So a little background on me , I'm currently an automotive instructor for a college , I have Ford training and was a Ford tech for 5 years and teaching automotive for over 10 years. That being said I'd do the following : Engine Oil every 3000 miles , I don't care what the book says about going longer. Front Transaxle Fluid , rear transaxle fluid and generator fluid every year, coolant every other year and clean the coolant filter. Brake fluid every 2 years, I use a Amsoil for everything including upper cylinder lubricant from amsoil every fill up because these vehicles are susceptible to fuel dilution of the oil into the start stop feature of the engine.
Manufacturers want you to take it to the dealership or claim lifetime fluid...whose lifetime ? The warranty period is the lifetime once that's up it's too late.
Just got the same outlander PHEV not too long ago. Would you mind listing all the fluids I would need to change on this vehicle?

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated! @@Defiantsynthetics
See your owner manual
No instructions at all on how to check level or change the transaxle fluid in the owner’s manual! Not one!
