One of the interesting facts about a properly performed barrel roll is that it is a 1 G maneuver. That is, when done right, there are no G forces at angles that would distribute an open cup of water put on a flat surface. There are lots of videos of pilots doing exactly that. The most famous barrel roll was performed by test pilot Tex Johnston who in 1955 barrel rolled the prototype for the first Boeing jet airliner (yes, like in the Steve Miller song) during the air show, and this impressed the various airline companies that the plane was much more stable than the de Havilland DH.106 Comet, the very first commercially operated passenger jet airliner. Through the early 1950s, the Comet had a number of crashes which caused its airworthiness certificate to be revoked in 1954. At that point, the airlines were a little bit concerned about jet-based passenger plane safety as they had their very reliable prop-based passenger planes. It was the 2 barrel rolls by Tex Johnston during the demonstration and flyby that convinced the Aircraft Industries Association (AIA) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) that the Boeing 367-80 was safe to fly despite the Comet's problems. There is a famous photo taken by the flight engineer on that flight over Seatle while the plane was inverted.

Love all your videos! Just a side note, The T-28 was used in combat in Vietnam. It was the T-28d. It carried both guns and rockets. It was painted in camo.
During Vietnam, we outfitted both the Royal Thai Air Force and the Republic of Vietnam Air Force with T-28's, as well as our own USAF. They carried 50cal machine gun pods and could drop both napalm and iron bombs as well as fire MANTRA rockets. And the first American fixed wing attack aircraft shot down in Vietnam was a T-28. The Trojan was DEFINITELY a combat aircraft.

Would you recommend the Eflite t-28 1.2m over the FMS t-28 1.4m? I had the 1.1 but it felt too floaty.

The Trojan can definitely handle grass runways that are maintained pretty well. Might be harder on that front landing gear, but I am VERY confident this can do grass 👍😁😎⚓️

The lack of lights is disappointing for an updated, more expensive model. Hobbyking is putting great light packages on all their new more expensive releases now, and it really makes them stand out in the air.
Noticed where you thought Safe was on with take-off but it wasn't. Perhaps get used to low and high rates instead. At your skill level it doesn't serve the purpose of 'saving' you anymore.
Of course you know this and it's your preference that you use Safe. Just suggesting this because eventually Safe, IMHO, is more of a hindrance to learning than a tool.
safe is always in the background and will save the plane what ever skill level. countless times iv been blinded by the sun, needed 2 seconds to put my sunglasses on, lost orientation, had a bug in my eye etc etc. my skill levels getting better and better but safe is a tool I'll always have at a flick of a switch to help protect my £10000s investment
I like having SAFE “on” the radio for that exact reason mark mentioned. Getting blinded by the sun is probably the main reason I personally use it, however I’m a huge fan of sharing 😁 If Abby or honestly just about anyone wants to fly my plane, SAFE goes on and I pass the controls over! I know exactly what you mean though jriley, as my most recent helicopter crash could have possibly been avoided if I wasn’t relying on SAFE so heavily. Happy Flying guys! 👍😁😎⚓️
That sunset looks like something from the movies. I made my way to the closet hobby store (+ - 40 mi.) Impulse buy: AreoScout and got adapters for the UDI 5 going have to take the boat with me because they don't work 🙁. But I'll definitely use the link for more batteries. One of these days there's gotta be no wind I can take that AreoScout or Mini Apprentice out.
I really wish this airplane came with lights installed.

Perhaps there is a recreational shooting range in the vicinity? It might be that the gun shots you hear are absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

Nah good question! TBH, Abby and I haven’t been ahead enough on content to make the time to fly it for chase shots. Most of these recent videos you’ve been seeing are filmed just a few short hours before we release the video! Busy busy busy lately! If we get caught up a bit more, we will get the drone back out 😉👍😎⚓️

Need your opinion on the following:
Currently own a T28 1.1 m and am looking at buying a Carbon Z T28 2.0m. Are the flying characteristics that different or should I look at something else.
Love their videos but the zooming in and out and the choppy video clips when either are showing the plane are annoying, notice it on a lot of the latest videos
