    I don't know man, GMBN is such a "commercial" channel where I just feel I can't get proper advice from. It's like watching teleshopping.

    I found it funny that Anna was on the heavier/ slower Bike and not vice versa 😅
    Seven months ago I had a similar choice to make with Specialized. Do I take the Evo or the regular one.
    After testing both extensively I went with the S4 Stumpjumper Expert with 140mm front travel and 130mm rear. I just had overall more fun with it and it was more playful, kinda like Snowboarding is more playful to me over Skiing even though I like both.
    I use the flip chip and ride 90% in the high position that rises the bottom bracket 7mm and honestly make a hug difference in the overall handling compared to low.
    I also use lighter tires for most of my Trail riding (Ground Control T7 and Fast Trak T5).
    Cheers from Switzerland

      @@323johnnybravo Sure, I've got a 160/150 Spectral myself but I honestly don't consider it a trail bike. It's closer to an enduro than trail. Sure, it climbs well but I think there is a reason why there is Spectral 125 and Neuron.

    The step from Oiz to Occam SL is much more significant than Occam LT to Rallon, the latter pair share the same head angles, and almost the same wheelbase which begs the question who will buy the Occam LT over the Rallon?

    • @lucasherbet6801
      @lucasherbet6801 11 месяцев назад

      The Rallon only comes in a carbon frame option, the Occam LT in both alloy and carbon. You can buy a decently equipped alloy Occam for 3000-4000€ while it would be around a thousand more for the "equivalent" Rallon.
      But yeah, that's a decent question though. I own a Occam LT and wondered if I shouldn't have gone with the Rallon instead, then I was happy having an alloy frame that I can smash and ding when I fail :p

    • @overseer_grimal
      @overseer_grimal 8 месяцев назад +1

      exactly! I bought LT m10 2022 last year with a discount. I first tried rallon m20 which costed about the same but had inferior components. Rallon felt slower and more massive when pedaling, the fork didn't work well with the small bumps and the shock didn't have a block at all. On the other hand, Occam was more agile and had better components, so I decided to get it, it suited my needs and felt better. But this year it doesn't make any sense to choice occam lt over rallon. It is better to find a m10 2022 rallon (the one with kashima and stuff) or even a Ltd version at a discount instead of getting a 2024 occam. It has the same geo and features

    While I'm sure, that "hitting a downhill trail' is quite fun, I'm not up to it. Personally, I'm more on the endurance side and the calm adventuring. But I'm unable to choose between those bikes. I mean... This is great that we can choose from a wide spectrum of specialized machines, but honestly, the differences between them are so minute and the overlap between their capabilities is so huge, that this doesn't really matter to me. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that's how I feel about this.

    Ordered a Sl M10 through a bike dealer here in Germany.
    Some Magazines claim a weight of 12.3 kg, which seems reasonable since the ltd version is supposedly coming all the way down to 10.8kg.
    Now, that I paid for Brakes and Rims extra 1000€ to shave a few more grams off the 12.3 kg, the bike arrived and weight in at 13.6kg.
    Asking Orbea if there is anything that I can do to get to 12.3 kg or below, they simply say that they don’t claim the 12.3 kg and it it’s to complicated to calculate. No help at all!
    I change now to Schwalbe from Maxxis. But I am sure that won’t do the job.
    On a side note, I have a frame in L. So that can make a slight difference. And I opted out for carbon red. Different paint has different weight they say. But that much?
    7000€ for a “heavy”- SL bike.
    I can only say that i am very sad saving up for that bike.
    Canyon e.g. has a bike (they seem to be able to calculate) similar specs. 12.8kg 5500€.
    Well if you are in for the weight, or consider that a decision making factor. Be aware!!!
    For me it’s really important.😢

    • @erni313
      @erni313 5 месяцев назад

      How will 400g change your ride though? Even if you were a racer your performance would be barely if not noticeable at all.

    • @patrickb4656
      @patrickb4656 4 месяца назад

      @@erni313 o.k. i get your point.
      But:- It makes a difference, depending where on the bike you put that weight. Like the wheels for example.
      - when does it make a difference to you? 400g, 600g, or 734g maybe?
      - even if it’s less than 400grams and subtle. Why don’t they tell that red is heavier than blue or whatever! It’s 7 grand for the bike I configurated.
      -overall difference was more than 1kg. way heavier than expected.
      - then I still take a waterbottle with me and a lock and… (nothing to do with the manufacturer) but it still ads up. That’s why I ordered a light weight bike in the first place.
      - if it doesn’t matter, then there is no point of building lightweight
      -Orbea knows the weight of every single component. But they can’t calculate the weight???
      - I asked Orbea how to achieve the 12,3 kg mentioned in several Magazines and test, since number is out there. They can’t tell me. Or won’t help!
      -I am riding a Aluminium Hardtail with 11kg including a lock. The lock weighs only 600g, but certainly sth. you feel. Especially riding for a few hours.
      Would you have bought the bike?
