According to what I read in his book, when the Horde took Stormwind, Varian met Arthas and went to King Terenas' city as a refugee. They train together there for a short time. I actually wish someone would remake warcraft 1 and 2 in a more modern engine (like Starcraft Mass Recall is starcraft 1 in the starcraft 2 engine). there were so many amazing spells and weird units in this game I would love to see in 3D.

My brother thought orc warlocks are Santa Claus because they wear red cloak. Warcraft 1 has the best version of slime. Warcraft 1 gives me lots of fantasy inspiration all those years ago.
Human Archers and Invisibility are the two greatest threats the player will face in the Orc Campaign. Archers have more range than Spearmen (but less damage; the range is FAR more important). As for Invisibility... the AI is just _obnoxious_ with it. They will march their units right past your army with it, and start murdering all your peons. The _only_ way to prevent this is to physically block all access to your town with bodies.

You know the saddest and most horrible thing is that the first 3 games are pre-destined to happen. The Bronze dragon flight makes sure that no timeline divergences happen, mostly by either offing people that should pass away when convenient. This is all to make sure that Azeroth can withstand the Scourge and the Legion when they arrive, so all the deaths of many dragons, humans, elves, dwarfs, Orcs and so much more happened because of the Bronze dragon flight and their mission
I wish that was the only problem. No attack move, rally or train sequence in the game. The AI also automatically attacks your workers first. It was a nightmare.
Ability to select up to 12 units at the same time and not needing to constantly activate move command (it had hotkey though I remember, maybe incorrectly) instead of just right clicking is a welcome quality of life improvement. Still I struggle to trust Blizzard. Even was hearing about the "tall pixel" philosophy that was used in original art style that they didn't accounted for here. (in short: game, especially it's interface was designed with concept that it would be stretched upwards by at the time used monitors)
Do you still have to build a path first before creating buildings? And do you still have to select move then the unit to move it? Cause those are the actual important changes
Not really. The engine is far worse than StarCraft 1. I wish they remade the campaign in Warcraft 3 instead. But anyway we still have the LoreCraft team handling it.
I guess the best game to make WC1 mod in would be the renewed Spellforce 3, in terms of graphics and art style. But also why not try to do a custom campaign in Starcraft 2 similar to already existing WC3 in SC2 campaigns.

I commend you for this. I tried playing War1, but having to use that road system when building my base just felt too restricting.
