Man, what a journey. I believe this was the hardest campaign I have played which was made by Blizzard or perhaps an equivalent to Starcraft's Enslavers. Especially the difficulty gets really hellish in Beyond the Dark Portal campaigns. It was hard probably because the controls and the pathfinding were worse than Starcraft 1. However I enjoyed all the units, as well as the story. As far as I see, the Warcraft we know has been crafted here for the most part. It has a lot of stuff going on. A lot of new characters, races and clans & kingdoms were added after the first game. I wish Blizzard made a remake of this game in Warcraft 3 instead of remastering it. But I can't trust them anymore after all those f ups. But overall, I enjoyed the game, except those AI upscaled cinematics. It would be fire if they could remake them instead.
With the cinematics the problem is they probably lost the masters decades ago or the masters were have only been rendered at 480x320 (or worse) due to being pure CGI so they'd be force to upscale or reverse engineer the originals from scratch. No clue if they'd even have had the assets saved anywhere. And if they tried a 1:1 remake of the videos they'd just look really off either way. The problem of having stuff build in an era were 800x640 was a 'luxury' resolution for DOS programs. But the limited amount of cinematics meant they wouldn't have had to compress it as much as some other contemporaries which had more cinematics so it'd upscale better at least.
Thoughts: 1. The Orcs could have achieved nothing without the Trolls. Troll shipyards, knowledge of oil/oil platforms, Troll Lumber Mills. 2.Consider that only a few Trolls must have headed through to Draenor, given Azeroth is their home. Yet all the Orcs are now using them in Beyond. Think about that in terms of breeding rate. No half-Trolls, either.
The remastered changed Human Expansion campaign by making Dark portal only take damage from Khadgar. Any unit used to work in OG War2X. It made the mission a breeze as you just aggro the dark portal after repelling the first wave.
Honestly it makes it just feels more aligned with the ending cinematic. Else you could do the time honored tradition of... hiding the Hero in your base so the hero doesn't get killed
I think you are misremembering things. I remember the loooong task of destroying the portal with Khadgar while all my forces had to protect him for however minutes the task took.
what always killed me in this wonderful game is that the stats are the same for the 2 races, i always went down in the editor and made the orcs diferent or the humans cheaper and weaker
Yeah, Warcraft 2 Remastered fares better than Warcraft 1 in both the visual department, and the gameplay (I believe they increased the number of selectable units from 9 to 12). The game itself aged quite well too. They didn't need to make it have always online DRM, but it seems unavoidable with Blizzard nowadays...
Tides of Darkness WC3R fanmade campaign is miles ahead of this remaster, even though it's yet to have its human counterpart. 😂 Not everything needs direct remaster.
Full playthrough is 30 hours long. Are you seriously willing to waste a lot of hours watching me getting all the upgrades and defending my base against the same attack waves for at least 10 times in each mission?
@@ExecutorNral Yesterday I watched full orc campaign on STU channel. It took him 1h35m without any skips. For the human campaign he started skipping intros :(
@@tyfyh622 Well he spedrun the campaign then. I don't do that kind of content. You can only find mission highlight and anything regarding the story in my channel. The repeated attack waves and base operations are excluded.

Holy shit, that's a long MOVIE.
You said you will take a break, but then you "work" even harder than before.
Thank you for your absolute hard work.
It took a lot longer that I expected. I couldn't catch a break. But the long works are over for the time being.

This is what introduced me to the lore of Warcraft! What nostalgia!

I don't know what version I played, but my Dark Portal could be only damaged by Khadgar.

The only thing that I am not a fan of orcs units from warcraft 2. They replaced Raider to Ogre.
I'd love to play this on phone.

Executor, we need more memes.
but you skip so much :(
