Some songs are meant to make money. Some get stuck in your head and become flaming bops. This one speaks to my soul. For ten years I have had this song on my desktop, and whenever life has put me on the brink of destruction, I listen to it. The lyrics speak to me in a way that few songs can. That despite the darkness of humanitys heart, no matter how many people backstab you, that yet there is a way forward, and it is my duty to realize that life needs not be lived alone for fear of further betrayal. It keeps me going, it helps keep me unbroken. And it helps me realize... Im not alone. Youre not alone. Bless the author for this song, and may it stay on the Tube for a long, long time.
It's been almost 4 years since I found this remix and I'm still deep in love in it. I loved Cave Story's OST, and Pendulum still remains as my favourite band since a long time ago. Yesterday, I found this video again and, after like 2 years of not listening to it, I could still memorize the lyrics, it was amazing, haha. I'm deeply in gratitude to know you created this masterpiece, it's kinda hard to find something so specific to my tastes. In summary, thank you for making this, it became really special for me.
I keep coming back here a lot, this song takes me back to when I was in my later years of high school, 2014-2016, truly a highlight of my life. I had just played CS on my browser, and I went looking for the ost on RUclips and came across this video. Being a huge Pendulum fan, I immediately clicked on this video and I was not disappointed at all, I was instantly hooked on the song. And given that Pendulum were still fresh into their hiatus at the time, this was a nice way of coping with their absence lol. This song brings back so many good memories, it's a part of my teenage years which I look back on with great joy and immense longing. OP, if you still check the comments every now and then, thank you for making this masterpiece.
Hi, I do indeed still occasionally check comments! Thank you so much for your kind words and especially taking the time to share your story. I’m thrilled this song is so meaningful to you. I don’t make much music these days, but I still feel like this is the best one I produced. FYI this was created for posting on ocremix.org and their site/Yt channel hosts the actual final version of this track which is slightly different than what I uploaded here. Again, thank you for sharing and take care.
In the waterway, there is a little shack after a bunch of Jellyfishes. Go in there and rest. After you do, Curly will stay on the bed. Examine the computer, then the bookshelf in order to learn how to drain flooded robots. Do so to curly, then take her with you. After you get back to Mimiga Village and go to Arthur's House, Booster will give you the booster v2.0. In the plantation, in the little pit below the entrance door, you'll find Cthulu and Curly. Talk to Cthulu after...
...talking to Curly, and he'll tell you you need a specific mushroom. Said mushroom is in a door above the graveyard in the Mimiga Village. Inside is a purple mushroom named Ma Pignon. (I have no idea if I spelled that right.) Talk to Ma, and he'll have a line of questioning that you have to appropriately answer to get the mushroom badge. EXAMINE IT IN YOUR INVENTORY BEFORE LEAVING THE ROOM. You'll find out it's worthless. Talk to Ma again, and a battle will ensue. Go back to Curly.
@Gnynt Although, just saying... I think I read that pixel said that he is developing a sequel. How he's gonna improve from the first (and most beloved) game or when it's going to be released, I don't know. Hopefully it's true! :D
@AngelOfIron I appreciate the compliments to the track. I haven't pursued anything in regards to a flash video for this, but I don't deny it would be pretty cool.
OK, I just want to say that this video is absolutely AWESOME! Frankly, the remix is absolutely perfect. The lyrics (that some of you inexplicably complain about) really reflect the feeling you get fighting quite literally back to back with Curly. The sync of the music with the game footage could not be better as well. The only thing that I would love to see is someone with an awesome voice reciting Ballos' lines at the beginning!
To claim over and over again that we'd steal Kenichi "Hyadain" Maeyamada's work, even though he personally submitted multiple arrangements to us from his published and publicly available email address, is hilarious. We hate plagiarism as much as anyone, and he's famous enough to call us out on posting it without his explict permission if that was really the case. You can continue to get off on your conspiracy theories about how we stole Hyadain's music, but you continue to be a fool. :-)
When Booster falls down in the labyrinth, jump over to the bolder room instead of going down to him. In the Core room, there'll be a tow rope that isn't there if you got the booster v0.8 from him (thus, causing him to die. Somehow, he only dies if you observe him doing so. Whaterver.) Anyways, pick up the tow rope either before or after the Core fight, but before you run out of air. After you do, and Curly gives you her air tank, examine Curly and tie yourself to her using the tow rope.
I loved this. Cave Story and Pendulum in one. Can it get better? May I ask for the lyrics, by the way? Most of them are easy to hear, but a few lines get sort of muddled under the vocal effect.
After watching the slowed down footage of theme espacing the closing walls, I can say without a doubt they should have been crushed right before they got out.
@lampenpam You mean drum'n'bass right? :p Of course I'm familiar with dnb, but pendulum largely broke from the genre quite a while ago and my aim here was to emulate their specific sound.
.. just remember their is no original soundtrack... it's a combination of "gravity", "eyes of flame", and "last battle". each soundtrack corresponding to a different form
Ballos is pretty much a single step away from becoming a raw embodiment of evil energy, much like Giygas from the Mother series. The only solid differences relative to the lore of each game is that Ballos is still self aware, and bound to a corporeal form that you can kill with guns, swords, and laser beams.
I'm curious, did you make the lyrics with the story in mind? I'd imagine so. It seems to fit well instead of being lyrics for the sake of having lyrics with little connection to the game it remixes.
This man still be hearting comments. Dedication.

You are a great person
Bro honestly this is definitely one of the songs I come to for that as well. I come to this for inspiration a lot.
I'm late to the party, but between this and Labyrinth Fight remixes I'm enjoying the music.
if cave story followed standard logic when quote dies curly would take the spur and the booster and finish the fight
she can't move - her legs are broken, which is why she isn't jumping around and moving like the last part of the labyrinth
@@fyredrakon Can't move? Psh. Max Level. Machine Gun.

Nothing stays "Max level" anywhere near Ballos.
Pretty much what happens in the fan made sequel "Jenkas nightmare"
Even all these years later...
This is still my favorite remix of one of my favorite boss battle songs.
Same bro ;)
I ended the first full D&D campaign I ran with this song. Perfect for the second phase of a massive fight.
Y'know, when many people put lyrics into video game music, even if a remix, it many times doesn't sound right and out of place. This is just perfect!
Ballos is the most hardcore boss ever.
if you are a gamer, no its not
Tuto e Games Mann Hardcore not meaning difficult, but rather sick, awesome and epic
that i am talking about ;D
Maximilian Fox nope
wait, he is the most difficult boss ever, who else could be?

Yet another year and I come back to it, haha. Thanks a lot 765Craven, she's my favourite too. Now I've got a mix between Megumin and Satanya I made.

with you 100%
You should check out the 3 versions of Iron Bonds last battle remix
We old cave story fans need to hang tight,
The game footage matched surprisingly well with the song in terms of (and I know nothing about music terminology) the major shifts and stuff.
I have to say, this is one of the best remixes I've ever heard- peroid. The music, the vocals, it's all just amazing.
This is the OG remix of cave story.
Still can't stop listening to this.
Ballos is incredibly polite in welcoming you for someone who has become the embodiment of rage.
I listen to this like 3 times a day. It's incredible.

It is pendulum style. Not only a drum'n'base song, but it has the feeling of a Pendulum song. Listen to their Silicon album, you will understand.

@KatukoThunderToa Thanks for the comments. I've updated the description with the lyrics.

cuz he can't control his power
