For what’s it’s worth with the automatics, buy the cleanest body you can find and just do the 6mt conversion. Probably one of the easiest cars to swap. You can do it the poor way, by jumping a few wires and reflashing to a manual map. Or take it a step further and get the correct harness for that oem feel.
but then if you do it the poor way just gotta make sure the holes drilled in the firewall are done properly and cleaned up and painted. and all the wire work is done the right way, not twist twist and shit or else the car's gonna end up on collector car feed in the worst way.
@@twrcrew8852 just depends on what year the car is, you just have to jump a wire with an add a fuse to the battery directly. Tbh the hardest part of the swap really is the clutch pedal. You have to make your own support bracket but other than that everything else just bolts up.
But the time and cost don't make it make sense, for the cost of buying a 6mt and handbrake and the time required to do the swap it makes way more sense to just buy the nice 6mt that will prob be only about 1k more anyways for manual tax
My automatic G35 sedan is at 306k miles and runs fine. They last when cared for. I honestly couldn't care less about miles, it's all about if the car was cared for.
I had a 2006 G35 Coupe Automatic. I LOVED it. I drive a '19 BMW 430i Gran Coupe now, and honestly I think I love both cars about equally. It's nice having a 4 door now especially with a kid, but I really loved driving my G35. I even did AutoX with it for a season and did suspension damage to it, but it was totally worth it. If I knew then what I knew now, I would have kept it. Oh well, I'll buy a new one
I wanted a 35 coupe as my first car! Back when it was 10k for a 100,000 07, manual, with black interior. Never got it but I got a 370z Nismo now… love the G but happier with what I have been fortunate enough to get.
As someone who owns a 6mt sedan, these cars are awesome. I'll never get rid of it and I've driven it thousands of miles across the country. Also mine isn't tan, 6mt nismo sedan with black interior. Have had it quite a while.

The reason most of the ones that go up for sale around 160-170k miles is that's when you need the timing chain job done or the Galley Gasket on 08'-12 for G37's Similar for 35's (not sure the year span (04'-07' maybe?) can start leaking internally. For one of the most reliable cars on the road, this is it's bane. It's a week long job for a mechanic. Gonna cost $1500-$2300 and have to remove the entire front of the car & engine. The Gaskets on pre 2013 (they fixed this 2013 & up) were paper thin, so you'd need the Z1 Motorsports Kit which is $600 alone. (Metal Gaskets, 3 Tensioners & 2 Timing Chains) they'll be good for 300-500k after that, but it's a pretty steep ask for people today, so they just sell em and make it someone else's problem or ticking time bomb. Love Oil in your Water? This one's for you. Lol I did my own kit replacement (08' G37), but it's one of the hardest jobs to do solo without a lift you'll ever do. However, it's worth it to have a non problematic vehicle. Considering most clangbangers nickel & dime you for life. Where my BMW drivers at? Whup, Whup... 😅

I got a 06 g35 coupe rwd auto (unfortunately) eventually trans swap. I've had it since early 2020 definitely a great car extremely reliable fairly quick. Mods led headlight ,plenum spacer,z1 cold air intake and invidia gemini cat back pilot sport 4 tires sounds great and fun to drive
Sheesh, all these fools and their Metra kits with the crap climate buttons.. can't even get the V35 skyline double din kit with factory climate controls. Get the CarPlay install job done right.
Well it’s not that people won’t opt for the v35 kit. For one. That kit is $300 and 2 you’re hard pressed to even find one these days, as I’m fairly certain they don’t make them anymore

8:00 the g35 cluster has circuit board issues. The backlighting fails prematurely and the gas gauge has issues. If it's an auto and the manumatic feature starts failing to engage most of the time it's linked back to something in the cluster not allowing it to switch over. I just had to send mine in for repairs, roughly the same price as trying to source a used cluster with random miles on it.
I got a G37 sedan for 6k, and it needed work , it needed a lot of work, but legitimately, these are nice cars. They have a reliable 330 hp motor, excellent driving dynamics, nice features while not being overwhelmingly full of tech, it was a no brainer car because it checked all the boxes. Quick, nice, comfy, and I get it, it was a piece of shit infiniti but I'm coming from a 2004 WRX okay. This interior is leagues above to me. The previous owner did straight pipe it and the fender was dented bad, but I'm committed to fixing it. I plan to hold onto it for awhile. I joke with my friends, "I'll be the last G37 on the road in 5 years."
No you won't... VQ37HR G's, EX, FX, Q50, Q60, Q70, QX50 and QX70 models will easily outlast all the DI crap every manufacturer puts out these days, minus Toyota's D4S dual injection system. My '13 G37x has 189,000+ km on it, the subframes are crusty but the frame has been Krowned to death and I get less road salt where I'm at now. It will last. A. Long. Time.
I recently bought a '10 g37x for 8k. It was a college girls car, no mods and very clean. I just got the steering lock fail though. I am in love with this car though. Best value for a car in my opinion are these and early lexus

They were the 11th generation skylines Stemming from the R35 original chassie and sub frame... My 2008 infinity with paddle shifters and VQ35HR motor sits on a skyline chassie, as many of them do from early 2000s to 2008... So there's nothing you can do about. The fact that I or many VQ fans are getting to drive around the skyline with the stupid infinity name. You can't trust any ca car.They are masters at rolling back odo's. So you are spot on with it actually having WAyyyyy more mileage than lead on to believe. Put it on a lift and you'll see.

I got an 06 g35 coupe and have also driven my friends 37 coupe. If you like straight line speed then go for the G37. But if cornering is your thing, then absolutely the g35. Lighter and has a better weight distribution.

they’re not that great, the clutch pedal legitimately causes premature wear on all clutch components, the windshield always seems to crack, they don’t come with an oil pressure gauge so your engine could just blow randomly like mine did if you don’t replace your gallery seals, the list goes on and everything is expensive to fix the right way
😂 and I'm on my second approaching 300k and wouldn't drive another car across the country because it's so reliable and easy to fix. Even if the motor blows I can yank it out in an hour.
Wrap is way cheaper than paint if you do it yourself. And let’s be real there’s not a paint job I can get for 5-800 that’s gonna last longer or look better than a wrap. Love this channel
Trust me you can. Not saying if you pay 3500 you’re gonna get the same results as me, I got my G first re sprayed 5 years ago had no issues and paint had no complaints, just found minor sanding lines, went back to the same guy and painted my G nardo and it came out amazing. But I thought ahead, I brought him all the parts in pieces so he could paint them separately, so the paint would actually go inside the bumper and stuff like that, because if you take a car to a cheap shop all they’re gonna do is most likely sand it and paint.
A heavier, longer, less desirable 350Z that thrashed the skyline badge (in japan) into a late biodesign blob with the soul of a microwave. idk. north of 1500kgs for the 2wd cars, south of 1700 for the awd cars... Since it's a nissan i'm not even sure it's a good car to crash in... 300hp 6mt in this thing might be a fairly fun experience once.
my opinion is if u just want a VQ and cant find a decently priced HR 350z and don't want a coupe DE G35 just go on a hunt for a 07/08 G35 Sedan they come with the HR and now u got a family car and something easy to build to have something fun aswell, you can also gut a lot of weight on them and make them into decent beginer drift cars
G35s had a faster top speed than most Mustangs and BMW 330... G35 had a top speed 160 mph. MT and Auto transmission with electronic shift, both hit over 150 mph.
I bought my 06 coupe in 2020 for 5300 103k miles only issue it had a rebuilt title, was in a small crash years before hand but fix and never gave me any issues 155k miles on it now and stoll my second car weekend warrior

G35 have bad clusters. They start displaying fuel incorrectly, rpm gets weird. Solder points on the back tend to fail
Depending on gen yes some do. The 03 and 04s don't really have those issues. The 05s and ups may. There are several options to get them fixed.

they’re not that great, the clutch pedal legitimately causes premature wear on all clutch components, the windshield always seems to crack, they don’t come with an oil pressure gauge so your engine could just blow randomly like mine did if you don’t replace your gallery seals, the list goes on and everything is expensive to fix the right way
I never had issues with mine... almost 200k and only did oil changes and normal maintenance.
😂 and I'm on my second approaching 300k and wouldn't drive another car across the country because it's so reliable and easy to fix. Even if the motor blows I can yank it out in an hour.

Trust me you can. Not saying if you pay 3500 you’re gonna get the same results as me, I got my G first re sprayed 5 years ago had no issues and paint had no complaints, just found minor sanding lines, went back to the same guy and painted my G nardo and it came out amazing. But I thought ahead, I brought him all the parts in pieces so he could paint them separately, so the paint would actually go inside the bumper and stuff like that, because if you take a car to a cheap shop all they’re gonna do is most likely sand it and paint.

my opinion is if u just want a VQ and cant find a decently priced HR 350z and don't want a coupe DE G35 just go on a hunt for a 07/08 G35 Sedan they come with the HR and now u got a family car and something easy to build to have something fun aswell, you can also gut a lot of weight on them and make them into decent beginer drift cars
G35s had a faster top speed than most Mustangs and BMW 330... G35 had a top speed 160 mph. MT and Auto transmission with electronic shift, both hit over 150 mph.
I bought my 06 coupe in 2020 for 5300 103k miles only issue it had a rebuilt title, was in a small crash years before hand but fix and never gave me any issues 155k miles on it now and stoll my second car weekend warrior
