Issues fitting my Pippens wind deflector to a Mercedes SLK

- Today we follow my attempts of fitting a new Pippens wind deflector to my Mercedes 2006 R171 SLK.
Now I am not a DIY man.....and you will see some proof of this statement folks, but this was not as straight forward as I believed it would be from watching the instillation video or reading the instructions.
Well packaged. Look simple enough. Perhaps they can update their instructions. Also the bolts would look better black
I really like the rollbar inserts, the Mercedes logo is a really nice touch.

And the smoke glass looks nice, it adds detail and fingerprints won't show anywhere near as much

Do anything like that for the r170 I'm after some sort of visor on top of the windscreen pillar or something that attaches to the sun visors. I get awful sun glare when the roof is down feels like the roof doesn't go far enough back when it's high in the sky. is there any like smoke glass window that covers over the front of the windscreen roof??
Why did you not try longer bolts ???
Because I used what they said worked, which was the existing bolts. Turns out, they do, just a bugger to fit. Personally I think they should send out longer bolts in the pack , part of the deflector kit.
Looks painful to install, at least it comes with a free cat though.
HELP ME WITH MY SLK GLASS ROOF PLEASE
Hi Dave I've just bought an SLK 250CD with a glass roof and there is a solid lining blocking out the light fox sake why did Mercedes do this
So would you do a vlog with my car and i can pay for the parts I can get a roof liner for £300 on EBay its £2300 with Mercedes Benz
All there is are 2 screws and 6 clips I think I saw a German guy relacing his roof on a SLK 350 and it looked easy
Surely there must be loads of people with glass roofs who don't know you can do this and nobody has done a vlog here on this subject

So if you are interested please let me know I'm fuming i was conned, I asked if there was a glass roof and the salesman said yes which there was but I should have asked if it was a sky roof so its my fault, the salesman could have been more helpful but then I wouldn't have bought the car

You have to be so careful. Due to the roof mech, you need the correct supports for the roof if it needs to be left in an open position to do the work, as you also need to override the roof from closing. Even some German car specialists won't do work on the roof.
I would advise you to go on a website like www.slkworld.com or some specialist FaceBook Mercedes groups.
Your car is also a R172, so will be different to my R171.
