Christina was one of the first singers that included a positive representation of the LGBTQ+ community. And in 2002 under a republican administration when it wasn't "cool" to support gay people. She helped a lot of people with this one and I'll be eternally grateful to her.
Jeez! Madonna was doing this during the aids epidemic. Dionne Warwick released that’s what friends are for for those dying and suffering from the disease. Praise Christina without lying
That fact that she recorded this in one take. 😭😭😭 That “don’t look at me” was actually what she said in the studio before she started singing and the songs writer and producer Linda Perry kept it in.
I love your reaction. I can feel you really connect with the song like most of us. I just can feel it while watching you. Im glad this kade you happy :)
That gay couple kissing alone shook the entire world during that time, she is the only if not one of the few that portrait that image , so it very taboo then, and now you can see many representation of lgbt+ from artists now, so I saluted her to have the bravery to put this out and many more, also to handle all the backlash during that time.
Interesting note: the main vocal we hear on the track was Christina’s very first time singing the song for songwriter Linda Perry, who fought with Christina to have it on the record. (Christina wanted to re-record her vocals and make it ‘perfect’)
Also, Linda knew the song was Christina's when she said "don't look at me" to the friend she brought into the studio with her. That's why they added it into the song.
Jack I really like your reactions! I was a closeted teen when this video came out. I don't think you can fully appreciate what it meant but I think you did capture the spirit. Keep up the good work!
"I'm Okay" is what I would say is her most personal, emotional, and darkest song. It's definitely something worth listening to. It's on the same album as this song. Her whole Stripped album is just beautiful. (pun intended) Her most recent work has some of her best songs and vocal performances. I highly recommend her songs Twice and Unless Its With You. Both vocally stunning.
Awww I loved this. I know you are much younger than me, but I bet you are sooo chill to hang out with!! I had heard this song so much when it first came out that I lost the sentiment that goes along with the song/video, but watching your reaction really made me feel. Have a blessed day!!
👏You were so on point with your take on "Beautiful" Jack! This song is one of the most poignant and prolific songs ever sung/written...Christina kills it 🔥😢
I haven't heard this song in years! It hits on another level when you hear it years later. I couldn't help but cry listening to this and seeing the video again. Definitely one of Christina Aguilera's best tracks!
Ive been a Xtina fan for more than two decades, your video is a great reminder of how powerful & influential she is and how much X is so relatable, she's just like all of us.
Great and honest reaction. This song came out at a time when pop music didn't touch these themes. As you say, TLC and Mary did it before and with great success.
Before this song a lot of people for some reason hated Christina Aguilera because they said she imitated Mariah Carey too much. After this song came out all the hate ended and she has been respected ever since. She will die a legend because of this song.
This video still makes me emotional to this day. Nearly 20 years later after it was released. And you know what? 20 more years later, if I'm still around, after surviving 2020... I have a good feeling I'm still gonna cry to this video. Thank you for sharing your reaction, Jack. 🙏
omg just when I think Ive seen everything...and here you are hearing Beautiful by Christina for the first time...my mind is BLOWEN I cant get my head around it ... haha
Let’s remember this was in 2002 during a republican president. This was such a powerful movement by xtina, she has always been a ally & has put all these issues in the forefront (risking her career). She was scrutinized and shamed for this video, I’m so happy she didn’t care & pushed this out. She’s so iconic and legendary for this
This song is still so, so, so powerful. Saving lives for years. I had it on repeat in high school. Very nice of you to keep reacting to Xtina, one of the realest out there! Please do some more. Suggestions: You Lost Me, Show me how you Burlesque, Your Body, The Voice Within, Walk Away, Like I Do (feat. Goldlink), Twice.
I’ve been a fan since her GIAB days, rewatching this video on your channel made me tear up and reminded me how big of an impact she made with the Stripped album. This song is timeless!
As a bubblegum pop star in 2002, it was particularly powerful to have this imagery. The main vocals were the first take, and the "don't look at me" was what Christina telling her friend not to look at her during the recording.
One of her most beautiful songs she has ever done. It's one of my favorites by her. Along with her song "Reflection" "Blessed" and "Somebody's Somebody" that you check out by her☺☺
As a friendly reminder my gurl did this when anything on the topic was a "trend" like many Pop stars are using this for their fame gain or anything. Christina made this to be an universal message for all of us who went putting behind in the time of discrimination and not acceptance. Yet she still not receiving enough credit for this.
@IMOGEN RUSSELL I know!! Same happen to me, but it feels like me agaist the world. The good thing is that we have the receipts jajaja. Anyways I hope ppl like Jack found her art and know her legacy.
@IMOGEN RUSSELL That issue about her technique is relative bc they're ppl that claim some artist have a "better" technique. However, the lack of passion and emotion is visible miles away.. Then it comes the issue when you have passion and emotions your voice get to another level. They claim to be professional but remember the BEST such as Aretha, Etta, Patty and the list goes on. I've been a fun of Christina since 1999. This type of situation are not strange to our girl, she knows whats up and she's at peace with it.
She started now Katy Perry Fireworks Lady Gaga Born This Way doing the same thing..... She clearly THE VOICE OF A GENERATION.... Not just because of her vocal ability but how she use her voice for good cause like this
Beautiful and amazing and gorgeous and wonderful masterpiece love the song Beautiful by the one and only Christina Aguilera this song makes me wanna sing along and know the lyrics to the song beautiful Christina Aguilera has a beautiful and wonderful singing voice and her vocals are beautiful and this message really hits me a lot by the way jack am I Beautiful?
Thank you for reacting to it !! I need it to hear this today....as the song says “suddenly, it’s hard to breath” 😔 but it’s is also a good reminder not to let words bring me down ❤️
If you want to react to Christina Aguilera live, you should react to her performances of "It's a man's world", "I loves you Porgy", "Steppin Out With My Baby", "Beautiful" (live at CNN Heroes), or any of her performances of "Maria" (on Tour).
This song and whole Stripped-album has helped me so many times. The imagery of this video was like a decade ahead of its time. The way it displayed gay-couple kiss, transgender person, several body-issues, bullying etc. that wasn't done or talked about in pop music in 2002. She has gained even more respect for this in retrospect.
I got notifications today 😀. This is one of her greatest, if not her greatest songs in my opinion, particularly because it has the potential to resonate with anyone who listens to it. Shout out to you for opening up about your struggles with self image. 💖
Greetings from Guatemala. Love your reactions man, specially the ones to Miss Christina Aguilera. You should react to her Grammy performance to It´s a Man´s Man´s World, a tribute she did to James Brown a few months after he passed. All critics agreed it is her best performance ever and several said she was "possessed" by James´spirit.
Damn 2002, I forgot how good this song was. Thanks for checking it out. I used to hear this on the radio back in the day and had no idea this was Christina singing this.
If I could make a suggestion. I’m generally not a fan of live singing but one of the best vocals I’ve heard live was Christina’s performance at a Grammy tribute to, I believe, Nina Simone. She sang I Love You Porgy. It’s gorgeous and sang in a low register, something I don’t believe she generally does. Thanks
wow this was a very different reaction from you jack i loved it! 😊 i definitely deal with insecurities too and even though I’ve heard this song before, the meaning hit differently because you shared your personal story which made it even more relatable 💓
You should also react to other famous Christina Aguilera ballads like "Say Something", "The Voice Within", "You Lost Me", "Lift Me Up" (especially the live version), and "I Turn to You".
Wow, I'm so happy you could appreciate the meaning behind the song. I remember when it came out it hit me right away. I was dealing with so many stuff and my life and it saved my, like literally. That's why I decided to stan Christina till the day I die ❤️
Christina is good for a turn up too! Listen to one of her newer singles, it's produced by Kanye called "Accelerate". It's like experimental hip hop vibes. 💕
Man, can I just say you are so well spoken and you seem to be really authentic! Love your videos! Sigue con la buena vibra, saludos de Peru 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 btw it’s really nice seeing people from younger generations reacting to music which was created in the early 2000s, thought It was gonna take a bit more but I guess I’m getting older XD greetings!

This song is for everyone because there is a time that we all feel insecure and have to remember that we are BEAUTIFUL😢
I was 12 and I felt very ugly. This song reminds me of my teenage years.
I can relate 😢
That fact that she recorded this in one take. 😭😭😭 That “don’t look at me” was actually what she said in the studio before she started singing and the songs writer and producer Linda Perry kept it in.
I love Linda Perry. She's a vocalist in 4 Non Blondes. I love the song What's Up
Huh, cool story, I didn't know that's where the "don't look at me" came from
I love your reaction. I can feel you really connect with the song like most of us. I just can feel it while watching you. Im glad this kade you happy :)
Yayyyyy a childhood favourite. One of the best voices of the 2000's if not THE best.
One of her best.
And it IS a song pretty much everyone can relate to...and feel.
Good reaction 👏🏽
I sang this song when it was ugly. Only my mother thought I was beautiful. I cried too much with this song. 😭
THIS SONG reeeeeeeeeally helped me
That gay couple kissing alone shook the entire world during that time, she is the only if not one of the few that portrait that image , so it very taboo then, and now you can see many representation of lgbt+ from artists now, so I saluted her to have the bravery to put this out and many more, also to handle all the backlash during that time.
Ano now every doing it

Your best Reaction. You ain’t gotta be a fan of the song or artist, but you gotta respect the vulnerability. Mad respect x
This one hits you every time 😢😢😢
"I'm Okay" is what I would say is her most personal, emotional, and darkest song. It's definitely something worth listening to. It's on the same album as this song. Yeah, but he definitely needs to prepare if he wants to react to "I'm ok"...
Agreed...it´s amazing but like you said, Dark.
He should react to the live performance on Vh1 Storytellers
Awww I loved this. I know you are much younger than me, but I bet you are sooo chill to hang out with!! I had heard this song so much when it first came out that I lost the sentiment that goes along with the song/video, but watching your reaction really made me feel. Have a blessed day!!

Love this woman.
Please react to her Grammy performance - “It’s A Man’s World” James Brown tribute.
It would be nice to see his reaction to it!
Yes I absolutely love that performance and I’m absolutely positive that Jack will love it to.
OMG yes he needs to react to that performance!!!!
absolutely
Totally agree. That's one of my favorite performances of hers.
Aw, jack. I think I have a mom-crush on you. I just want to give you a hug.
This song always gets me in my feels 😭😭😭
She tackled tough topics nearly 20 years ago
Before this song a lot of people for some reason hated Christina Aguilera because they said she imitated Mariah Carey too much. After this song came out all the hate ended and she has been respected ever since. She will die a legend because of this song.

They used her first take for the track, and she was upset, but that raw vocal really made this song.
"Walk Away" Christina
"Loving Me 4 Me" Christina Aguilera
*React to "Impossible" by Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys from the same album, Stripped*

Fun fact, she recorded the song in one session- on the first take. She did it over and over, but agreed the first was the most honest
I’ve been a fan since her GIAB days, rewatching this video on your channel made me tear up and reminded me how big of an impact she made with the Stripped album. This song is timeless!
ditto x

Christina Aguilera- the voice within
One of her most beautiful songs she has ever done. It's one of my favorites by her. Along with her song "Reflection" "Blessed" and "Somebody's Somebody" that you check out by her☺☺
She’s a visionary. Wonderful video and song! #1❤❤❤❤❤
You are beautiful, Jack, in case you're not told that enough :)
We need more meaningful songs like this instead of Ass Money and Drug music popular these days!😔
As a friendly reminder my gurl did this when anything on the topic was a "trend" like many Pop stars are using this for their fame gain or anything. The album version!!!
Thank you for reacting to it !! I need it to hear this today....as the song says “suddenly, it’s hard to breath” 😔 but it’s is also a good reminder not to let words bring me down ❤️
This is such an empowering song. Every time we feel down, we should listen to it to find hope again.

Linda perry said Christina Aguilera recorded this one session raw and beautiful
This was such a big hit for her back in the day! Great video! Bro, you seriously have to hear Mariah's *All I Ever Wanted* 🔥🔥
I've always thought it was an incredible song but I haven't watched the video in a long time. Powerful and emotional stuff.
YOU BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER WHAT!
You need to react to You Lost Me by Christina. It's so emotional. Someone really broke her heart.
