NICE again! I love my METABO tools, just started buying them this year at Lowes and Menards. I got to stop watching your videos now, not getting a bit of work done here on my farm. Taking the day off tomorrow, will catch up with more of your videos then!
Another Metabo user! Great to hear. It's funny: I've been so singularly focused on Dewalt and Milwaukee and Bosch and all those that I never even considered Metabo. So found them late in the game but have been very impressed. Great to hear of that day off! Today on the farm it was nothing but surprise repairs for me :) Tomorrow some tree jobs
Yep, you've got to look at the container barn from the viewers perspective, it's impressive. I got a great laugh when you set your material down and it took off down the roof, did you catch it before it went over the edge? That would happen to me, probably more than once. Looking forward to the next episode. Have a great week and stay safe!
"More than once" is the key phrase there: I think that was the first thing that headed off down the roof that I actually caught. It's been a bit of a running joke. "So, what fell off the roof today?" :)
Loved the trick with the clamp for ripping the boards. Why not leave that space in the wall between open for ventilation? Depending on climate and what you’re using it for? Most of our hay barns have that area left open but with larger eaves on the top roofline.
I'm planning to insulate the space so I can work out there in the winters (my old tractors always need repairs!) ... but I see how that ventilation would be great up top. Cool idea
Big Tex Gutters! Oh man a pro job would be amazing. I gotta tell ya that when I install gutters they tend to be rainwater storage systems more than anything else :) Oh, and then they drip a lot too haha
Gotta figure that the foam and goop aren't meant to last forever, they're just meant to make the overall roof stay sound for a few years longer than if you didn't use em
Since this videos a few months old I'm sure you figured out now you should have put a actual ridge vent in the Ridge if you're going to completely enclose it. That building is going to build up tons of condensation on the inside roof and rain back down. Go ahead ask me how I know.
That absence of a ridge vent has been bugging me for a while now -- the structure is still open so my plan is to slice out the insulation at the peak to vent it. Thanks for the reminder! Moisture kills
I didn't even consider cutting the bubble wrap until someone else mentioned it too. Thanks! I'm gonna go back in and vent it before closing up the attic. Better to have that air flow
just the video I'm looking for this is amazing. I'm planning on building something like; Please what's the measurement between the two containers? Thanks.
I thought this was going to be an equipment shed and go all confused when you started using insulation and ZIP-R sheathing. I see this all gets enclosed, in future episodes.
Your video literally answered all my design thoughts! Amazing job buddy, can’t wait to see the finished product. Do you have a dimensions sheet anywhere? Assuming 40ft containers, what’s the distance in between the 2 containers? Did you have to custom make the roof cross frames or where they some sort of standard length?
Good to hear it's looking good to ya. Yeah, 40' containers, 30' trusses, 27' between the boxes ... I may publish a plan when I'm done (done that with a few other builds) but not sure at this point. Exterior walls are in the works!
It was missing a tutorial on how to swing in a barn, it’s done! 👍😁 Is it indiscreet to ask you in what state you are? (I understand if you don’t want to answer 😉)
@@metaspencer I would like to do the same thing except 60’ X 40’, but I feel as though that distance is too wide and would require supporting poles in the middle of the truss
Hello from the Netherlands and thanks for the video. Sincerely, Hollandduck
You gotta keep the boss happy, put in the door.
That's a nice looking barn
Absolutely! Hey, good luck selling your land ... sounds like a move in the right direction
One step at a time

great show thanks have fun
Nice work
Thanks buddy. Take care
Looking good Spencer!
Big thanks! We've been having some fun with it
You two did better work with that roof than the professional crew I hired to replace my shop roof did.... Impressive.
Thanks for that! yeah, we've done a few now and they each keep getting better and better :)
It's looking great!
thank man
It's coming together nicely.
Thanks buddy! Always nice seeing your jobs come together
Looks very very nice Spencer !! LOVE that barn!
Great to hear! Yeah, it's kinda coming together :)
Looks awesome!!
Thanks man! It's been fun
Hello from Texas, looks so good, Great job
Thanks buddy
Looking great Spencer but, I wish you’d send some 70 degree weather this way. 60s would be even better.
Let's hope those cool breezes blow soooooon!
Love this build series. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the encouragement! It’s been fun

@@metaspencer That's a classic! Have you determined the "drop zone perimeter"?
EPIC. Love it. Can't wait for the next installment...and the pigeon hole for the swing 🙂
Thanks for the encouragement!
That is one hellova nice barn dude... I am loving every bit of it. looking forward to the next episode!
Thanks man. Good hearing from ya
Looking great!! Cool swing. 🙂
Thanks man! Wooohoooo!

Hey. I can put the gutters for you. Big fan!!

Great Job looks wonderful!
Great to hear! thanks for the encouragement
The build is looking good. We've been getting those same kind of rainstorms south of you here in Central PA. Thanks for sharing your progress
Big old thunderstorms! I don't know about down there but it's been dry, so the trees and plants are loving all the water :)
very awesome !
Thanks for having a look!

yeah makes sense! better than nothing
mastic would work well to seal the ridgecap
good point

Mr. Spenser, is it for storage or Olympic training? Nice work, I have barn envy?
A little bit of both! hahaha ...thanks man
should of put stem wall foam between container and wood tie in
And I even had a few rolls of it left over from another project! Oh well
Not sure I saw you cut the aluminum bubble wrap before you installed the ridge cap. Not going to be venting it ?
I didn't even consider cutting the bubble wrap until someone else mentioned it too. Thanks! I'm gonna go back in and vent it before closing up the attic. Better to have that air flow

40’ boxes and 27’ between them. Gotta Span for the trusses
I like like your style
Much appreciated buddy
Do I see a rain water containment system in the future?
That would be just so cool ... I'd love to have a massive cistern but have always just used barrels in the past. Great idea man
I thought this was going to be an equipment shed and go all confused when you started using insulation and ZIP-R sheathing. I see this all gets enclosed, in future episodes.
Yeah it's gonna be a hybrid building ... some equipment, but also my fabrication shop

We're in New York state these days ... lots of big lakes and tall tree! Just outside of Ithaca, NY
@@metaspencer Thank you for your answer. I lived for 8 years in Montreal, Quebec, not that far away:)
@@Clothis64 Great city!
What are the total dimensions ? I know the containers are 40 footers, but what is the spread between them, exactly how far did you place them apart?
27' between containers, 13.5' high ceilings in the central space, and like you said 40' long/deep
27' between the boxes
@@metaspencer I would like to do the same thing except 60’ X 40’, but I feel as though that distance is too wide and would require supporting poles in the middle of the truss
@@Soldierboy1986 trusses can be manufactured to cross that span, but gotta calculate the weight and all that
