That Sonny Rollins Tone Poet is a STONE COLD KILLER! It sounds amazing!
Agreed! I've always loved the music and wished for a better sounding version. This version has answered my prayers and then some!
Took my family to see Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter in concert in Austin. Once in a lifetime opportunity and it was beyond special.

Doug Carn is an under apprciated artist, thanks for including him in your collection. His ex-wife Jean, is a family friend and we love her and her music.

I love Jean's voice so much especially when she was with Philly International. I regularly play the Tom Moulton remix of My Love Don't Come East and people love it.

@@bf0189 Same here. I have a few remixes by TM, but they are of Patti LaBelle. I'm sure the ones with Jean are done with the same attention to detail as with most of his work.

Regarding The Doors L.A. Woman, I already had the the 2x45rpm from Analogue Productions/QRP and I really like it. Maybe the UHQR is better, but if I buy it, I will have spent $175 on this record and I'd rather save my money to buy other records. For me, there is such a thing as "good enough." I don't have the $$$ to buy every new, marginally better-sounding reissue of a record when I already have one that makes my ears very happy.
That said, I absolutely don't judge people who are happy to keep acquiring new issues in hopes of getting the best possible SQ.

Wayne Shorter's Juju is on my wish list. Besides, I'm looking forward for next Blue Note releases like Let Freedom Ride by Jackie McLean, The Quest by Mal Waldron, A Night in Tunisia by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, among others. Blessings!
That Sonny Rollins live album is one of my favorite live jazz albums ! You're going to love it. It sounds great in a mono setup! It has a lot of energy and something magic was captured that afternoon and night.
Yes Doug Carn is underrated too!

I got both of the Wayne Shorter's, fantastic albums. That Sonny Tone Poet is tempting, as was that complete recording reissue that came out recently, but I have the regular reissue, so I'm not running out the door quite.

Sonny Rollins Village Vanguard and Wayne Shorter’s Juju are great albums.
I got one triple album from Amazon once where all they did was put the shipping label directly on the record... That didn't end well. They have really up their game in the last year.

The Wayne Shorter JUJU Blue note classic is great. Surprised you didn't also get Lee Morgan The Gigolo released at same time which also features Wayne Shorter.
Maybe if you hadn't bought three of the same album you could have got it !

I can't say enough things about Mr. Morgan. My cousin gave me my first LM album, and it was The Gigolo. Instantly hooked!
Doors - L.A. Woman - ordered because I prefer 33 1/3 RPM
That's a great reason and that is the only reason why I would consider buying it because of the extended play original format of 33.3. RPM
Definitely good reason if you don't have the 45RPM version. The packaging is cool as well. But from a quality and value perspective I'd have to go for the 45.

Really interested to hear what you think about the Sonny Rollins village vanguard, I have the king Japanese version which is very nice sounding. This tone poet definitely has a more extended high end but with the distortion on the symbol I'm not sure that's always a plus. Always curious to hear what people think about it on other systems.
If you got a solid version of LA Woman stick to it and buy something else. I can spreak for the 2x45 Peter Gabriel So album is worth it. Choices man choices 😅
