I know they want the whole sort of grand-strategy experience, but they really didn't model the game to account for if you're effective enough to destroy the conventional patriot forces. There's no real effective guerilla campaign, the game just plods onwards insisting there's a Continental Congress somewhere. I feel like the British campaign should have started out immediately after Bunker Hill, where you frantically attempt to assert control and build a base of power somewhere in the colonies while there's an actual conventional rebel force to fight.
Welamansuk, where you had those rebels in the north, north of Castine, is actually present day Bangor, Maine - not in Canada actually, though I do think the wider area known as Bangor/Maine the state did remain 'disputed' long after the revolution until border was actually finalized
I have to agree with the past criticism of the game. Would have been a tighter, more focused game with a branching campaign and better Ai also. Keep the grand strategy element here. Allow us to order other armies about the map while we command our own personal force. Let us keep the research tree, even if it isn’t particularly good. Give us UGCW with branching missions and the smaller side battles. I guess the problem here is that the war didn’t have that many battles, wouldn’t have been interesting to only fight in one section of America. And the smaller battles would have been a couple hundred guys shooting at each other which seems kinda fun to me, but probably not too others.
Which is why I was kinda hoping for a Napoleonic campaign, or potentially an 1812 global scenario (if they needed to keep it US centric) before it was announced as the Revolutionary War. You could have multiple campaigns happening w/ grand strategy elements and you could choose to fight in the US, Italy, Germany, Spain etc.
Wait, what? They ship 1.0 with bugs, mechanics, and UI not fully fleshed out and posted a "goodbye message" and that they "may" be patching? Just from your 3 episodes alone this looks like it needs a lot of work still, and for $60 that's crazy.
Hi Gamer. Been a while since I last visited the channel. Question: Have you done something with your audio system? Your voice sounds different (to me) since I last checked in. Good, but just a bit different.
I got a new pre-amp and sound board 2-3 years ago, so I guess it depends when you last checked in. I don't think I've changed any compression settings or anything recently but its possible a few small tweaks here or there.
Well the Americans did manage to force the British to evacuate Boston, and then Saratoga and Washington’s twin victories at Trenton and Princeton but yes generally the war wasn’t going well for the U.S. pre French intervention.
Playing the good guys now, god to see :P
We won, so obviously the Americans are thr good guys :P
That's how history works. I know, because we learned it from the Brits!
@@Altair1243WAR Yes it's actually an inspiring story.

I will be buying this game. Looks intensive, deep, attention to detail, and fun!

Im thoroughly enjoying watching this

For some reason this game is relaxing to watch (credit to THG). I got my fill playing UG: Civil War, but watching these AR battles is addicting

It looks pretty historic so far besides the war. I didn't go in the amaricas favor tell the French joined .

Wait, how were you having breakfast with him? He was with me that day...
I've got a gazillion hours in UGCW and there's no way I'd buy this on sale. What an absolute waste.
Released 1.0 and left a good bye? yikes
