Emanuel Augustus might just be the most entertaining fighter in history. But sadly, corrupt judges and life itself haven’t always been fair to him. You can leave a few words of support on his Instagram: instagram.com/emanuelaugustus.drunkenmaster/ It would mean a lot for him to know that fans still respect and remember him, the ones he performed for in the ring.
Man, it's really cool that you linked his Insta in your pinned comment. As much as I enjoyed this video, I doubt I would have thought to seek him out, as I'm not big on posting on social media, beyond the occasional comment on RUclips to support my favorite content creators. With that said, thanks for making it easy for fans to reach out and send him some words of appreciation and encouragement. It's awesome seeing creators actually encourage viewers to do so, and I don't think it should be a rarity.
Aint nobody been done so bad by the judges more than Emanuel. If he'd have been in his prime today then he'd have been much loved rather than ridiculed by commentators.
@@demjay Nope, you can credit Don King and his cronies for those losses. Boxing is still corrupt today and Don King and his circle of clowns are still fixing the match ups. Probably the most underrated fighter ever and I enjoyed watching him. I remember watching one particular fight where he was CLEARLY robbed of the decision.
Certainly one of the most entertaining. I still find it hard to swallow the disingenuous commentary of the time.... as though Atlas and Merchant didn't know exactly what Agustus was doing. Pulling your opponent into your own rhythm, and then crushing him with one discordant note. A Legend.
@@derricktalbot8846 I used to spare with him in Florida and everything you said would be correct !!! And he was always willing to help you with your training.
I know it's weird to say but it's like he's not showboating but actually out there having fun... even though he's showboating. He reminds me of when I ran track. The medals were cool but I didn't really case about losing, win/loss records, or times. It just was the adrenaline of the competition and love of the sport.
I don't even think he was doing it to talk sh* really. I think he was mostly just trying to stay loose, have fun, and making it hard for his opponent's brain to track patterns (because his movements and little freeze stops, were somewhat random and hard to predict), while at the same time, giving himself all kinds of different angles - AND a lot of the movements were loading up his shots with power at the same time, too. (Yet, it was disguised by the movements). That, and it probably made some people mad and threw them off of their game some too lol. He did basically say in an interview that it was also a mental thing for him - that because he was having fun with it, it kept him loose, instead of getting all tight and rigid, and like, keyed up. It's on RUclips! I'm guessing I found it from just typing his name in
Emanuel's body work, despite being largely unheralded because his style was so unorthodox, was truly something to behold. Great video as always, VoteSport!
Imagine if he had top-notch management? He would be in the Hall of Fame. How could be be robbed so many times I am appalled watching this video. Thank you for doing such a great job.
How did I miss this chap? He was solid as iron. The punches he took from his opponents were devastating but Im impressed cuz he sure did returned the favour with some hilarious entertainment to go with it
Not so much ahead of time, as having his style. No one will be able to reproduce this fighting style to make it a "norm". Some fighters have that something special about them that is completely unique, or at least insanely rare. The "drunken" technique is old, but you have to be born with it I think, it can't be learned. And if the person is actually a skilled fighter, such fighter will always be a threat even to the top champions, because top fighters rely so much on "knowing" what's gonna happen when, "drunken" style really throws it all off, leaving anyone, at minimum, bamboozled...
The only one worth watching. The videos will be remembered as legendary themselves. There's actual humour, a healthy amount of it that is. Other places have shitty humour and/or overuse it. There's also respect for every fighter. You can tell the people in this channel are really into martial arts/ fighting.
