    Emanuel Augustus might just be the most entertaining fighter in history. But sadly, corrupt judges and life itself haven’t always been fair to him. You can leave a few words of support on his Instagram: instagram.com/emanuelaugustus.drunkenmaster/
    It would mean a lot for him to know that fans still respect and remember him, the ones he performed for in the ring.

      Man, it's really cool that you linked his Insta in your pinned comment. As much as I enjoyed this video, I doubt I would have thought to seek him out, as I'm not big on posting on social media, beyond the occasional comment on RUclips to support my favorite content creators. With that said, thanks for making it easy for fans to reach out and send him some words of appreciation and encouragement. It's awesome seeing creators actually encourage viewers to do so, and I don't think it should be a rarity.

      @@demjay Nope, you can credit Don King and his cronies for those losses. Boxing is still corrupt today and Don King and his circle of clowns are still fixing the match ups. Even if it's a bit more difficult to see, you can just look at the way the title match ups are given, it's way obvious who gets protected and who has to actually defend their titles. It's a great sport but they've been doing their best to ruin it for decades.

      Boxing is the only big time professional sport with no real league or governing body. It’s ridiculous. Literally run by a handful of corrupt promoters like Don King and Bob Arum…it’d be great if was like the professional golf where you’re properly ranked and paid since it’s an individual sport.

    He was born 20 years too early, had he been in his prime in the social media era he’d be one of boxings biggest superstars.
    As an aside his fight vs Micky Ward is one of the best fights I’ve ever seen, and is definitely worth checking out. You know you’ve witnessed something special when the ref hugs and kisses both fighters after the bell.

      I know it's weird to say but it's like he's not showboating but actually out there having fun... even though he's showboating. He reminds me of when I ran track. The medals were cool but I didn't really case about losing, win/loss records, or times. It just was the adrenaline of the competition and love of the sport.

    • @wileecoyoteee9416
      @wileecoyoteee9416 3 дня назад

      I don't even think he was doing it to talk sh* really. I think he was mostly just trying to stay loose, have fun, and making it hard for his opponent's brain to track patterns (because his movements and little freeze stops, were somewhat random and hard to predict), while at the same time, giving himself all kinds of different angles - AND a lot of the movements were loading up his shots with power at the same time, too. (Yet, it was disguised by the movements). That, and it probably made some people mad and threw them off of their game some too lol.
      He did basically say in an interview that it was also a mental thing for him - that because he was having fun with it, it kept him loose, instead of getting all tight and rigid, and like, keyed up. It's on RUclips! I'm guessing I found it from just typing his name in

      @misanthrophex 2 месяца назад +3

      Not so much ahead of time, as having his style. No one will be able to reproduce this fighting style to make it a "norm". Some fighters have that something special about them that is completely unique, or at least insanely rare. The "drunken" technique is old, but you have to be born with it I think, it can't be learned. And if the person is actually a skilled fighter, such fighter will always be a threat even to the top champions, because top fighters rely so much on "knowing" what's gonna happen when, "drunken" style really throws it all off, leaving anyone, at minimum, bamboozled...

    Don King and his criminal cronies should be ashamed of the way they treated such a talent. Boxing has been corrupt for decades and Don King and his mob have been a big part of the reason. It's sad because it's such a great sport.
    Agustus's record is a lie. He won more fights than he lost and deserves a better legacy. Thanks VoteSport, you guys are one of my favorites.

Although it’s hard to truly tell who one the fights that weren’t completely reviewed I can see how judges would unit against a guy who has a style and personality of someone who doesn’t take the sport “serious”. Fighters back then shouldn’t smile, move in ways that are counter do disciplined, focused “professionals”. And to punish his unprofessional style they heaped loads of unprofessional decisions upon him. The fight against Courtney was behind bias. Great video.

    Life is so cruel to some but these just never would go down the road to play the victim.
    Manny is a true champion.

    I always thought this guy was a clown. I was at the Mickey Ward fight in Hampton Beach and I was a big Ward fan. Seeing this video, this dude was good and clearly got screwed out of a lot of wins. Thanks for opening my eyes.

    Most of his ‘losses’ were absolute robberies where the judges just hated how he fought.

      Boxing is the only big time professional sport with no real league or governing body. It’s ridiculous. Literally run by a handful of corrupt promoters like Don King and Bob Arum…it’d be great if was like professional golf where you’re properly ranked and paid since it’s an individual sport.

      A proper manager would've prevented those judges being paid off.
      Part of his role as a fight anyone at short notice journeyman, was to provide a decent work out for his opponents aspirations. Too show them what boxing skills top level fighters rated higher will have, without the danger of a power packed knock out punch.
      You can see why Manny used to showboat so much early on in his career, it made him a good choice as an opponent for an up and coming fighter as their coach can use the fight to get their boxer to smarten up. Manny wouldn't get so many journeyman fights if he actually started defeating these guys and knocking them off from their well planned out professional career path that Manny was providing a step for them on that pathway

    I watch so many of the Votesport vids that I hear his narration in my head all day commenting on everything I do. “When the light changed, Tom dropped the hammer and sent the Prius in the next lane to the shadow realm!” So, thanks for that…
