      I did indeed, thank you very much! I think watching it now as some people have commented on here, feels quite timely. The importance of connection has never felt so prevalent. I know I can speak for myself on that one :-)

      @@AliKhundmiri The inspiration was wanting to make the kind of allegorical sci-fi that we love as audience members - films that make you think but also entertain and can touch, move and inspire you. This film asks the questions- “Is survival really survival if you are all alone? Is life worth living without human interaction? Are you really alive if you are completely alone?”

    • @Ela.elizabeth
      @Ela.elizabeth 3 года назад +18

      I think it's not that there's NO food. After all, she made it this long. I think it's that her loneliness and lack of something to live for had become so unbearable that it stripped away her will to keep fighting for life itself, diminishing her hope, so that the long, gruelling search for food had just become too much for her to bear. Expecially in the face of the life all that struggle and hardship bought her.
      When she was crawling to the door, it's because she was sick from eating that one plant, not from starvation. She still looks pretty healthy. In her moment of weakness and hopelessness after being so sick and so hungry, she broke down and confessed that she thinks she'll let herself die. Or maybe even that she had gotten so hopeless that she felt death was inevitable, and that the dead world had defeated her.
      Once she finds out that she does indeed have a reason to live, has found someone with which to make a life and who sparks hope in her, all of the hopelessness and despair that had brought her close to giving up disappears. She leaves the area she had obviously been sticking to, the relative safety it brought her - even if that safety was at the cost of nearby food - and steps into the unknown to find love.
      Now there are two of them to explore, find food, share resources. That teamwork, along with finally escaping the loneliness, solitude & hopelessness she had become trapped in, will allow them to not only to survive, but to really live, together.
      That's what I got from it, anyway! A lovely story and a poignant allegory for life, as well.

    There is a feeling that I cannot explain. It lives at the brink of day, as the first glint of sunlight touches the dark horizon. It plays in the golden haze of summer dusk, and along the edge of a deserted winter beach. It's the smell after a hard rain, a rose just before it opens. A moment when time can break from all reality, and where your heart slips free from any worry. A dream where everything is new, and worth remembering.

    As someone who works on short films, I gotta wade through a TON of stuff that simply isn't worth watching. Sort of like Simon on America's got talent.
    Short films, like any form of entertainment, be it a short story or a full length movie, NEED a beginning, a middle, and an end, and the combination must make sense, as in follow the rules set up by the beginning, otherwise the audience feels gyped.
    This film does that beautifully.
    Nice job.

      Yep, when it went from PG rating to R rating I was thinking about the suit and whether it was liquid proof and whether there was a laundry service nearby. And how'd the headset work with the kissing? If the hut had electricity it must have a fridge somewhere, and maybe a washing machine, microwave?
