Hei Sarlina, it was just a pleasure to request this song. I cant belive that after being one of the best singer in the world for over 3 decades there still are many that have not heard about her. So i have started to request for her songs, it kind of is in the spirit of Angelina.

I remember Sissels first time singing on TV. She sang like an Angel already then. She is also a national treasure. She has been on the greatest stages singing.
It's the closest one can feel the spirit of God , close your eyes and let you be influenced by the sweetness of the feeling you are experiencing and you shall know that he lives your Saviour is with you. This experience reminds us all that there are more important things in life than wha the world teaches. The truth is in front of us. I testify that he lives. AMEN
Thank you for reacting to this! I love this song and Sissel, as well as your reaction. I keep coming back to this song over and over. I was there in the audience when this was recorded. The feeling of the Holy Ghost was so strong, and the standing ovation she received was also amazing. The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square is marvelous.
Anytime you want to feel nearer to God listen to the Tabernacle Choir, there are many renditions that will bring your emotions to its peak and bring you closer to God.
Sissel sang with this choir for their annual Christmas concert around 2008. The video of the finale song "Angels from the Realms of Glory" is on RUclips. PBS airs the concert each year but it was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic. A 365 voice choir with a full orchestra in front of 21,000 is a sight to behold!
Theres music, and theres genious. In this performance Sissel showed me how the combination of an angelic voice and a soulfull interpretation can transend boundaries of faith. This is one of my favorite live performances ever, and I don't have a religious bone in my body. I'm actually not much of a fan of RUclips and it's commercial driven in the middle of a video anoing bullshit messages. But this performance got me signed up.
If new to Sissel you can have a fun afternoon listening to her career, 13 to 52, all sampled on RUclips. Her voice has a bewitching quality and she knows how to pitch a song's performance. Fine entertainer.
Not sure how I found my way to your channel, but Sissel is truly one special lady. Not only can she hold her own in front of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, but she has been the most invited artist of all time to come and perform with them during their famous Pioneer Day Concerts as well as their Christmas Concerts. If you want a special treat, look some of her other performances with the choir to see just how magnificent she really is!

It was between Sissel and Celine Dion who was to sing my heart will go on for Titanic, James Horner decided to go with Celine since he had known her since she was 18.
Tom Bredesen That’s not the whole story. Sissel told me personally that Horner wrote “My Heart Will Go On” for her to sing. Here are the behind-the-scenes details: Horner offered the rights to the Titanic soundtrack to Sissel’s record label, PolyGram, for $1 million. A lot of people forget, but before Titanic was released, a lot of people were predicting it would bomb. PolyGram decided not to buy the rights. As an atheist - I approve this performance. I must also confess I have had the pleasure of hearing her sing without a microphone more than a couple of times. You know when you lick your finger and stroke a crystal glass just right and the entire glass starts to resonate and then more until the entire room feels like it starting to resonate? This lady does that trick with her voice without a microphone. She makes it sound like the air-molecules align and start to resonate - especially when she holds them long tones. It sounds like she is singing inside my ears. An example is when she sings the one word "slow" around 3:45. When hearing her doing that magic trick without a microphone and how loudly that softest of voice fills the biggest of spaces - it is bonkers, man. Banshee of x-men is able to fly on his sound-waves (or something). I think this lady can do the same - because she is not so much singing as she is somehow making the atoms in the air dance waves - like one can stroke a glass making it sing resonance. It is a bloody physical experience that is very different from a gazillion watts actually pushing air physically via huge membranes. Even outdoors - it sounds like nature itself is turning into the most perfect acoustic space because of happy atoms. She is not the only one who can do this (I happen to have two professional opera soloists as friends) - but when she does the trick she does in this performance - I am still an atheist) And she does it better live. I happen to think that she may be confusing microphone and recording technology, probably because they think they are clipping at 65 dB or something weird.
yep I'm Atheist as well but tell you what it does not matter when it comes to Sissel. she just has an awesome voice with clarity, range, vibrato. Since almost from the day I heard her over 30 years ago she is tops on my list of female artists. And of course she has changed a bit with age but she still has what it takes. Enya turned 61yo and she still sounds great as well. I also like the Soprano singer Emer Barry.
as good as this is, this is definitely NOT one of Sissel's best performances. just off the top of my head, among her songs that I would most recommend listening to her singing include Ave Verum Corpus, Dream a Little Dream of Me, Going Home, If You Love Me, In Dreams, Lascia Chio Pianga, Like An Angel Passing Through My Room, Make You Feel My Love, O Mio Babbino Caro, One Day, Pie Jesu, Shenandoah, Titanic wordless vocals, Weightless, and You Will Never Walk Alone
well its difficult to choose and to each they're own. She is just awesome with everything thing she does. That humming in Titanic was absolutely haunting with her tremendous range. you would not think a Soprano could reach such low notes. hey you forgot to mention Auld Lang Syne which she sings in English (she sings in 15 languages & speaks perfect English with no British dialect I do not know how she can do this!).
