To everyone that has wondered, Dino and Zoey continue to be best friends :) Zoey learned to not be rough with him and he still loves to nibble her teeth haha, they truly are best friends!
are you going to upload an update about if they're still so friendly and if there were any accidents so far? did zoe learn not to snap at the parrot? so cute.
its not gonna work the bird is gonna lock his beak to the dogs teeth and tug it out for a few till the beak slides and hits a the gums then the dog is gonna get pissed !!
It make me nervous with the dog feet paw might hurt the bird although supervise accident u never kno, I have my sun conure with 3 cats. Never let the cats come close.
You should be pushing the dog away instead of taking the bird away when he gets to rough. Might not sound like a big deal but it's allowing him to think he owns the area and can do whatever he wants and will continue to chase the bird. Gotta manage his energy levels. Overall a pretty awesome interaction lol. The bird likes it inside his mouth LOL. Are they still friends?
The word, "NO!" should be used LOTS MORE with the puppy! Otherwise, he may assume bad behavior is acceptable! I was so nervous that I kept telling Dino to bite the puppy on the lip, the nose, somewhere...unbelievable!
HubbardTheGrey Well they have to introduce them at some point early on or else the animals will not learn to not hurt each other. If they are going to be in the same house living together than this is necessary for the birds survival and it’s better to have them be monitored together in their first meeting than to have never met and the dog get startled by the bird thus injuring it from never having met it.
Super cute but I was very nervous the whole time 😂 puppies tend to be rough players, and to them, birds and other small animals are a toy. She was being gentle for the most part, but those pounces easily could have went bad
Interesting to watch, yes. But dogs have something in their saliva that is toxic to parrots. Never allow a parrot to touch or drink anything that a dog has put its mouth on. Same goes for cats.
lol I was pretty nervous myself that's why I stepped in a few times... They get along great now, always playing around the same way as in the video. They are always supervised though
Unbelievable that your pup is so good natured with your tiny Caique. I am sure you recognize that your careful refereeing is what’s keeping their relationship a success.
this could have ended differently.. with the parrot beeing dead.. they are just not fairly matched, the mass difference could be deadly, especially if you deal with a puppy you cant really control its movements and the force it uses. Furthermore you didn punish biting and rough behavior, instead you kept petting the dog. things like that would enforce negative behaviour. well i hope nothing happens.. but there were a few moments where it was getting close to a serious injury. One careless paw strike and the bird would be dead. well gl..
Dog saliva, in some 60% of dogs, does carry Pasturella like that of cats, but there are other bacteria in a dog's mouth that will cause septicemia in birds.
This video is SO COOL! Ya know, I wish that they'd have a large screen dvd player in nursing homes, that would play cool videos of animals getting along like this, playing these kinda videos 24/7, so the blessed aged peoples could go to it whenever they wanted to, just to refresh their hearts & spirits & memories!
Think we can send our prayers up about that, then see what our Maker sends us to do, to be a part of getting that happening? What did you mean by keeping sane "in that situation now"?
Just that I've come out of hospital to a nursing home to recuperate and if I didn't have internet,,RUclips and these lovely videos,I don't think I'd be sane right now.
flossie Flossie, I'm very sorry for your situation; but, I understand. I'm so lonely all the time. RUclips keeps me company & helps me pass the time. I find myself talking to these sweet animals (especially birds) all the time. I'm only 64 and feel 94 from all the time I'm alone. I hope you get well or better and can start doing things that you enjoy! Good luck & God bless you. 💜
Margie McPeak=Thank you so much for your kind words. There is a lot of bad stuff on the internet,I'm told- but I find that there is inspiration and kindness in equal measure too.I have never been comfortable sitting in front of a TV screen ,especially if it has adverts, which is why my laptop goes everywhere with me.It keeps me entertained, keeps my brain active, ensures I can buy what I need and have it delivered to my door and I'm in contact with family and friends. What more could woman want? (don't answer that,Lol)We're the same age.I'm still making friends, but as most of the clients here have Alzheimers,it's the staff I converse with most.We need to count our blessings too.You take care of yourself.X
I'm willing to bet this foolish owner is going to get this parrot injured or killed. He isn't too bright. Any bird owner knows that parrot/birds are natural prey for dogs and parrot experts warn against this type of interaction. The owner could care less about the parrot and should be reported.
only thing that annoys me about video's like this is the owners saying things like "play nice" not knowing what it looks like. Also if the dog is snapping at the bird and you don't want that, you petting the dog will only make it do it more, you petting is telling the dog what it just did was good.
ItsColour He’s interfering. When the dog does something he didn’t want he would push down on the dogs head a bit and the dog would lie down still. There’s obviously been some past training and he uses this method to let the dog know that the owner doesn’t like what he is doing and to stop.
your parrot is gorgeous! also your puppy seems so well behaved and i love her little spots aw. also my dogs have the same chipmunk toy things, did yours come with a stuffed trunk too?
YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!!! The dog could get too playful and one day accidentally KILL that bird! When dogs get friendly their instincts make them bite. You also should punish the dog when it wants to bite then take the bird away. I know this because I've had experience... My bird died ..😢
Foolish move on your part to allow a large animal to interact with a small animal. I would never ever allow that. Even like size animals I would be very careful.
I'm sorry, but this was a very stupid thing to do. That bird could have been dinner, and you didn't discipline the dog enough when she got a little too rowdy with Dino. Sure, it worked out but it might not have.
Ugh! Can't stand seeing the dog treating the bird as a chew toy 😥 NO, NOT cute at all!!! Or you wouldn't have to keep saying no bite, be gentle, over and over. As others said, all mammal saliva (dog, cat, human) can make parrots sick or worse. Plenty of Avian vet articles warning about this. And when the dig bites the bird, bird bites back harder, who is going to suffer?😥 No not being a hater with protecting our previous birds.
I wouldn't recommend this AT ALL! I breed Caiques [white bellied like this one] and DOG SALIVA ALONE, can be toxic to some birds, CAIQUES and African Grey's in particular, don't risk what this guy is doing, look it may or may not "Work out" but DO check out the affects of dog saliva on birds
You don't tell the dog to be nice and then pet him right away, because he thinks that you actually want him to bite the bird. That's why he started biting the bird more and more, because each time you told him be nice but you kept petting him and laughing, the dog thinks that you approve of him biting the bird. Before going to flight school I used to train dogs for 4 years and you're giving this dog all the wrong signals, one of these days you gone find the bird dead or badly injured from the dog. I am not saying the dog will kill it or hurt it on purpose, but just by playing to rough, you have to teach the dog the limits how rough he can play, but without laughing and petting him, because everything you did in this video is the opposite of what you should do. When you tell the dog "Be nice" say it in a firm voice and absolutely do not pet him and laugh, otherwise the dog actually thinks you approve of what he is doing.
I really like your parrot and the dog so much. Lovely animals, i do own a sun conure, parrots are so intelligent. But be careful that your dog doesn't hurt your parrot by mistake.
The bird is very courageous and patient but definitively too small. The dog takes it as a moving chewing-toy. It should be an amazon or an era to get more respect.
most gentle dog ive ever seen, AND its a puppy which makes this even more special.. funny how you repeating yourself "be nice, be gentle" while both of them have the time of their life xD this video is from 2016, according to their behavior both of them have to be best friends by now

I can for the life of me not understand why some people want to take a huge risk and introducing a predator to a prey?? Animals can be very unpredictable, so yes, it is a risk, especially on behalf of the Caique parrot. Things can startle, frighten, upset animals, outside circumstances, that its owners have no control over.
What’s the breed of the dog?? Oml!!! I’m wanting a speckled and colored dog like this one and the best I’ve come close to is an English setter but at the same time this is my favorite type of ears so that’s where border collie comes in. This is like my dream dog lmao, best of both worlds. Please let me know!!!
please don’t endanger your parrot’s like that. please be careful.you’ll be heart broken if something goes wrong. your bird could accidently be killed. puppy means no harm but accidents can happen. puppy was bitting at parrot’s head and neck. hope you heed the warning. enough of my rant.
I own a parrot and im getting a puppy in around 2 months. Im no expert, but I think I would introduce the 2 by having 1 of them in a cage or crate, for example in a trainign session the puppy is in a crate and i let the parrot see the puppy and explore around. then next session I would put the parrot in the cage and have the puppy explore, sniffing at the cage etc. I would also make sure the dog is exercised before introducing them, this way he wont have a crazzy moment! it will take some time before they can meet each other out of their cages, but for a rule of thumb, i think its important to supervise them when they are both out or close to each other! I hope their relationship is still going strong!!! Been 2 years!!
The parrot is actually just a dentist checking and cleaning the pup his teeth. The pup is not even biting, ... they just have only the mouth to see what that little coloured moving toy it is you put in front of him. I normally also warn the new dentist to bite him.
Im glad they are friends but you should be stricter with tour dog and not be encouraging the dog by laughing be firm and say no each time he play bites or tries to pounce. You need to pay attention to your dog's energy level as it was getting excited and that could have been tragic for your parrot! Also should not let your parrot go into your dog's mouth, that is not good for your parrot, just like our saliva is not good for them either. But you have a cute parrot and puppy!
Camilo Lopez You are a brave man. I have 2 caiques and my gf has a full grown dog and she is a pretty nervous dog. So i wish they could play together but im to afraid to try it. The male out of the 2 caiques i have and youngest, just wants to attack the dog from inside of the cage.
My dumb brain literally went, "Wow, that dog is being so good with that puppy!" ....... yes... my brain called the caique a dog. My caique is not friends with my dogs, and will ATTACK them if she gets the chance.
- Extraordinary Beauriful !!!!!! - So much LOVE Together .... - Both have good caracter...!!!!!!! In few days , they can sleep together . - BRAVO FOR YOUR VIDEO !!!!!!!
To everyone that has wondered, Dino and Zoey continue to be best friends :) Zoey learned to not be rough with him and he still loves to nibble her teeth haha, they truly are best friends!
It's dangerous for birds to nibble human teeth because of mouth bacteria that are very dangerous to the bird. I assume it also applies to dogs.
why would you know that...? I mean where would you even obtain that info? do you have nibbling caiques? xD (yes I know you don't I'm not stupid)
You are just so cruel.
Hey Camilo! Any chance you can grace us with an update video?
This owner is an idiot. Saliva is so dangerous to parrots and one bite can kill a parrot. Fools like this should not have pets. Idiot!!
you have some nice dogs there. what breed is the green one
abu adel ffthe green one is a caique and its species is called white bellied caique
I never thought there was such thing as a green dog!
Lol parrot now called dog!! Admitted!!! We have a new small dog!🤘🏻🤘🏻
the bird is a caique
it isn't an ari
"this is dino, our dog"
video of bird
I liked Ur pets so much.
Too cute. Already playing ball.
they are so sweet and looking so funny
I have a caique that looks just like yours and I’m bringing home a corgi in like 2 weeks. I hope I can get the two of them can get along this well!
Pup not too thrilled about birb using his bed.
The little steps it takes, I just can't lol.
What breed(s) is the dog? She is ADORABLE!! Loved the entire video. It made my heart melt ♥
This video made my day. Thx :)
This is super cute... until started making me really nervous.
What kind of dog is zoey, she sure is cute. And do they still get along
are you going to upload an update about if they're still so friendly and if there were any accidents so far? did zoe learn not to snap at the parrot? so cute.
AWWW! How are they now?
The dog bit the bird and the bird is DEAD. I have no idea about the dog.
@theroadrunner5519 where did you hear that? He hasn't posted saying that on youtube. And there is another video of the bird from 11 months ago
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Happy new year 2:31

I thought dog saliva was poisonous to birds.
It most certainly is! I'm not so sure that this is a good idea (in fact I'm sure it's not!) but they are being very playful with each other.
its not gonna work the bird is gonna lock his beak to the dogs teeth and tug it out for a few till the beak slides and hits a the gums then the dog is gonna get pissed !!
How is that ‘best friends already’? That dog is going to kill that bird
This guy is beyond pathetic for risking his caique like that

me too
It make me nervous with the dog feet paw might hurt the bird although supervise accident u never kno, I have my sun conure with 3 cats. Never let the cats come close.
@@myquach7786 my cats don’t mess wit my bird they are too old n plus they’re scared lol, we have a Mexican mom😂
@@myquach7786 they’re used 2 puttin on the burners
Me too!!!
Man, that bird is a real treasure. My parrot would have shredded the dog just by principle. Never saw a bird that relaxed. :)
Especially for an aggressive species like the caique
@@ShaiOsman That’s…yep, what you said 😅
You should be pushing the dog away instead of taking the bird away when he gets to rough. Overall a pretty awesome interaction lol. The bird likes it inside his mouth LOL. Are they still friends?
Yes! they are still best friend and even though our pup is all grown up they still play the same exact way. :)
Camilo Lopez wow iam scared for the bird and he is not mine ×_×
The word, "NO!" should be used LOTS MORE with the puppy! Otherwise, he may assume bad behavior is acceptable! I was so nervous that I kept telling Dino to bite the puppy on the lip, the nose, somewhere...unbelievable!
Caiques play fight
This could really get ugly very quick... one wrong move and that bird is in danger.
Mattias Matsson
Stop what? He's right.
It's totally cool! He's saying, "play nice", brah!
Some people have no sense. It's all about ego and RUclips views
Robert Simmons Yes! Parrots are easily 😢 hurt.
This video is giving me anxiety. It's nice to see them playing together, but a dog can be a bit too powerful.
Super cute but I was very nervous the whole time 😂 puppies tend to be rough players, and to them, birds and other small animals are a toy. She was being gentle for the most part, but those pounces easily could have went bad
Honestly I want bird advice from you, that's one of the nicest birds I ever saw. Also a gorgeous pup!
am scared maybe the dog bite the bird
your dogs going to have a VERY clean mouth, looks like your parrot keeps trying to stick his head in the dogs mouth to clean it
Interesting to watch, yes. But dogs have something in their saliva that is toxic to parrots. Never allow a parrot to touch or drink anything that a dog has put its mouth on. Same goes for cats.
Well, thanks for giving me anxiety.
I couldn't watch the video till the end. It put me too much on edge; I realised I was holding my breath the whole time. How do they get along now?
lol I was pretty nervous myself that's why I stepped in a few times... They get along great now, always playing around the same way as in the video. They are always supervised though
I was pretty nervous myself". bla bla bla... Why don't you put your "tongue" in Dinos's mouth?
OMG those ears! i wanna smush em
Wow the Dogs saliva is getting on the bird is that healthy for the bird?
your bird and your puppy are both doing so well
Unbelievable that your pup is so good natured with your tiny Caique. I am sure you recognize that your careful refereeing is what’s keeping their relationship a success.
They both are learning to enjoy each others company without harming each other good job pet dad!
Your parrot is a ham! I have an African Grey and I doubt he would be so outgoing and friendly with a big dog.
the dog has got one the best, most elegant, outrageously beautiful pair of ears.
this puppy is friendly little angel who wants to play and be friends with everybody)))
You need to discipline that dog more thoroughly
this could have ended differently.. with the parrot beeing dead.. they are just not fairly matched, the mass difference could be deadly, especially if you deal with a puppy you cant really control its movements and the force it uses. Furthermore you didn punish biting and rough behavior, instead you kept petting the dog. things like that would enforce negative behaviour. well i hope nothing happens.. but there were a few moments where it was getting close to a serious injury. This canine has plenty of bird dog in him. Interesting.
the bird so smart not afraid of dog

Mammal saliva is toxic to birds... Just to add that extra anxiety of having these two together 🙃

So i wish they could play together but im to afraid to try it.
The male out of the 2 caiques i have and youngest,
just wants to attack the dog from inside of the cage.
I would be terrified the puppy would get carried away. He could kill the bird without trying to.
What could happen is Zoey plays a bit too rough and accidentally injurs the parrot, and then wants to hide the evidence. Burp!
It feel it's just putting the bird's life at risk..one unintentional wrong move can turn it from playful to a sad moment..
What breed is this little dog? 😍
She is a Border Collie mix
My dumb brain literally went, "Wow, that dog is being so good with that puppy!" ....... yes... my brain called the caique a dog. My caique is not friends with my dogs, and will ATTACK them if she gets the chance.
Dogs are naturally hanters. A little bird like that can be easily targeted. That's so stupid!!!
The caique would nail the dog if he were being too rough.. I know my conure would have!
Caiques don't fear anything, crazy birds
Terrifying on many levels.
Actually the parrot knows it can lock its beak on the dogs teeth and pull for some tug of war fun
