Hitting squat WR and still being able to call it "a bad day". Jesus is a monster.
I mean, he did mess up everything else than the squat
yeah it is a bad day when you take massive amount of roids and risk your health and it is all for nothing.
@@geraldfisher6475 The amount of people who actually believe he’s natty is baffling
@geraldfisher6475 wdym all for nothing its a wr
Misses 4 lifts and still hits 1113kg total, shit's crazy. Then he's 11th place with a 1113kg total, insane.
Regarding the position, the way Sheffield is set up, your score is a %age of the world record. 1113 was obviously the heaviest absolute total that day
@@gabrielfahey4592, yeah, but he was the only one 120+
He’s no better than 11th place. This guy is overrated because he looks funny let’s all be honest
he is the strongest in the world tho lol lift wise. lb for lb perhaps not but im sure he will be. Have to beat that perkins guy for that title@@Greentree57
@@Greentree57he still has the heaviest total.
There’s no way this dude walked on water
he would sink into water
Doesn't have to. He lifts all the water instead.

49 kg jump on deadlift to try to get the win dude’s a baller
What a bummer. Still very young, he forgot to wait for the rack command in bench, and had to make a monster jump in DL. Best of luck to him. Hope he can stay injury free.
His bench mis grooved on 2nd. Went up fine on 3rd but he re racked too fast. !st dead screwed him up so he had to retake. 3rd dead was for all or nothing. The weight was fine and achievable. He just made some critical mistakes.
So unfortanate, would probsbly take the WR total easly with The bench and deadlift.
The bench was definitely doable, I saw the misgroove as it happened. Not surprised he smoked it on the 3rd. Deadlift seems to be his problem area because he’s so massive. Lock out is tough for him because of his size. Grip was also an issue on top of that during 1st attempt but that’s how it goes with 800+ lbs.
Yeah for sure the grip was an issue. Little mistakes cost him his prize
Incredible squat!! We done Jesus you deserve it 💪
That monster of a squat wiped him out.
I think this proves how your worst enemy is often yourself. Jesus has (twice now) solidified himself as one of the GOATS but he wasn't able to handle all the pressure he put on himself. He had more than enough strength but in the end his nerves just got the best of him
He’s young he’s got time to mature into one of the goats
It's now nerves it's tested prep
Man squatted 478Kg and made 275 bench look like a speed rep on 3rd.
@@e.c.9468 that's my point. Strength wasn't the problem
just not his day. imagine your cns after squatting 1000lbs+ twice under a few minutes is crazy lol. drains u no matter how strong u are. can see that in his deadlift. that weight has been easy for him. so maybe it is a recovery issue or shocking of cns . idk
This really goes to show that you need to also be a great competitor, not only strong. But I'm sure he and Joey will learn from this and become better. It'll re-light the fire even brighter
He would not be where he is if he wasn’t a great competitor. Everyone has a bad day
@@Rickndanger84 his training looks much better on IG. That is what i am mainly referring to
8:44 'i've seen him smoke 420 in training'
haha nice catch
And that's 11th place. So insane. What an absolute unit
He is extraordinarily strong 💪
Man really a shame on the bench and deadlift, definitely bad attempt numbers. What a waste going for 380 twice, there was no doubt 380 was flying, should have used 2nd attempt for something like 400-410 instead of going up almost 50kg from attempt 2-3. And just an unfortunate moment for the early rack on bench, he's prob kicking himself for that one
I think he wanted to make sure he got a successful lift so his squat wr stands
Wait why does his squat wr get erased if he doesn't get a deadlift in?@@Gamingkeyboard123
Wait why does his squat wr get erased if he doesn't get a successful deadlift in ?@@Gamingkeyboard123
I was so stressed when I saw that he is going for 429 in DL haha. he should have gone for 411 to get one more WR
Last deadlift could win him the comp and set a new wr
He probably was very demotivated after "failing" the bench. I'm not surprised the deadlifts were a disaster lol
What is that supposed to mean
He lost his 275kg bench to a minor mistake and thus lost 20kg off his total already. After that he was probably disappointed and couldn't muster the will to perform well on deadlift anymore.
His brother is huge.
I think the WR Squat Fried his CNS.
yup

Esse homem é bruto, se tá doido!!!!!!
Jesus Christ that was awesome!

8:06 what a steal dude, the bench was perfect
from my understanding he touched rack too early, but i dont know strict rules
@@ukaszazr4120 AFAIK, they tell you when to drop, push, rack. If you miss any of the ques, red light. Dont know for sure though.
He racked it before they told him to.
had a bad day that day, still got the squat WR though, next few years will be crazy for this guy
That bench rack rule must be the stupidest I have seen in sports. 275Kg defo looked like a speed repe
Why? You're supposed to show you're in control of the weight throughout the whole lift.
Bravo
MUCHO PODER UN GRAN GANADOR 💙🤍💙 SALUDOS 💪
It was technicalities not power because this man is beyond incredible,,, I see him coming back and destroying this meet next year
With the exception of the last deadlift, strength is 100% there for all the lifts he missed. That’s what makes competing so difficult it all has to be perfect on the day. Regardless he now has the WR for squat but knowing him he’s still beating himself up. He can and will come back stronger and crush his numbers next time
Can someone explain how it was even possible that one judge gave an X on the WR lift? The depth was objectively great - no debate.
Just had no fckin limits. Woozie just imagine how far he can go if we ain't miss a single lift next time.
İts joy for Cenk kocak in turkey
3:25 you can see the spotter praying for his life lmao
4:35 what on earth was the judge that redlighted this squat thinking???? It was deeper than his opener!
Dude is bad ass
I strongly believe that one x on the WR rep was salty cuz of how deep you went good Lord, bless it 😂
It’s wild the gap in squat strength vs deadlift
i like that he has a dedicated airpods remover
holy fuck that 425 flew. wtf
crazy
i have never watched almost 12 minutes video with wide open eyes whole time i was surprised and in shock thats insane lifts holyyy molyyy and how he was 11th place like did 1st place winner lifted 2 tons?
This competition is based on the percentage of the world records for each respective weight class 🙌🏼 This total was definitely the biggest of the day!
Thx for the new information@@powerlifting-world
I hate it when these media ppl always say guy is the strongest man that ever lived.
Dude is soo frickin massive

Over a thousand pounds !!!
Who was picking his attempts?
His handler didn't make him miss the rack command. Not his day today
@@SinnedNogaraYeah, it happens. You don’t want it to happen at your biggest meet of the year but it is what it is. Keep working on it 🤷🏻♂️
Como es posible que tenga mas sentadilla que peso muerto, es una bestia
not going 9/9 fucks you up so much as soon as you miss that one lift you feel like you gotta start chasing
Jesus is an amazing athlete, absolute freakish strength
On a good day he would have done 478+275+420=1173 kg!
He's good for 475/285/420 on a perfect day. Which would be an 1180Kg Total. Crazy.
Jesus...
If he got 11th place, who the hell got first?
Could have been first but I don’t know who made the decisions on his bench and deadlifts attempts. He hit the crazy’s squat should have played it smart and safe in my opinion on the other lifts.
He would've had to beat his 1152.5kg total to get 1st.
What about the decisions for his attempts? On bench he missed the rack command and he missed his first deadlift due to balance wich forced him to do weird jumps. So its just a bad day wich can happen to anybody
@@Robin24204 that shit true it happens ,but he could have hit all those numbers.
His attempts were fine. Don’t think for a second Jesus didn’t have a say so in his own attempts, he’s a smart lifter and is a vet at this. 🤷🏻♂️ some minor errors occurred and unfortunately at a meet like this one miss and you’re essentially fucked if you’re going for the meet win or anything else.
@@ghostlx3374 yes for sure, he basically hit his bench but sadly just missed the rack command and he has hit a 426kg deadlift in training so 429kg wasn't an unrealistic weight
He did amazing but the audience was his distraction
Well done big man
Me gustaría conocer un fortachon 💪💪
CNS tapped out I think. what a machine.
Rerack error on third bench and so had to shoot deadlift to quick for his third
if his CNS tapped out he would be dead

SBD Sheffield Championship
I benched 255 yesterday … lbs 😔
🇧🇷👊Champions BITELO on Brazil🇧🇷
I find it so interesting, how much lower his Dead Lift is than his squat that’s gotta be pretty rare at this level
It happens with superheavyweights cause they're so big the grip gets harder and harder as the bar is more out front.
And your grip strengh is more limitated that your back or leg potential.
Voi Jeesus! Ja vieläpä pelekällä kaurapuurolla ja runssaalla voesilimällä!
I'm surprised they didn't use a squat rack with the catch straps
That bench rack was def muscle memory from training, good thing is strength isnt an issue.
I think the record squat took a lot out of him, normally he doesn’t miss on his attempts leading up to his 3rd lift.
5500 kg 👍👍
1113кг это его вес?
The squat wr by ray williams is 490 not 477
No Ray didn’t do that. You’re wrong. You never know what you’re talking about.
for it to be an international record it has to be done in an international competition 🙌🏼
His 490kg was a national record.
So this is how he carried that cross

Can anyone explain the one red light on his 478? 🤔
He reracked too early

What's the squat record that he broke? Isn't Ray's record 490 kg?
Rays is USAPL.
This is IPF

why he didnt do just 411 kgs on deadlift instead of 19 kgs over the record
because he failed his bench he needed it to win i tjink
If he pulled 429kg he would've won the competition so he went all out
ok tnx man @@Konalo
a factor could have been that getting the 429 would give him a WR plus first place, that last DL was worth about $38k... not saying the money was the decisive factor though: pride to win the SHF a second time probably played the biggest part

@@eligenovese783 Yeah ofcourse unfortunately impossible one of the bad realities about growing older
anyone knows why there was no -59 ?
the legibility criteria for qualifying for the event wasn't met unfortunately!
There wasn't a 59kg lifter that totaled 95% of the total world record at the 2023 world championships. Sergey Fedosienko would've been a solid competitor at Sheffield if only his country (Russia) was allowed to compete
@@Konalothe issue is not really related to his country (he could probably compete under neutral flag otherwise, should he accept it of course). It’s that Fedosienko served a suspension for doping in 2005, and Sheffield requires athletes to never have had a doping violation. This was already discussed back in 2020 for the first Sheffield, that was later cancelled due to Covid.
Also to be fair, in order to be aligned with the rules of eligibility regarding doping violations, I think Fedosienko’s records should not count towards %WR eligibility either. That would allow some of the current best 59kgs to be eligible.
alright :( thanks tho
My man lifted 1 more lb. So the same weight 😅
did refs want Jesus to sleep with that weight while benching? Powerlfiting rules are so interesting
Why is this the world record over Ray’s 490kg on March 2, 2019 in USAPL?
Different federations with different rules
Ray’s was done at a USAPL meet, this is an IPF meet.
@@sbdftw1702 sort of makes sense but wasn’t USAPL partnered with IPF when the squat was done? Seems weird to remove lifts from their records that were done while they were affiliated.
@@collybob3351 They may be partnered but that still doesn’t mean the lift accounts for both federations. It’s like saying you hold a USPA record and it also counting for IPL. They’re still their own separate federations.
@@collybob3351 I agree it’s weird though. It makes sense if you compete and understand how it works but to the random guy who doesn’t lift, they wouldn’t understand how records go in the sport.

@4:20 - I'll always be the judge giving no rep for depth. Alas, with Olivares....you can 99.9% rely on him going deep on his squats.
体重やばいとはいえ異次元すぎてやばい!笑
I could see from a mile away that that 429 is not going up, even the 380 wasn't easy , maybe he could have got 415 this day but nothing more
So he squatted to parallel, interesting.
jesus squat 478kg, what's your excuse?
rack rule is super dumb
No it is not. It shows you have control of the weight and tells the judge you have finished the lift
heyzuz?
Quin can't beat this man 💀
if anatoly went around like this
why doesnt Ray Williams squat of 490kg count as a world record?
They're talking about the record for in a full meet. Ray's 490 kg squat was squat only.
it wasn't an international competition.
@@CoachArian its been so long so i only remember the lift, wasnt it done at the arnolds in columbus Ohio? im not trying to argue just curious to why that didnt have the same status as a international comp?
@@olanordmann-ny5gn Yes, it was one of the 2019 Arnold events and advertised as an international competition where world records could be broken by USAPL. Then after the competition happened, the IPF said it's not accepting the records as it's not a recognized international competition. USAPL tried to appeal it and take it to court but lost so the world records weren't accepted. One of my athletes actually pulled a world record deadlift at the event that then wasn't accepted and only became a national record.
@@CoachArian thanks for the answer. IPF seems to be going a bit too far, im a norwegian and just saw a discussion here about some of the rules. sorry about your athlete that must feel so awful to have happen.
I think he made a mistake in his second and third Deadlift attempt. If he ignored the fact of the 1st one being a bad lift and go for 400 in his second, he would probably lift it with ease and be less desperate in his last attempt
This is why I would never compete the rules are so stupid.
is this a natty competition?
