unison
if they get victor im hopeful that they could make the play in next season
Blazers are not trading Sharpe for anyone. Simons and Grant is possible though
Man's the Harry Kane of basketball
Is the blazers plan to rebuild but keep lillard at the same time and had him as a mentor.
Lol I clicked on your kings video haha
Dame to the Heat for Lowry, Robinson, and a pick
Embiid never leave us please x
i feel like he cares alot about what they say and maybe he doesnt wanna come off as ring chasing. but literally NO ONE would blame him for leaving that organization
For sure he is soft, bro is stuck in this loyal persona of his, insecure player that would rather lose than to not be holier than thou
it's funny he's the one player who doesn't want to bounce from team to team and be a ring chaser, but he's the only player nba fans would be ok with him doing that
There’s nothing wrong being loyal. Dame is a great player no matter what
I’m from Portland have met him and have his autograph he told me he won’t run from the grind I last saw him 2 weeks ago in a mall in Portland
