@Jamel_AKA_Jamal you are conflating two different songs together that happen to have the same name. This Dancing In The Moonlight song is a Thin Lizzy original! Thanks for the REACTION video, you can never go wrong with a Thin Lizzy song!
Other Phil Lynott songs you should check out: Bad Reputation, Do What You Want To and Chinatown. Also "Out In The Fields" by Gary Moore featuring Phil Lynott. Gary & Phil were in a band called Skid Row together before Thin Lizzy. When original guitarist Eric Bell left after a New Years Eve concert in '73, Gary Moore was invited to join. He stayed for a number of months before Brian Robertson was hired full-time later that year, alongside Californian Scott Gorham. Robertson left in '78 replaced by a returning Gary Moore, who left for the final time in July '79.

Best Thin Lizzy album (in my opinion) Great guitar work and fantastic production. This is not the same song that you're thinking of. It's an original Thin Lizzy song. 👍🍻
You might enjoy Black Star Riders. They began as a Thin Lizzy touring band years after the band ended following the death of Phil Lynot and featuring two classic members of Thin Lizzy. When they started recording new music, they didnt feel comfortable using the Thin Lizzy name, so they changed it. The music has a definite Thin Lizzy vibe, though. The song "Killer Instinct", "Before The War", and "When The Night Comes In" would be good places to start
KING HARVEST originally did the one that you're thinking of in the 70s. MY FAVORITE!!!!!!
It's a Thin Lizzy original. That's why they put(It caught me in the spotlight) for there is a song called Dancing in moonlight.
I was thinking the exact same thing, bro, and when I didn't hear the right intro I was like ohhhhh forgot about this one. Glad more people are knowing Thin Lizzy. They are great for sure. Both awesome songs though :)
Lynott could tell beautiful stories.😌🌹
YES THEY ARE!!!!
Thin Lizzy- Bad reputation, one of my favorite bass lines.
My favourite Thin Lizzy song is Emerald. Give it a listen a few times and just imagine it playing out as a movie scene
This is not a cover. These songs are totally different songs. Thin Lizzy recorded dancing the moonlight in 1977. The other song you mentioned is from from a band called Toploader. They released a song called Dancing in the moonlight in 1999. The only thing they share is the name of the song. Also, the verse lyrics are totally different.
Love that guitar solo! So cool
"Dancing in the Moonlight (It's Caught Me in Its Spotlight)" is a song by the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. It appears on their 1977 album Bad Reputation and was also released as a single a few months before the album. The song reached No. 14 in the UK Singles Chart in September 1977.[1] It should not be confused with a similarly named song, "Dancing in the Moonlight", recorded by King Harvest and Toploader, amongst others.[

I'm totally jealous. I wish he would do reactions to the live versions. Those had such a great vibe.
King Harvest made Dancing in the moonlight a few years BEFORE lizzy. They should have named this silliness something else.
