    Bill, that thing is looking stunning so far!!! Looking forward to seeing the completion. If you had a carved top LP, would you use Tonepros LPM04 and stoptail or Hipshot .175 floor hardtail?

    • @billsguitargarage
      @billsguitargarage  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks BK. I am actually starting on 2 carved top LPs. I would definitely go with the Tonepros TOM/STP. For me that is the only way to go for a carved top LPO. The hipshot would be great on an LP Jr flat top guitar tough

    I ordered a custom explorer kit from Pango which should be arriving soon. Do you normally use the stock hardware and pickups that come with the kit, or do you replace them?

    • @billsguitargarage
      @billsguitargarage  5 месяцев назад +1

      I use the hardware that comes with the kit. I have been really happy with the pickups. They sound good. The wire harness and pots are well soldered, the pots are the smaller Alpha pots. The bridge is also good quality. The tuners have improved as well. If you were thinking of any upgrades, I would say make a set of locking tuners the 1st priority.

    Thanks Bill great work, one question though. If you didn't adjust the break angle do you think it would have caused issues getting the guitar to play right? This could be a critical step if so that should not be skipped by someone just trying to quickly glue these kits up thanks for the demonstration and knowledge these vids will be invaluable when I start gluing my kit.

    • @billsguitargarage
      @billsguitargarage  5 месяцев назад +2

      It was completely playable the way it was. I didn’t really adjust the break angle, I just did some very fine tweaking to the body and neck joint to make it as perfect as possible. I could have left it as is, and it would have been fine.

    • @PolishHammer
      @PolishHammer 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@billsguitargarage thank you that is exactly what I was asking! How has the other V's neck mod held up? You took some material off to smooth it out just wondering if it has affected the joint in any way? it was a good idea I thought.

      @@billsguitargarage thats what I was hoping these are very nice kits but that neck heel is a bit clunky for a V Pango should fix that as I am going to be winging it haha! I have been practicing by gluing all the broken drawers back together, kitchen is fixed on to the bathroom! Then maybe the guitar...

    I am always going to say green or purple, or a combination of the two. On this one though I think it would be cool if you did a color scheme like the Dime Slime ML from dean. Dime Slime V.
