- Eiji and his younger brother Maki form the "invincible" Works-R tuned Lan Evo street racing duo in Osaka, Japan. Eiji has a 400hp Lancer Evolution 5, and his apprentice Maki has an Evo 6. But Maki has much to learn from the masters. This video includes 3 races: Eiji vs Maki, Eiji vs the Blackbird Porsche 964, and both Evo's vs the K-Racing Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. To be fair, i think the side characters had good ends unlike the mains, stucked in a endless loop of being hunted by different racers as the days go by

longevity the rotarys will win on the wangan not much so being bias, the 4g will have the endurance however not for long the wangan. One main factor is the weight compared to the fd or fc less weight less oil consumption even at the fullest potential

It's hard to believe that the same dude who voiced Takumi (Shinichiro Miki if I'm correct) also voiced Tatsuya. That alone is pretty awesome imo.

It's funny how Takumi is a doctor who races Kamen Rider on the Wangan for fun when he doesn't feel like mingling with the hot nurses.

@mingyaowu7720 If anything, TXR3 is MUCH easier than Zero in my opinion. Less information out there about Zero but more characters and requirements and where to find them in zero for the first time is nuts 😭 But both games are goated fr 🙏🏽

Man, funny to see how in Initial D, Evos are the kings of the streets but in the Wangan (not in the video but later on) it's a real underdog. It has a FWD based AWD (not biased just based on) and a 4 cylinder turbo in a world of big twin turbo 6s

single turbo cars are faster for top speed and 4g63 evo motors can easily hit 600hp on a budget and 1200+ with a pro racers wallet.

Even GT3 (or A-group) Mitsubishi couldn't accelerate past 250, but their 0-175 faster than 2005 Buggati.
meanwhile the R32 (and I guess the R33 as well) in Initial D is considered heavy and sluggish meanwhile in the Wangan it's fast and easy to drive, and popular too

Evos are like leopards. Pretty good in all fields. Agility. Sprint. Power. And flexibility. You could focus on any and the evo can do it. Hence it was told here that in terms of ability. The evo is 15. Blackbird 10 and the devil z 8.
Evos are used on drag strips. Time attacks. Rally. Jesus. The perfect car.
Somehow ,the saying "Jack of all trades,master of none" popped into my mind....

アニメになってよかったなぁ～って思うこと……クルマの動きの臨場感や没入感は半端なくなって、見ていて手に汗握るスリルを味わえるようになった。
対してダメになったなぁ～って感じた事は、みんなも思ってる事だと思うけど、キャラの画が死んでること。挿し絵でも良かったのに無理やりアニメを仕上げてきたからこうなったと思う。
もう少しだけでも時間をかけてコンテを仕上げてほしかった。キャラの世界観が台無しになってる。その他もろもろ……どうして……
このエボのバンパー売ってないのかなぁ…

It's not surprising, considering a stock Evo can eat stock GT-R's for breakfast on circuit tracks. Check out Best Motoring Japan. The VR4 and Evo are top dogs. Mitsubishi was in it's prime!

Have both gtr and evo5 have to say Mitsubishi made actual piece of art the car is well put together it’s stiff and you feel connected to it. Gtr not even comparable to it evo is just a wild getaway machine something u use for robing banks gtr on the other hand is about big powers and higher speed.

It's bizarre to me that there aren't a lot of R34's as much as there are R32's or R33's.
Well, probably the R34 was still relatively new in the anime's timeline.
The story took place in late 90's and early 2000's, and R34 was still relatively new at that time. In fact it was considered rare since racing in Wangan at that time started to dying.

Am I the only one that enjoyed Wangan Midnight more than initial D? Both are great shows but Initial D is over hyped and whenever there was a race involving Takumi, you kno he will win before the race starts lool
I like WM about the same. The thing I hate the most about Initial D is that they over-hype every race and then during the race they constantly show people blabbing about who they think will win and why lol. Wangan Midnight is just tuning and racing and less BS. haha
Not trying to start an argument, but conversely I found the story of Initial D a lot more boring xd
For me, the plot of Initial D was just "I want to get better at racing" and not much more than that. With Wangan Midnight, they dive deeper into motives, reasoning, passion, etc. You have characters going through existential crises, racing for justice, means for escape, etc. It may seem jarring with all the cuts and jumps, but I feel that WM has a stronger plot than ID because they really dig into the "why" of racing.

I feel you dude. Initial D was good but after season 2 it just got shitty. Too many asspulls just so Takumi won't lose.
I love both equally, but there's something about both, at least for me, with Initial D, you get the basics about the car and the car culture, how cars work, how they manouver, racing system, types of car, etc... but with Wangan Midnight, there's no such a thing as a basic explanation for new enthusiasts, you either understand or you don't and fuck you, like +@Breezy Interwebs said, ID it's the car of the "car culture", it's pretty much the basics, while WD it's the "culture" itself, which means that if you don't understand the car, you'll never understand the culture, which will led you to think WM is shite, when in fact, it's much more complex than ID, Wangan Midnight is the type of anime you'll only understand when you're fully into cars.
I don't think it matters how good a car is or how fast if the driver is unsure of himself or herself that car won't do well
A car's potential definitely matters, but if the driver doesn't have the mental potential and skill to go with that it will struggle to win races.

I was wondering why that K-Racing R-34 backed out at the ending.
As the story goes, K Racing knew he was outmatched by Eiji so he saw no point in continuing. Kind of lame for a sponsored professional racer, I know.
@@BlazebeatRacing well, with respect to the R, it's not quite suitable for the Osakan circuit anyways, because it lacks agility that were present on Evo and Impreza.
Should it comes to Wangan, probably it is in the same league with both the Blackbird and Z.
And sometimes, quoting Ryosuke Takahashi, there're some amateur racing drivers that possess the same skills as a professional drivers.
Eiji, and Dr God Arm are the example of that.

Dont listen to these children. An evo is an excellent starter car. An excellent starter car is any car that has a lot of parts available. Evos have a huge following and aftermarket support. So its good.
