Throughout the 19th, I'll be posting some fan favorites of one of my biggest arrangement projects of 2014.
Notes about this track:
This is what you get when a vengeful spirit of flesh and blood tries to destroy an island riddled with a terrible crown. A culmination of Mimiga Town, Eyes of Flame, Geothermal, Gestation, Meltdown 2, and even Gravity make special little segues in this grand finale of a mix.

Even back in 2014 he had those bells! I love how well this builds on the original theme, and the chiptune parts are amazing!

The fact that this didn't get as much attention as the undertale stuff you did concerns me, considering the level of quality present here. This is beautiful
It's because newer games get more attention. Cave Story has been here for a while, so its hype isn't as much as it used to be. Undertale just came out a year ago and it burst. Now it's calming down (THANK GOD).

Undertale is a good game, the fan base is mostly aids though. Still prefer Cave Story, by far.
It's sad that everyone is just saying "lol calamity bells funi" and nobody is just talking about how fucking amazing this sounds, from the beginning you were a legend DM DOKURO.
The cave story comments far outweigh the calamity ones, not sure where you got that idea from. Still a great track nonetheless.

Finally. A song that feels like an epic final battle, didn't forget what the original melody sounded like, and it even has an added bonus of giving you the feeling that "this moment is what I've been fighting for!!!". 2015/10. Or higher. The most feels I've felt in a while.

+Daniel Stwalley The part with the falling rocks was the hardest part because the rocks kill you in 1 hit, and the angels kill you in 2. The final phase of Ballos was pure hell (hard mode has no rockets too).

Wonderful remix: really emphasizes the culmination of things riding on this battle. Not only everything Quote has done, but also all the stories and losses required by the other chars.

It's astonishing how well you blended the other boss themes into the mix too, I don't think anyone's thought to doing that in the past.
Every instrument is on point, and the new original segments of the song fit in seamlessley.
I'm proud to have the album.
Adding the other boss themes kinda annoyed me.
A nice touch was at the beginning with the Cave Story + version of Last Battle.

Unfortunately the calamity community treated dm Dokuro very poorly a few years ago and he understandably no longer wants to make music for the mod

I hear everything that you took inspiration from to craft the devourer's theme. Same instruments, similar sections, similar drum patterns, It really feels like father and son like other people stated.
That said, I honestly regret discovering your music unrelated to calamity later than I could've. I love your music and style as much as I love Toby Fox's. You're both geniuses on a similar level, despite a comparison between you two being almost impossible.

Having played through Cave Story and the true ending just last night, it's always a lovely treat to come back to this album. I love a lot of the work you've done, but Cave Story Arranged holds a special place in my nostalgic heart. It is hard to imagine who I was when I was 14 and how the music you created shaped how I thought of arranged music.

Last comment i'ma make tonight but wow. This is the first track I ever heard from Dokuro and since then i've always loved his music. Now about the game, boy oh boy Ballos, what a guy! Convinced by Misery into creating the demon crown and accidentally destroyed everything even his own family in the process, being too powerful for his own good. I feel bad for Ballos, as soon as you meet him the only thing he wants, is for you to succeed in putting an end to him, even if his untamed power, malice and sorrow prevent him from standing by to accept death, he gives the fight everything he has while pushing you to overcome him and free him of his immortal torment.
I was listening to this for like 2 hours while doing my school work.

Cave story is my most favorite. Even goes above undertale, which my brother tried to play and failed because he got too bored of the story. Or maybe it's because to get the "Best" ending you have to not kill or attack anything.

ThePokeYen - Cave Story is kind of an underrated game now. If it got a little more attention (not as much as FNaF and Undertale have, but enough for it to get recognized) then I'd be pretty surprised.
Thing is, nowadays, it's all FNaF, Undertale, and more. Of course there's more Grade-A games like Dark Souls, FFVI, etc. that should get more attention, but if it's necessary, some people say that it's best to keep Cave Story and those games "hidden".
Un-Invert Mickey TBH, the fewer looney fans the better, from what I've seen, even with less followers, the Cave Story fandom is so bad, the worst corners of it may even be worse than UNDERTALE'S!

I have never played cave story, and have no idea for the context of this song, but DANG is it one of the most epic songs I’ve ever heard. Truly a masterpiece, and an extremely well executed remix, that I can still feel the intensity and desperation of the fight. Great work!

I listened to this ever since I heard the Evolution of The Theme of The Devourer of gods. Nine years ago, December 20th, 2014 till now.
Honestly this fits the game since fighting ballos on hard mode is pure agony

It has taken 3- ...no, 4 years and i still haven't reached the Ballos boss battle! I beat the "boss tower" with very little health left making Blood Stained Sanctuary absolute HELL to even get 15 feet into!! IT'S AT MAXIMUM BULLSHIT LEVELS AND IT'S STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES OF ALL TIME!!!

The magic and the mystery
Ah still the best version of this song you made, really really well made, Cave Story deserves this kind of love
I like what you did with the melody. Instead of making it a direct copy of the original, you gave it a grander sense of feel. The panic and urgency was replaced with a sense of deliberate danger, as if facing some sort of vengeful deity. I enjoy that! And the intro definite sets the tone very well.
However, there are many places where things get a bit too congested, or where the balancing could use some work. For example, the note runs at 0:33 could have been at a slightly lower volume to more easily usher in the other instrument playing the next part. Also, around 1:25, the background… are those synth strings? They're bleeding into the next chord too much, making a bit too much dissonance and muddying the rest of the instruments too. That part could have sounded so clean! Same with other areas similar to that.
I really enjoy your sense of progression. Your transitions are generally simple, but they're effective. That's definitely something that I still need to work on myself. Perhaps, if you ever have time, we could talk sometime! All in all, fantastic remix!
