Once as a detective, I had a round were nuclear operatives, a highly dangerous task force of enemy agents sent to steal a disk used to set off a nuke, challenged us to Space Jam basketball. The security team and I faced off against them in a game of basketball for the sake of the station, while the crew built an impromptu stadium for us to play in. We won, despite them using genetic enhancements to cheat, and my shirtless 7 foot tall Russian detective was dubbed MVP. It was glorious.

I once played as a detective, and ended up spending the entire shift solving one mystery revolving around a feud between the roboticist and the janitor. What I discovered after thorough investigation is that the janitor had thrown a plush doll at the roboticist, who then flew into a murderous rage and started building a mech to kill him. I ended up having to call security to help dismantle this mech on the emergency shuttle. Unfortunately, by the time we managed to do that, the roboticist had successfully killed the janitor, so we ended up just deciding to space the roboticist for murder.

Craziest thing that happened to me was a forceful gameshow. Someone kidnapped me and welded me into a locker, dragging me to a room where a few other lockers we're waiting, also filled with kidnappees. The server had something called a mass driver, I believe, and once the gameshow started a wrong answer got you ejected into space. I got second place, actually, but I was not the victor.

One time soon after I had learned how to play roboticist I was providing a medical mech for, well medical. When I delivered it a guy stole it and ran away with it my fellow roboticist saw and helped me exact revenge we spent the rest if the round cybernetically enhancing ourselves then kitting our mechs with ridiculous amounts of weaponry then when the shuttle docked we cornered the guy launching him into a back room and brutally murdered him with our mechs.

In my second round, I was trying to sell colored suits near Engineering (You can do this by wrenching a washing machine in front of the engineering airlock and hacking the door to electrocute dumb engies that do not wear gloves a guy taught me to do this in my first round), until the Captain noticed I wasn't a part of that department and hired me as a barber to work inside his quarters, he gathered all the heads of staff to watch me delicately change his haircut from Bald, to Keanu, to Bald again, to Jensen, to a Bob Cut, and then to Bald again in about 2 and a half minutes where he gave me a medal for giving him a haircut inside the Captain's quarters while all the heads of staff we're at about point blank range from the two of us breathing down my neck and being full of themselves. Then, the Head of Security brought the Mime in and then asked me to give the Mime a haircut because he was going to get convicted for carrying illicit thingies inside the station. So I did. But I kinda lost respect for everyone in the station at the time, I don't know why. I think I attune to the Mimes and Clowns more, you know, some of them are the most misunderstood creatures in the station. So I think I got carried away and harmed the Mime in the process. Because I was just seething with deep hatred I didn't realize I hated the Head of Personnel now, just because I thought he was meandering about killing traitorous scum like the Mime even if we couldn't really valid the Mime. So after a few more tries with my razor, to the joy of the Head of Security, the Mime died by my hands. Surprisingly enough, I didn't get arrested, but I did get beat up by some high tech head of staff stuff before I was tossed out of central hallway. The Chief Medical Officer promptly came out of the captain's office and healed me at Medbay.
I was promptly bwoinked by an Admin of the server, asking me why I killed the mime. I thought I was gonna get banned, because you can't really kill anybody in that game if you're not a traitor. But I kinda forgot if I was one or not, so I just told that it was an accident (the Mime didn't truly die, he was revived by a good medic some time that round). So with the Mime's open traitor PDA I bought a super bright lamp and bludgeoned the traitor Head of Personnel instead as an Internal Affairs Agent and stole the captain's gun and exchanged my bronze medal (the medal the captain gave me) with the medal of captaincy which looks cool and is gold and escaped the station through an escape pod. Death to Nanotrasen.

For a bit of context, Space Station 13 was originally a game made for atmospheric simulations, with a complex gas system included. The code for the game got later leaked and turned into an early stage of what it now is, taking a more fun approach and adding more features. Later on, the code got leaked again and again, with each time having more features and small details. Today the game has various servers, each with their own detailed version of the code, and its revamped atmospherics system. Most servers now feature around 20 to 30 different jobs, each with their own learning curve and complexity, ranging from a simple Janitor, to an Atmospherics Technician or even the Captain of the Station, while having the fun twist that antagonists are, like Traitors, Changelings (The Thing), Vampires, Alien Abductors, Xenomorphs, and the list goes on. It is a truly fun game.

I attempted to create an engine that was perfectly efficient. My last words, due to the wonders of space lag, were "Don't worry I know what I'm doing." I was shortly after, for lack of a better phrase, molecularly disassembled. This sent a massive surge of power into the supermatter crystal, which is very, very bad for its integrity. However, in the setup of my coolant system, I made it so efficient that this breakdown happened over the next 30 minutes, and generated an incredible amount of power. The crystal exploded so unceremoniously the station still had a fully functional power system and power for the rest of the round. It was beautiful, and the only time I heard the sweet sweet sound of the admins going "wtf"

i had joined in the middle of a round and took a look around the station after getting off the shuttle. I knew something was seriously wrong because there wasn't a soul to be found anywhere. I eventually made my way to medical and peered though the window to find bodies upon bodies all over the floor. Then an announcement came up, saying, "THE PURGE WILL COMMENCE IN 3 MINUTES. SURVIVE." I went, "oh shit," and ran into a locker room and barricaded the door with a bunch of lockers. I hid myself inside of one of the lockers and decided that I would wait out the purge. A few minutes later, a furry came into the room and found me in the locker. He told me "it's okwy mistew I won't Huwt you uwu." Obviously, i didnt trust him, but he could buy me time to escape if shit hit the fan, so we waited in the locker room together. All of a sudden, my body started changing, as I had been infected with the furry virus and sprouted ears and a tail and could only talk in uwu lingo for the rest of my life. I said, "I cwave death" and attempted to bludgeon myself to death with a wrench before the furry ran up to me and disarmed me. Some time passed and the purge was over and everything seemed to be back to normal, aside from being a furry now. I headed to the reactor room and given a tour where i was shown the reactor itself. I touched it and instantly died of radiation poisoning.

I particularly enjoy being a botanist. This may sound pretty lame, because who wants to just plant fruits and flowers, but that's because you don't know about advanced GMOs. Basically, every single plant in the game (there are many) has a bunch of stats, as well as chemical makeup and unique traits. For example, tomatos are mostly water, and are squished when they are thrown at something, spilling their component chemicals all over wherever they land.
So, this one round, I started as a botanist with one other dude, and I went over to the chemist to go steal his spare chemical dispenser (a mandatory action as botany). In the mean time, my fellow botanist was hacking the seed dispenser to get it to deposit a few mystery seed packets, which can have random traits that are otherwise inaccessible. When I got back, he revealed to me that one of the mystery seeds was a podling plant! Podling plants, when injected with the blood of an individual, will grow into a podling (plant-man) clone of that person - allowing for cloning without having to go through genetics. Naturally, we did what anyone would do, and proceeded to plant our clones in the hydroponics bay before heading into the backroom and murdering each other with our department-issued woodcutting hatchets so that we could be reborn as superior, leafy greens.
However, my crewmate was not satisfied to merely stand by with extra mystery seeds. So he got to work, gene-splicing various plants, until he created his ultimate organism. He then left botany with said organism, and was several minutes later hunted down and sent to the gulag by a mob of angry station personnel. Who he had transformed against their will into mothmen with genetically engineered exploding berries.
Of course, I would not let this oppression of my fellow brother-in-branches stand, so I immediately began to arm myself. I combined sunflowers and death-nettle to create a prickly toxic plant that, upon grazing someone with it, would deposit enough thermal and neurotoxic chemicals to drop a man in seconds, and filled my pockets with max-strength blue-space bananas, allowing me to teleport anyone (myself included) to any random location within half the station with a single slip. I was ready to start a jailbreak.
Unfortunately, the round ended before I could mobilize, so I went to the escape shuttle instead. I want to say that this was uneventful, but I didn't buckle up when the shuttle departed the station - meaning that I fell over while carrying two of the abovementioned death-plants. My backpack was also filled with these plants. This sudden collision with the ground caused my poor podling to violently explode. The ground didn't fare much better, as it also ceased to exist, depressurizing the entire cabin.

Brings back memories of one of my favourite rounds on Goon. I decided to be a bot named "Wheatley" since the station AI decided to name themselves GLaDoS on what turned out to be a nuke round. Flash forward a bit to where the nukies actually do their job. I pretended to just "fix the area" that the nukies set up the bomb in which was helpful enough to the nukies and they didn't worry since the AI laws meant I couldn't actually do anything to them. They get distracted by a frontal assault and leave me alone with the bomb. I unscrew it and push it through a wall I was "repairing" before taking it off of the station and into "space" where the explosion wouldn't nuke the station. Cue confusion from both nukies and crew when the fight gets pushed back to where the bomb should be. I attempted to figure out how to actually defuse it, but it blew up with my final transmission being "don't worry, I got it". I was the only nuke casualty. Wheatley the hero bot. Ever since I continued to use Wheatley as my bot name.

My favorite memory of SS13 is the time I finally got the traitor role. I was playing a Chemist named Jeff Silverbloom, and I had a wonderful idea as to how a chemist should take lives. After fiddling with regular smoke bombs, the math on chemical ratios, and a glass shortage that stalled chemical production, I filled a large chemical grenade casing with a two-chamber concoction that, when detonated, would fill a room with incredibly acidic smoke, and could be very lethal if the target was not wearing proper safety equipment like us Chemists had. I planned to use it when I got the chance, to kill the head of Security.
Unfortunately, I fat fingered the grenade's pin 20 minutes later, and in a panic, chucked it at my workstation in the corner of the room and yelled for my fellow chemist (who I had been establishing a friendship with for the past 30 or so minutes) to run. Fortunately, he escaped with only mild chemical burns, whereas I was severely injured and almost killed.
Now, because I threw a grenade in broad view of my peers, Security arrested me after I recovered for suspicion of being either a Traitor or attempted murder. They immediately found on my person the device that I had used to hack my own Chemical dispenser, so that I could easily manufacture lethal doses of Mindbreaker toxin if need be.
As Security debated which method of execution they would enjoy most, I scrambled to get a story together. I pleaded with the Head of Sec, who was advocating for a good old fashioned firing squad, to listen to me. I told him that I never meant to hurt my friend, that the Syndicate had my family in custody, and that if I didn't do what they told me to do or die trying, that they'd kill my family. Security showed a rare moment of compassion, and my saving grace crackled over the HoS' radio. Science had just finished researching how to take a person's brain and use it to make a robot. I offered to be their first test, to free myself from the shackles of the Syndicate.
One surgery and an out of body experience later, I was the first non AI robot on the station. I thanked the Sec and the Science department for giving me a new start at life.
The best part, though, was when I was cleaning up around the Science department as a robot, when my chemist buddy (the one that ate toxic smoke along with me) showed up. I stopped him, told him my old name (your character's name changes when you get borged), and tearfully apologized for what I did. I explained what had happened, and why, and I begged for his forgiveness. He knelt down, and said that he forgived me, because we were still friends. I'll always remember how much fun I had roleplaying as a repentant Syndicate member in the body of a robot, that one round. I'd like to think Jeff Silverbloom found peace in that moment, in the forgiveness of his only friend.
Or, if not, then he certainly found peace when the emergency shuttle was torn to pieces by multiple explosives while 90% of the server was inside, including him. I might never play SS13 ever again, but that experience will never leave me.

Once as a Clown, I hid in a locker for 1 1/2 hours in real time, in the back of Medical after sneaking in during an emergency, and sat there with some junk on the ground in front of the locker, concealing a banana peel. I sat there waiting, for an hour and a half mind you, as shit went south on the station and I was listening to it all go down via the radio. Someone created a pressure bomb and blew out Departures, half the station was depressurised and Engineering was attempting to fix enough shit to evacuate the station. People were injured, people were dying. Head of Medical came around to get something, don't remember what, when he had to come into my trap. He crossed the pile of junk, now barely visible in the dark, and slipped. I sprung into action, popping out of the locker, grabbing him, slapping him in the locker, and welding it shut. Taking advantage of the situation going on in the station, no one else really questioned why the Clown was dragging a screaming locker until I threw it into space while HOM shouted over radio he was being stolen by a gay clown.

Everyone else had retreated to the ship, I'd stayed behind to slow the aliens down. I had the entire platoon's worth of landmines and sentry guns on my side against a hive of xenomorphs. It took them around 20 minutes and a dead Ravager to finally break through, during which it was nonstop fighting the entire time to stop them from creeping up on the defenses. There were just so many of them that I couldn't keep up with repairs, and once one turret ran out of ammo, it was game over. One game of ss13 I had turned into a action movie halfway through. I was playing detective and after about half the shift this person comes up to me wanting to speak to me in my office. They then told me that they where a syndicate (bad guys). Syndicate’s spawn with creating objectives for instance kill the captain or escape alive. But this persons objective was to kill a spy in security’s ranks but that spy’s objective was to kill him. Plus their secondary objective was to make sure I survive and get on the escape shuttle at the end of the round. So after a while of looking for the “bad” spy the escape shuttle comes and in a last act of desperation my spy friend gets on a chair and loudly screams “here I am come and get me”. Then the bad spy comes out of no where and tries to shoot him but missed. We then chase them eventually cornering that and shooting them multiple times until they finally died. At about the time of their death the escape shuttle had got to safety and the round ended. Needless to say that is one of my favorite ss13 rounds I’ve ever played.

On the SS13 server I used to play on, (I stopped playing the game months ago), has a 'Telecom' system. Which is a room, where you put in Cordinates, and can teleport objects and people into the room, or from the room to those cordinates. Using that, and bolting the doors to the room so they can't get out without tools, I fucked with so many people. From trapping them and then teleporting them somewhere else, to trapping the antags, to teleporting explosives into different locations when I was the Antag. It was very fun fucking with people through the power or teleportation.

On one of my earlier days on Eris Station, I was scrounging around in the maintenance tunnels looking for useful junk to repurpose back at the R&D lab. What I found was another crewmember getting attacked by mutant cockroaches. I helped him fend them off, and as thanks, he offered to show me where some of the good stuff was hidden.
The next thing I knew, he had his hands around my neck. My attempts to resist were futile, and I slowly drifted off into unconsciousness.
Turns out he was a changeling who wanted to steal my DNA. He put on my clothes, stole my ID card, and took everything I had salvaged... straight over to R&D. He spent the rest of the round pretending to be me, and nobody noticed.

space station 13 is long story short a really old game, made around 2004 which eventually got the source open to public and the commmunity started to expand of what they can do in the game, each server has it's own rules and it's own play style. generally the old players of space station 13 hated the new influx of player base that came because of sseth's and madalore video of this game lol.
i tried playing this game for at least a week, and it's pretty damn difficult to learn, everything is manual. like placing an object to your other hand, i had fun playing as janitor tho

Favorite story as the Clown is probably when the bored Captain decided to promote me to "Head of Clowns". I spent the early part of the round opening more clown job positions (which allows people joining the round late to join up as clowns past the first one). As clowns began to flood the station, tensions between the crew and the clowns were at an all time high. In a confrontation in medbay, I was struck down and beaten by the Head of Security, fed up after being slipped one too many times. My surrounding clown brethren then went to arms and fought back, sparking a clown race riot. After the blood bath in medbay and the loss of the great Head of Clowns, the corporate goons at NanoTrasen Central Command decided to send an emergency response team to the station in an attempt to quell the murderous riots against the clowns.

One of my games we had a revolution because people kept declaring themselves as the leaders of the station until someone got hold of a mech armor and started murdering everyone on sight. Eventually that person got lured into cargo where some hero managed to stun him, forcing it out of the mech, then bashed him into unconsciousness. Then, he would take him to a nearby table and replace his heart with a bag of rice.
    It was amazing.

Started playing like 10 years ago when a friend told me about it.
I know my way around but I still haven't played more than half of the roles.
My best experience was super early when I barely knew how to play, the warden was killed in some crazy twist of fate/calculated murder by the unknown, I'm an assistant and the first person to find dead warden. So I took his Id and opened the armory and drug him in
Looted him and became the warden, and hid all the evidence of my self and his corpse in a box locked it and tucked it away in the armory.
Everything was fine until anyone came to talk to me because your voice is a giveaway if you are in disguise so I can't speak, but you can gesture and it won't out me. So I go about wardening and pointing at things when people ask me questions and it works out until we need to get into the armory cuz of aliens or who knows what. I let the officers in ans we all suit up
Guns all round and wouldn't you know the head of security (HOS) really wants one of the shotguns out of that box over there in the back of the room. FUCK .
I open it and as the warden pull my own corpse out of the box and the charade is up. I was immediately beaten and stripped of all my cool stuff. And I was falsely permabrigged for killing the warden. Until the real killer blew up the rest of sec and I crawled away gasping for air to the emergency shuttle and at the end of the hall who do I see but the HOS. And the fucker shoots me to death thinking I blew up security somehow. Fair is fair tho.
but I was a good warden

I actually knew of Space Station 13 a long while back, but never played it.
I did play a couple other games on the same engine. Mitadaki High and Peirce High. Basically a murder mystery roleplay game, where one player is the killer and the rest are survivors. My favorite rounds were the ones where the murderer died early on, but everyone still suspected each other, and it broke down into a factional civil war between what (were) innocent survivors.

Janitor is simple and still be able to enjoy the action, perfect for a new guy like me. Other roles usually stay in one place but because the janitor is always roaming about, sometimes you'll stumble into some interesting things.
I was going around cleaning the place when i decided to go to medbay because that's where the most blood will be at. And then i was stuck there for the entire round cleaning and defending the place from killer robots, holy buttcrabs and reanimated body parts. I roleplayed as a janitor who is "heroically' protecting medbay, not because of morality and saving lives, it's because he doesn't want any more mess. Where was security? Who the fuck knows, i was just me with my mop and a few doctors fending for our lives. If i was lets say a botanist, i would have never known medbay was under attacked, i would've remained in botany and made weed all day, if i knew how.

I have been playing the game for 2 weeks now and got competent at 2 jobs so far (competent does not mean I am good, just that I can perform the basic function and know a trick or two) and it is great fun, the crazy stuff he is describing is not as common as the review will let you believe unless you look for very specific stations. Moderation is also very strict on several servers to prevent individuals from ruining the round for everyone else, but you can read all the rules before playing on the server and decide if it is for you or not. If you want to jump in and learn I recommend bee or goon station, they moderate with an iron fist and very low tolerance so you get a relatively save enviroment to learn in (more so on the goon RP servers than the goon regular ones, there you will run into invisible meat grinders someone set up in the corridors.. )
Once you feel comfortable check out other servers and cry in desperation when you realize that different source code was used leading to different controles. :D
It is a great game, but pretty much all serves want people who actually wish to play the game and not just mindlessly grief.

We were winning the fight, but they manadged to stall us with magic wall's, time stop spells and wormhole jaunters long enough for summoning to be successfull. He kept demanding a trial and just for shits and giggles we decided to do it even though it was blatantly obvious he was guilty. What followed was one of the most hilarious things I've ever been part of. The clown volunteered to be the judge, the Head of Security and Detective were the prosecutors, I was the bailiff, and the guy had recruited the janitor to be his lawyer. We ended up drawing a whole crowd to spectate.

Noone said anything about what was going on, all i knew was that there was a hole into space in the north-east section of the station. I moved over there and saw that a ship crashed into our station. I begin repairing and looking for any other breaches, all the while other people from the station were rushing the pod. A syndie was in there and apparently kidnapped some of my engineer. As i was looking around they walked up to me and began pointing a gun at me. They said something like "You're my hostage now" and i replied with "No." i pushed them over, tried and failed to take their gun and ran off with some new holes in me. During the rest of the round it was just me a sec running around trying to kill the syndie. eventually we found it killed them. it was a pretty fun round.

He whispered into my ear, "I can't make you any bigger now, if you want to grow more go and see the geneticist and ask for giantism".
This led to me and a group of other apes who wanted to see me grow more banging on the door of genetics shouting for giantism. Eventually, a geneticist injected me with genes to make me irradiated, sealing my fate. But a kindly geneticist gave me giantism and I grew to prodigious size before the radiation sickness set in.
I spent a while causing havoc in the chemistry department and amazing other station dwellers with my huge size before falling unconscious due to radiation poisoning. The crowd dragged me into medical unaware of what was eating me from inside.
