- Nothing seems to bother Florida State. Distractions off the field, deficits on the field, nothing has derailed the Seminoles for 26 games and counting. And after yet another comeback, the defending national champions are squarely in the mix for another title.
Dalvin Cook ran for two scores, including the go-ahead touchdown with 3:05 remaining, and the third-ranked Seminoles rallied to beat Miami 30-26 on Saturday night for their fifth straight win over their archrival and the fifth straight time they have won on Hurricane turf.

So many of my older college football memories involves watching 2013-2014 Florida state. Good days

I was in 8th and 9th grade during these and it seemed like Florida state was on abc every other week. Took it for granted then. College footballs better when the Florida teams are on

Awww the good ole days, and i use to complain about the defense back then ill love to have Kelly now over Fuller
Fuller’s biggest problem is that he’s had to play a more conservative scheme than he’d prefer due to talent deficiencies. We haven’t had the DT depth to consistently get pressure (or even stop the run) with just the front-four when the starters rotated out. We haven’t had the linebackers to play a 4-3 and we haven’t had the DBs to play straight man or run creative zone schemes. We couldn’t put blitz personnel on the field (like Gainer) because we couldn’t lose the help granted from the second safety. Much of that will be different this year.
I think you’ll be far more pleased with Fuller this year with a front-four that gets home regularly and a lock-down corner that allows us to get more creative in the defensive backfield.
Fuller doing better, now we run a 4-2-5 because of so much spread in college, and your right the lb play had been lacking, but its better now. I wish we could run a little nore cover 3 zone so we can get some zone blitzes for confusion, but we man up pretty good and they should get better with Patrick coaching dbs

Yeah, I have no problem with using a 4-2-5 base to counter the spread… but it’s easier to disguise pressures out of a 4-3-4. I’m not suggesting we change the base, but in theory, being able to play 4-3 on third and medium would be a helpful add-in. That being said, given our depth and level of talent at DT, I actually think we see some 5-2-4 when we want to dial up pressure… maybe even some crazy off-the-wall stuff like a 5-1-5 or even a five man front with dime behind it (no LBs) on third a long. This year should be fun.
