My sax teacher always told me "downwards air". Channeling the air up the roof of your mouth and down into the mouthpiece seems to help with a classical sound. Also, lots of support
THANKS for posting this. Your performance is beautiful. My student is currently selecting a solo for this year. This recording helps make that choice. THANK YOU
The airiness could be caused by not supporting enough - you have to push strong air all the time, no matter the dynamic. However, don't let this cause you to tense up, your neck and throat should be completely relaxed. In terms of puffing your cheeks, focus on pulling all the muscles in your face towards the mouthpiece, and keeping them really solid. If your cheeks get tired too quickly, you can "exercise" them by tightening your cheeks and blowing air through whenever you can. Hope that helps
Beautiful and expressive. Might use alternate fingerings for B to C instead of flipping fingers...otherwise really not much to critic. Will use your RUclips video as a reference for my students to listen to and imitate. Good job!
Sounds beautiful!!! i am playing now and this has really helped me improve and move forward!!! what mouthpiece and reed are you using? just wondering !!
Hi, I know you posted this many years ago, but I am in the process of choosing pieces and would like to know which sonata this is. Which key and code e.g. C minor TW41:A3
I know this is really late but just in the slight chance that you're still wondering 😅 It doesn't have one. Just search up "Sonate pour Saxophone soprano et Piano - Telemann"
Buyo Ad Libitum Theres movements. It is still the same song. Movement 1 the Siciliana, Moveement 2 Spirituoso, Movement 3 (I forgot), and Movement 4 the Vivace. I played all of these movements for a solo contest (classical of course). Started with 3 and 4. And later 1 and 2.
@@anminhvuong5846 The third movement is the beautiful Andante! That sounds really cool though. I think the third movement may be my favourite movement but all 4 are very beautiful and all have that typical Telemann ornamentation and articulation. Very beautiful!
Wow! Beautiful tone. Sounds like a Baroque trumpet playing.
