This is the raid that created absolute anarchy in multiple ways. From Discord losing connection to its servers all day to DDOS attacks on players racing, and of course the raid itself focusing on speed and chaos to acquire the exotic weapon Anarchy, this raid truly has Anarchy all over! The raid Scourge of the Past dropped on the Destiny Community December 7th of 2018 with the Black Armory seasonal content pass dropping slightly before this on that same Tuesday. Who would win the race? Was the loot great? How would the community react to a raid in a seasonal content formula? Well, only one way to find out I suppose?

Mostly just Sparrows being fucky every now and then, I kinda get it. I just love riding the sparrow and the run really gets your adrenaline going. Plus we always go for the special chest

I actually love this raid, the setting is so unique, incredibly cool encounters that allow you to use sparrows, fuxking TANKS and literally a final boss where you are jumping in between broken buildings fighting a mech. It feels like a movie. Not to mention that you are literally fighting underneath the traveler in the last city which is just so freakin cool, actually defending the last city.
I love how you can immediately feel when the soundtrack is from doom. Never played any of the games, but you can just tell it's doom music.

TBH in my opinion this is one of my favorite raids in D2 for each encounter, it just felt fresh.
Neat fact, when Insurrection Prime wipes from not killing him in time, or you accidentally hit the nuke buff, the entire last city gets destroyed
This Raid in a Nutshell: Anarchist Fallen cause Riots in the Last City over the death of Skolas. Upon seeing them looting, we start shooting.

It’s called into question the shoot-on-sight tactics of Guardians, as the 3 man fireteam responsible for the death have been taken into custody and awaiting charges.

The Solstice legendary sparrow from 2019 also had the perk where enemys are less aggressive to you and is also a 160 speed, but it doesn't have the reduce time between spawns perk. Hopfully sparrows will be getting the same treatment ghosts are next season so we can build our own(and give everyone instant summom which should just be default by now lol).

This raid literally changed me. Before this raid, I was terrified of LFG! I would look at a new exotic quest and say "Aw, it's a people quest." I mainly did solo things like pinnacles and seasonal activity like sundial. Then one day I just decided " I need to experience a raid! That's it! Are they that fun?" I had heard that this was not too hardcore so I tried it and loved it and got a great batch of people and have been raiding since. I would do this any thime, it had a great exotic, amaing replayablity, so creative, and my favorite part is that it is fun(cough cough not garden) and not super you be exact or die like other raids. You could just chill back and do this in a half hour and i like that. Also, the mechnaics are amazing and mega easy to learn and teach. Sparrow encounter is also increidbly fun, picking up on the people that still wanted sparrow racing. If you have never done a raid before, deifdently try this before it is gone! I can't beleive they are taking it away when the cosmodrome isnt even narratively leaving. I know its so bungie can make better content but like there are laready 4 other raids leaving with all the other stuff. Same with zero hour. How much space does bungie need?
SOTP is definitely my favorite raid. It’s nowhere near the most difficult, but goddamn is it fun.
Been grinding the boss for anarchy and this raid is a BOP to do, even the sparrow race.

I love SotP cause it was the first raid I did in Destiny 2 and I’m still up for doing this raid over and over.
Scourge holds the most memories in any raid for me. It was short and enjoyable, sad to see it go. Getting anarchy on my second run and having it before anyone really knew what it did, it felt great and it was the one time in destiny where i could flex something.

I'm late to the party for a lot of raid content, but I'm so glad I got to experience this one before sunset. It's my favorite raid by far. The openness of the arenas, the demanding communication and coordination, and the SPARROWS. I love love love the way sparrows feel (on PC). The maps in the first and last encounters are my favorite, and I weirdly love reading them and doing callouts. It feels a little like those spy movies where one guy is watching all the security cams and advising the team? Not exactly like that, but you know what I mean. That's what I'd like to see more of. Information sharing that goes beyond The Gauntlet callouts or that whole mess in Last Wish's vault.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I do love this raid and appreciate it a lot more since this video. It’s short but sweet. The city is aesthetically pleasing to me. I didn’t play the raid when it came out. I played it as soon as you can start farming anarchy. This raid is definitely up there in my list!
The other sparrow that had increased durability was the solstice sparrow so lucky me that I grinded out all armor sets :3

This makes me appreciate the sparrow sequence in Grasp of Avarice, which came out a year after this video was made. Hello from the future!
Also, Leviathan's interior size and depth was so daunting at first that it felt like a genuine maze. Secret paths and all that too.
Not too long after this video was made, Deep Stone Crypt (Beyond Light's initial raid) has a maze-like sequence near its beginning, where we have to hurry through branching crevasses in a glacier of ice before we freeze to death from the debuff. First time I went through DSC I had solo'd the beginning portion (including that "maze") up until the first encounter inside the crypt proper. Made everything that much more stark, lol.
I recently am coming back to Destiny 2, as a Destiny 1 veteran, and these videos reignited my passion for this game. Now I will have a lot of catching up to do and I really hope I can get into Beyond Light.

Im excited for the garden video, which I think is underrated and currently my favorite raid in destiny 2 due to the aesthetic and (in my opinion) cool bosses/encounters.
I find a perfect DPS phase on the final boss the most satisfying thing ever. Like the music, the buffs lining up, and the _thunk, thunk, thunk_ of six whispers going off.

Absolutely love this raid. Easily my favourite to Sherpa people through, and a great beginner raid for new players. Simple mechanics, yet it's not brain dead easy.

One of my favorite raids just because I love sniping the crits on the boss... still don’t have anarchy though, going to grind the hell out of it this weekend.
one thing I like about this raid is the last city view, the buildings and whatsoever. It really gives you the last view of the Last City, I feed sad that it's going away

This is by far my favorite raid. It was just fun, the map mechanic was cool, and it has my favorite weapon/armor look.
Scourge is my clan's Intro Raid. We run new clanmates through it as well as players who have never done a raid before. Our time trial is just under 35 minutes.
Anarchy works with 2-3 2 normally but if the boss is really big like argos, galrahn, riven, and xol you can stick 2 in 1 spot and 1 in another spot so it doesn't connect to the other 2. The 2 and the 1 anarchy's will do damage separately. Cheese forever made a video further detailing this can't find the video though.
I kind of wish we could get more open levels with such verticality in strikes. For real the idea of having such an open environment would be so cool specially if they make the enemies just as mobile as you are. Plus these war zones would be great fir future battleground evens like what they’ve been doing with season of the chosen

I loved black armory. Looking back I'm so sad I had nobody to do raids with before rejoining the game in Season of the Chosen. Hope most of the vaulted raids come back at some point.
This was the first raid I had a good sherpa for, and did - like you say - get me into raiding. Sparrow encounter is one of the most fun things I've done in the game, even if the last time I did it was the only time I've ever completed it, heh
Before it was vaulted, This was the first and only raid I've ever completed. Leviathan was a nightmare, Garden of Salvation was somewhat a pain and Last Wish had us blocked on Shuro Chi. Never did the other raids as I joined during the Warmind season. Now my list has expanded to Scourge of the Past, Deep Stone Crypt and thanks to an invite to fight Riven, Last Wish. Granted I never got to kill Shuro Chi or the boss after her but it felt good to get Last Wish done as well as see the infamous Riven cheese.
I might watch this again but have a shot of whiskey everytime Evan says "Anarchy"

What I learned from watching these videos: Everyone who plays Destiny 2 hates it and think they could make a better game in their sleep, but the community is still really “supportive” and worthy of an award because of how great it is
