    Love Zelos. Just started collecting some of Zelos iconic pieces from the past. I was going to buy the new Eagle 2 but was torn between this model and an older Zelos model the Skyraider 2 Ti Teal. I did the Skyraider and wow I love it! Love winding the watch and the tactile feeling of interacting with the watch. Reminds me of a young boy with my handwound timex and listening to that ticking heartbeat of that movement. Oh old man rambling. So I'm looking back on Elshans line for those gems while looking forward to his current models.
    Love your channel
    Enjoy your watches!
    John

    Great review - I’ve got choice anxiety trying to select which one to get!
    On the blue dial, the two dial sections are at different levels (the outer ring is slightly higher than the inner section).
    If so, I’m assuming the patterned dials like Carbon/Meteorite are one-piece without any step (just the ring placed on top)? Please can you confirm on your piece…
    I also like the Arctic (cerakote bezel & crown), however the lugs are gunmetal coated which seems to remove the only polished chamfers.
    Between the models you have seen, which stands out to you as the most impressive dial to match this unique case?
    Thanks again!

      @DesignAtelier  9 месяцев назад

      yes i can confirm this is one single dial plate. The ring is applied on top of it. No step between the outer and inner dial. To me the stand out is the ceracoat model. However standing out is not my preference. I still love the meteorite model the most.

    So excited for this release. It will be a great addition to balance out all the divers in ,y collection. Side note, I’ve been subscribed for a while and it’s amazing how your videography. editing and overall production continues to get better when it was already the best on RUclips 👌

    If you were to compare the finishing and quality between Zelos and Wise, which would you say is better than the other?

    Awsome looking watch. Loving the traditional pilot inspiration.
    Ironically, this and virtually every other pilot watch isn’t much use for actual pilots (IMO)! The one complication a pilot uses all the time is the date. Constantly checking and filling out paperwork a quick check of the date on your watch is essential. It’s defiantly cool but not for the flight deck.

    Great review and edits! Also maybe I am crazy but the Zelos looked smaller on wrist than the IWC, maybe smaller watch face? I am a sucker for aventurine so picked that one up.

    • @DesignAtelier
      @DesignAtelier  9 месяцев назад +1

      It’s likely the dial and bezel. IWCs have very narrow bezels making the dial look larger.

    I like every aspect of this Zelos. Interesting case composition, textured dial that is distinct, the pop of color on the second hand, and a great looking strap and buckle. Plus, choosing to use a Swiss calibre makes this a very compelling piece for me.

    I’m still undecided between the adventurine and teal model.

    Thank you for the review, the engineering feats on this watch are fantastic and the dimensions are very wearable. I'm also a fan of type B designs. I agree with you that the Meteorite is fantastic but I'm still torn between the Meteorite with it's perfect blue steel contrast, the Cerakote Artic which I really like the way the crown and bezel are tied together, and the Enameled Teal which will play perfectly with light. I'm only going for one so it's a tough decision. The Meteorite feels like it fits the theme of a high flying, almost space watch design, pilots watch

      Yeah my favorite is the meteo still. But hey this is a great solid watch!

    Great content as always. I always wanted a Zelos watch particularly the diver variety but they are all too big for my small wrist. Any suggestions?

    The case no doubt is the biggest selling point,the dial isnt my cup of tea enough.As said,I would prefer previous forged carbon,also Im not sure about the metal ring,the purpose of it.Would be cool if combined with two layers,on the outside and inside layers,like carbon/gold carbon,gray/blue meteorite,even an aventurine can combine,recently Revelot showed a black aventurine.Btw on a macro Fat Carbon structure looks a bit like wood and unfortunately also have that glossy postcard look.
    Also was nice to be mentioned in the vid😊👍

    For the fat carbon, isn't it that the coloured materials are added in to the carbon instead?
    It's definitely a nice titanium watch with a nice movement at this price but I find the outer applied luminous indices look plasticky and cheapen the feel of the watch. Not sure why they are not printed just like the inner ones or just use applied metal indices which would match with the metal ring in the middle of the dial. Personally I really dislike plastic lume indices like what Aragon uses to do.

    The title of the video is really clickbait and not correct: this watch is absolutely not the most complete Zelos, it lacks the bracelet so also just for that it's not a complete watch, it has a lot of unique features but is not complete. The Starfighter is complete, the spearfish is complete, this is not a complete watch, beautiful but not complete. Also a so thick fixed bezel with a sandblasted all brushed surface makes it look very rough to the eyes. Title excluded, congratulations for the awesome review and the great transitions.

    The iwc comparison is so stupid, sorry.
    One is a watch that subsidises advertising, uses a 2892 derivative with an expanded barrel and all the issues one would expect, can be replicated by Chinese clones with ease because of stagnant designs and is priced for morons.
    The other is a relative bargain with a significantly more modern movement based on a well regarded Japanese one, genuinely looks different and uses materials iwc would gouge your eyes out for.
    Could atleast have done a laco or stowa comparison for something more reasonable, IWC is just a joke of a brand like most normie 'watchmakers' at this point.
