6:33 - 6:38 After touring the wicked new home gym: "To clarify, I was never kicked out of my gym" HAHAHAHA...that just came out hilarious, especially in the context of Alex pioneering crazy ridiculous weights on rackpull at his old gym.
@@joshpalao6466 you are strong! I just saw your videos! What ca I say? It's been an interesting journey so far... I dedicated myself completely to boxing (and body weight exercises) for three years due to the fact that in Italy during covid times the only sport activities allowed without a stop were "competetive amateur or professional ones" , so i singned up in a boxing gym. I started lifting again 1 year and a half ago hitting numbers that I'm tryng to beat this winter... 140lb (63kg) weighted chin, 175lb (79kg)ohp, 260lb bench (118kg), 430lb (195kg) regular deadlift (but I switched to sumo recently), 250 (113kg) front squat... Nothing special but honest work. I’m not naturally heavy: now I'm 6'2, 200lb, not shredded by any means but I'm lean, and know I should gain weight to lift more. But I have to be honest: at the moment the Bar I’m thinking the most is not the Bar-bell, but the Bar exam to becoma a lawyer ahaha. Following Alex since the rack pull above the kness era: Alex’s channel changed a lot for the better, not just in the name, and now there is a good comunity with genuine people, "the noble natties". For who is reading: go watch Alex old and new videos, find your training style and goals. You can do whathever you whant in fitness and in life and maybe the secret is don't let bad events beat you down. For example I have an injury now in my left shoulder, but I know it’s healing and better days are coming. Happy new year every body, 2024 will be full of gainz and PRs for everyone! And thank you again Alex for the information and the inspiration.
The convenience alone is worth it... tried going to the gym but so much time wasted and waiting for the machines to be empty, i was losing motivation. Now i just used one of my rooms for a multi functional machine and a bench + dumbells/bar and its gold, i can do a lot more training when "going to the gym" is walking into the other room.
Well louie Simmons changed your life and we are glad cause now you change our lives keep it up you are deeply supported. We live and breath this with you AlphaDestiny " Rockin the Rack"
That's a beautiful set up. Me, I just have 300+lbs worth of weights, some DIY concrete barbells, 2 thick floor mats and a wooden bench I made myself. Gotta get those gains.
This is very similar to the setup I have, and it's great. AmStaff TR025 power rack available on Amazon or at Fitness Avenue, and it includes the fat dip bars so it's a great value. Very sturdy. The safeties are amazing, much better grade than the usual saber-type safeties found in most lower-priced racks. The plate tree is also AmStaff, and has 6 bar holder posts on its base. I plant a landmine in the post hole with an olympic bar and I have a rowing station. I also own the safety squat bar and the swiss bar from AmStaff that Alex has, these are great pieces as well at a good value. Don't listen to the AmStaff haters, if you work out at home with proper form and don't go out of your way to abuse your equipment then you'll do find with that brand.
Alex can you take some time to write the names of the equipment you just showed and buying links. Would really serve as a benchmark when building a home gym
I've asked the brand of the power rack in the comments before & didn't get an answer so i decided to look up this video and he still didn't tell the name of it. *Sighs*
I love it. I don't believe in overtraining as long as you eat right, sleep good, and stay injury free. Train every weekday and rest on weekends, or at least rest on Sat or Sun. If you're healthy and eating good, this will get you farther, faster IMHO. Well, it's what is working for me, and has worked for me in the past. I used to do Bro splits, when I was younger, and I never saw good gains from it. More frequency gave me the results I wanted faster.
The comment that was made that you got kicked out of your gym was actually a compliment brother they were basically saying that you're getting too strong for the weights
Just started full body training with intensity/volume/calisthenics "freestyle" so we're talking about 3-4 trainings a week. Will come back 1 month from now telling how it goes. But pretty sure gonna get mindblowing progress. Love your channel man.
I worked out for a long time at the gym/ home, home only, and now gym only. Train where u are most likely to actually to put the time in, or be the most motivated. Right now I am more motivated to train hard around other people who are working out too.
Damn Alex. Wish i had a set up like this! One day maybe! Hope you are doing well man crazy to see how much your subs have blown up this year. Keep up the great work man
Set up my pocket gym in guest room on other side of house. So convenient to be able to workout out anytime my work/family permits whether it be early morning or late evening.
I have a question... Can Spaniards understand and speak easily with other Spanish speaking South Americans? And how hard is it to learn Spanish if you're portugese and the other way around?
Awesome bro. I’m actually scouting Craigslist for some equipment. I don’t need to get a home gym, but I figure if I come across something used that is cheap, I can buy it.
Love this. Started Westside training from an Olympic lifting perspective a few weeks ago after plateauing and hit PRs in the first 3 week wave, this shit works!
Epic Home-gym bro, I'm sure you're enjoying the hell out of it. I just got myself one as well. Don't have a power rack cuz I'm a poorkunt and don't have much space as well, but I'll get some kind of a mini rack/stand where I can do them rack pulls for them traps. One addition I'd make is Spud's Econo pulley system for those Tricep isolation workouts like cable pulldowns, rope pushdowns etc. You can just attach it to your pow rack, and use that loading pin with plates, and Boom - there's your cheap pulley system with which you can do isolation exercises at home.
I tried rack pulls above the knee for the first time 225 5x15. I see why you do them man I’ve never felt my traps working so well in my life, like every rep constant tension. I wanna get yoked af now
Not all the time like these other boring fitness vloggers, but every once in awhile a shopping/grocery and cooking vids would be greatly appreciated man.

Sweet video/ home gym! Like you said, everything you need. Me and my girl, also a gym rat, we like to play this game where we ask each other if we could only have blah blah blah on an island what would we have to train with? Nice home setup man, but going to the gym is much more fun for me. It's nice to have other lifters around you who have similar goals as you. But it is better for you when you need to film lifts. It's a pain in the ass to film in gyms. Cheers !
Kyo Slovakia ... Yeah I like the energy at the gym. Inspires me more and think I lift better. And most times there aren't any dickheads and maybe sometimes only a bit of annoying stuff.
Hey Alex at a glance it looks like you have the same safety squat bar as me. If your neck pad has the Velcro/is adjustable, sometimes it slips out of place. I would suggest wedging a rope in there and then tying the loose ends around the bar if you have that problem
Hey man! As an audio engineer/NE fan, id recommend investing on some proper sound panels for your wall. When you said in this video, "it prevents echo", your voice was infact echoing! Small potatoes i know, but from a physics standpoint, as well as an aesthetic standpoint (in camera shot only), it will sound, and look, much more professional! Hit up your local music store and ask about sound panels/baffles, they will sort you out!
Alex what's a good way too use periodization to only increase your bench? I was thinking about doing a slingshot bench for 1 week, Weighted dips next week, High pin press week 3, and Close grip bench week 4. Ill have one day intensity day for each lift, and one volume day for the lift each week. What would be a good rep scheme for the volume and intensity days? And some good accessories for them? My bench is 380 and I'm trying to get to 405.
How high is your ceiling?I have an 8ft ceiling, and the measurements of the power rack online say 7ft high which should give me a foot of clearance overheard when doing pullups.....but I'm skeptical
Hey Alex loved the video and I was wondering if you have any tips for having that "I don't give a fuck" attitude you seem to rock 24/7. I would appreciate the help bro
What power rack is that? I'm really contemplating buying some equipment for home use and quitting my gym to do actual lifts with barbells, not the smith machine. Maybe then I'll finally see some real gains. Recently subbed, very inspirational content.
Hey Alex I just purchased a home gym machine. What's your opinion on those? It's a Marcy 81010. It's got a 200lbs weight stack but the max resistance varies for every exercise. Chest press peaks at about 270lbs which is fine for me. It's got a leg extension station, pull down, high pulley, low pulley, and the press arms adjust so you can use them for butterflies or rows.
