I would suggest switching to using OBS to record, if you dont already. I can't say that I have ever had the file size problem that you are having, because it seems like it takes 1 gig/min of footage for you, which is pretty unrealistic for recording a game like runescape.

You can copy media with project if you "save as" in sony vegas. That way the file referances won't get messed up.
