Jonathon, I have about a years experience playing guitar including some lessons. I haven't played in a while and picked it back up and I'm loving Yousician. Its really great for keeping me motivated to continue practicing, and it feels more structured than how I was practicing between lessons and I think that helps a lot. I've heard some people say that Yousician practice doesn't really apply to real-world playing. Do you think that's so? I'm trying to decide if I should purchase Yousician, or if I should be investing in lessons as well. I feel like I will practice more with Yousician, but I might be getting better quality practice through lessons. Any thoughts? I love watching you jam, btw. Keep them videos coming!
I think it is great for real world playing. I'm a working musician, I find it translates well. It gets your reading skills up to top notch, and holds you accountable to tiny details that you might otherwise overlook!
I started playing the guitar about 20 years ago. I never made past beginner and I eventually just gave up on it over the years. I started using Yousician about a year ago. If Yousician has existed 20 years ago I would probably be playing Classical Gas on acoustic by now. Of course Yousician helps playing songs outside of the app. I think the only people who disagree are those who are jealous that they didn't have Yousician when they started learning.
omg this awesoooooooooooooooooome I started learning guitar 3 months ago but I just only reach level 5 :( but when I see this video is told to myself : "I MUST LEARN THIS SONG " thank you.
howdy, i'm stuck around level 4 and such. Mostly because i'm stuck trying to get all gold stars for everything. Should I worry with that or just keep going with my 3 white stars instead?
I get to top 5% and then try to best my score 3 times, if I do I reset and try for another 3. After that I move on, unless I don't like the song very much.
No bro. That is a toxic attitude, just like it is in video gaming. Aspire to get better than you are now, and do just that. Who cares who is better. I can name 100 guitarists who i wish i was as good as, but it's not a good way to look at it. Rock on.
I'm doing yousician right now and I thought I was getting good. But from seeing this, I've got a looooong way to go. But that's okay. I'm dedicated. If anyone wants to learn guitar, yousician is the way to do that
Hello Jonathan, thank you for this great video, you’re a big inspiration! Can you share any tips about your screen capture recording? I am using OBS and i find it impossible to get it work with Yousician and an electric guitar, it looks like Yousician doesn’t work with asio drivers, and that’s what my soundcard requires. Can you share your setup? Thank you
Hi! I use QuickTime Player to screen capture yousician, while recording my guitar with GarageBand through an audio interface. Afterward, I also record the backing track of the song out of Yousician, and into GarageBand and sync them up together. All final syncing of guitar video, Yousician video, guitar audio, Yousician audio, is done in Final Cut Pro X. Contact me on Facebook anytime under Jonathan C Reichert
Flips i can’t get Yousician work with Asio driver and OBS for streaming. I can separately use Yousician with Asio driver and OBS with Asio driver but not both, for some reason. Searched for help and didn’t find solution so far
Can people run this 1st time seeing it or si.ilar songs when you are a pro? Or does it still take multiple takes? Just curious. I figure maybe 3 star silver is possable but gold must be hard
Personally, as a pro, I find I can’t do all level 10’s in one attempt or two, and then level 11 to 12, would take a few more tries. It can vary, but overall I can zip through something like this
+Arely Garcia Hi Arely! I had previous experience on guitar, so it took me about a week to do level 1-8. Level 9 and 10 took me about 4-5 months to complete. I'm now at level 11 looking forward to when they release the missions update for level 11-15! I have a student that was 100% beginner who did level 1-7 in about 2 months, all gold star. now he is slowly working through level 8 material.
It's amazing
Gosh, I love this riff! I heard it yesterday and immediately started to learn it. Hope I will play it as good as you, though it not gonna be easy :-)
Thanks for watchin!

Keep moving forward, and revisit those ones again after some time.

You lerned playing like that with this app? Or u can Play before?
You can learn to play like this, with this app. However, i played already before.
I'm doing yousician right now and I thought I was getting good. But from seeing this, I've got a looooong way to go. But that's okay. I'm dedicated. If anyone wants to learn guitar, yousician is the way to do that
If you don’t quit, then you are doing great my friend. Go go go
How do you get yousician for PC?😭😭
Yousician.com and download it.
i hope yousician will have more options on custom songs that way it will kick the shit out of Rocksmith and their complicated system.
That is completely up to the users to upload their own versions with backing track. Yousician is not allowed to upload copyright'd material.

Jonathan Reichert thank you :)
Yousician works fine with ASIO drivers, in fact it works better as it lowers the latency.

@@itcouldnthappenhere You are trying to get it work for a live stream you mean?

Awesome! Now do the full song with perfect timing.
how long did it take you from level 1 to where you are right now?
