Nice. I really enjoyed that video. Thanks! Just got my 69' SR back from the shop today. I'm a drummer who owns a live blues venue. But I know enough to take care of my gear and learn as much as I can. I thoroughly enjoy hearing my SR being played by so many pro guitarists every week! Thanks again for the demo. Nice chops!

Thank you! It is a great amp for sure!! I love Silverfaces in particular as Blackfaces are so expensive now.

Love a Super Reverb. They sound so rad. It's cool that you had Clark blackface the amp and Weber recone the original speakers. Very cool video!

Those Weber boys do some fine work, no doubt.
I had some P10R's in my '64 Super Reverb and those guys were dogs. Would not handle any bottom end at all. And you can take the return line from the reverb tank and using the right connecting cable and adapter, run it into the front of your amp. Roll off most all the bass and boost the treble on the NORMAL channel, and your reverb sound will improve greatly.

Thanks for the comment. The reverb isn't currently working - I replaced the tank, but it isn't that - also changed teh reverb tube. It's going in the shop soon...

Didnt all the 68's have the blackface circuit still in them, as 1968 was the last blackface era year? I just watched a video where sn amp tech said thid. Im looking at buying 68. Thanks for sharing? 👍

It really depends on the amp, but there were said to be holdovers in 68-69 that were mostly blackface. That said, when Mike Clark went through mine, he changed some components to “Blackface” it. I guess it depends and you have to get someone knowledgeable to open it up and check it out. Thanks for the view!

The tube chart inside the cabinet indicates its the AB763 blackface circuit. Components date 1967 to very early 1968 👌

@@ErikThomasMusic The date inside the chassis itself shows 1967

I have a very similar ‘69. Had ab763 label but it wasn’t. I “black faced” it. Then got ahold of a quad of reconed early ‘70s fender alnicos. I am a big fan of reconed vintage speakers vs reissues. I have many Weber reconed speakers in my possession. These old supers get an awesome crunch when cranked with humbuckers. Awesome amp!

I have read from many sources that Fender used the tube charts regardless of what circuit was used and it is not a good indicator of what you have. There were a ton of “transitional” amps made in the late ‘60s. The only way to know is to get inside the amp and check the actual components as Mike Clark did with this amp. This one sounds really good. Most do from this era, regardless of what components are in them.
