      I totally agree! I can't describe how useful and ensuring it is to get a peek into a professional's practice routine. It has you realise 'impossible' playing is done through practice that you could do too

    Love your interpretation of 2:09 - so clear, crisp, and much more gentle/elegant than how most people play it.

    It is interesting if you listen to your previous recording and then this one. Both are very good, but you can tell that you've refined it more. Love this recording.

      Josh Wright do you think that the relation of the posture between head - neck - shoulder - back
      affects the playing of the piano player - positively or negatively?

      I just love this particular winterwind recording. He played it so well. I could feel the icicles in the wind.

    I’ve heard this piece so many times, and there were a few choices you made when performing this that made me just say “oh.. wow!” I commend you! Most, including myself will likely only play this in their dreams. :) good luck.

    wow. One of my favorite performances alongside sumino's. Sounds like im listening to a story or watching an intense movie. Incredibly underrated and your pedal control is disgustingly good, not that i know much about piano though. I love your face at the end its like a face of "dang, I actually played that pretty good didnt I"

    Your performance is outstanding! How you managed not to just play it all fortíssimo, giving various colors to an etude that is in general very repetitive; the choices you've made while playing it show personality.

    my absolute favorite interpretation of this piece.. Very expressive and fluid, phenomenal clarity. The build of the piano matches the quality of the pianist.
    Anyways, Josh, I am a pianist of 14 years(only 1 year of formal training, starting at age 10)..
    I never learned how to read music, however through Synesthesia videos here on YT, I've learned the first 3 minutes of Moonlight Sonata mvt 3, and roughly the first minute of this etude(with fairly precise technique). To cut to the point, I'd love to show you where I am at musically & hear your opinions and suggestions on what I should do..

    • @questionsrealanswers860
      @questionsrealanswers860 6 лет назад

      TheCommidor check Chopin Godowsky 25 11.
      The Godowsky Studies make the original Chopin etudes look easy stuff (but horribly CHALLENGING already)
      Godowsky wrote etudes for the left hand alone, and some of those arrangements of the Chopin etudes sound even better than the Chopin original etudes. Chech Godowsky Chopin 10 1 for the left hand alone

    Bad interpretation. This is supposed to be a violent and stormy piece.

    • @giroliro3
      @giroliro3 2 года назад +2

      Bad comment. This interpretation was violent and stormy when it needed to be. Everyone doesn't need to play every piece the same way. Otherwise what would be the point of listening to different performers?
